Complete TF2 Heavy DLC Guide

This guide details the steps on how to finish the uber transplant, from the new TF2 DLC for Surgeon Simulator 2013.

This is my first guide but hopefully it will give everyone the help they need with this DLC. I now have all the achievements for this so they are all covered below. All in all this is a very fun level however some annoying physics bugs will cause heavy to take random damage sometimes causing your 1000ml run to be compromised or you will get frustrated with the medgun controls and screw up your timed run.

However take it steady and enjoy the level and the additional achievements will come again soon. Glad to say I now have 100% on this game again!

To get started grab the VHS from the right of the desk and shove it in the player.

This will net you the "Valve Actually Let Us Do This?" Achievement

Not the best run but this was one of my first "Successful" runs. Haven't recorded any of my better runs as it takes so long to upload :( Maybe I will in the future.

Choose your weapon and get those ribs out of the way. I normally use the baseball bat or the nuke the wrench as its a proper heavy hitter and good at smashing.If you are going for the 1000ml blood loss or timed attempt then give the ribs a really good crack as described further down.

Remove the lungs and heart the same way you would in the normal Heart Transplant levels. Pick the lungs up one at a time and get rid of them. Then use something to get the heart disconnected. I use the plyers as they seem to do a very good job. Then get rid of the old heart.

Grab the large baboon heart from the fridge. I have found that you will want to move the ubercharge gizmo out of the way before opening the fridge door as often the Heavy's arm being nudged by the door has pushed this out of reach / onto the floor.

Now they have updated the level you now have to "unlock" the fridge. To do this wedge the hand in from the right and it should unlock, you may want to give it a pinch with the fingers and pull it toward you. Once you see a bit of movement in the door you can drag it open like normal.
Once you have the heart out of the fridge wedge the uber gizmo into the heart and then hold it up to the medgun.
You can move the medgun using the lever on the left of Heavy.
It will make a sound and channel onto the heart when its charging and then you will get a flash of light and medic will probably talk to confirm its active. The heart also pulses and glows. Place this into heavy.

Many people are complaining that it is bugged etc etc. This is not true. Getting the heart in heavy isn't the final step. You actually have to seal him up for the first time in Surgeon Sim.

To do this make sure the heart is in the chest cavity and then point the medgun at his chest and it will start to close up. This is quite a precise movement to do sadly and will certainly be frustrating when going for the 2:30 achievement.
This will net you "Let's Go Practice Medicine" and if you managed to do it in under 2:30 or with less than 1000ml blood loss then you will get some additional achievements.

How to: PRACTICE! Thats all i can really offer on this one. You need to get the ribs out as fast as you can. Grab the wrench and start smacking and aim for about 30 seconds to have them out of the way. I always try and line the medgun up with his chest at the start of the level and if i dont get that spot on within about 10 seconds i restart.

Once the ribs are out get the lungs and heart out as quick as possible, open the fridge and wedge the new heart on the uber gizmo and then hold it above his chest cavity to charge it. YOU NEED TO HOLD THE HEART FOR THE FIRST CHARGE. *This has changed and you can now bung the completed heart into the chest cavity, charge and seal at the same time*

How to: Easy one. Just grab the small heart from the fridge, attach it to the uber gizmo and charge it with the medgun. Its so wimpy and small that sucker just goes BANG!

Target: Hit Archimedes with a heart

How To: Archimedes is the bird sat at the back of the room. All you do is grab a heart from the fridge and throw it at him. I found it easiest to have the palm of your hand facing upward and then just launch the heart at him.

I say I found it easiest I did it that way first time so yeah..

Target: Complete the Uber Heart Transplant with under 1000ml Blood Loss

How to: I found the easiest way to do this was to give the ribs a REALLY hard hit with the wrench and keep fingers crossed for minimal blood loss. Took me about 12 attempts to not get an instant 1000ml blood loss for cracking him in the ribs but i found hitting towards the top but dead center did a good job.

I managed the above amount in one blow on my successful attempt. Then just take your time and finish up. I would have gotten over 5000 at the end if the fridge door hitting heavy's arm didnt do a randomly large amount of damage.
