[FIX] Launching the game in Fullscreen (Default Resolutions only)
Higher than 60hz Monitor fix
Use CRU to force screen refresh rate to 60hz
- Download Custom Resolution Utility (CRU) from here: https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Custom-Resolution-Utility-CRU
- Once downloaded, extract the zip files.
- Open the CRU application (CRU.exe).
- Select your primary monitor on the top dropdown box.
- Under the Detailed resolutions list field, click the Add button.
- In the Detailed Resolution window, select the Resolution dropdown box, and then choose your correct screen resolution and aspect ratio. Ensure Refresh Rate is set to 60.00 hz.
- Click OK from the same window then click OK again. This will exit the application.
- From the same directory where you launched the CRU.exe application, access the restart64.exe file.
- There'll be a prompt window that appears asking if you want to revert the changes, click Exit to close the window and confirm the changes.
- You may now select the 60.00 hz refresh rate option from your desktop's Advanced display settings.
Accessing the game
- Before launching the game, access swkotor's directory first. You can do this by browsing local files. (Right-click game from your library list and the option will appear).
- Access swkotor.exe's properties and enable the following:
ARun this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
b. Disable fullscreen optimizations
c. Run as administrator
- After setting the above, proceed to launch the game.
- The game will now launch in fullscreen and the resolution list in-game is will no longer be blank. Note however that the default resolutions supported by the game will only be available. You can enable and set other graphic settings to their maximum.
- After selecting a resolution you may proceed to playing the game or exit for now then set your refresh rate back to its original setting. This will no longer mess up the game.
Just wanted to share this as I wouldn't want people to miss out on this incredible gem of a game.
