Getting troublesome DLCs authorized

There is still a high demand for people trying to get DLCs working for the original ME2 games on Steam, and this is made more confusing by the lack of updated information on the internet. From sites claiming to offer free dlc downloads, to Origin being recommended (or is it EA Online now? lol?), or even referrals to that bioware social website (good luck), not to mention all the guides that point you in any of these directions, or the partially useful tip of going back to your steam dlc keys and pasting them into EA Online so the cerberus network in-game can recognise what you own...

Need I go on?

So I'll get to the point. Go to this website:

https://github.com/Erik-JS/masseffect-binkw32/tree/master/ME2

Hopefully I got the link just right and you land on the page with the EXTREMELY helpful line:
"if you're here and don't know what to do, just copy the 2 DLL's there to 'Mass Effect 2\Binaries' and be done with it".

At this point, you can click on the 'folder' link, click on and download the 2x binkw23.dll files (the button is the typical down-arrow-pointing-into-a-box icon on the right), and do exactly as it says - paste them both into the \Binaries folder.

Upon starting ME2, you should notice the absence of the automatic error message for things like Overlord and Kasumi dlcs you may have already downloaded from https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/dlc-for-classic-games/

I hope it works for everyone as well as it did for me.
