Hashish 101

Hashish is among the most reliable and highest-profit trade goods in Kenshi, making it an excellent income source for all stages of the game.


The following sections highlight all the crucial info you'll need to implement hashish trading into your playthrough!

You can acquire a substantial amount of hashish and hemp early in the game by looting the Secret Drug Farm[www.kenshimap.com]. This method is low-risk, provided that you avoid the two Security Spiders, each located in a separate building. You can then sell this hashish just west at Flats Lagoon with a +400% mark-up.

This is likely the easiest way to make money in the early game. By bringing multiple characters or a backpack, you can quickly get a substantial amount of money.

Hashish can be purchased directly from specific vendors in The Swamp and in all Western Hive villages with a trader. Buying from the vendors in The Swamp is recommended, as they carry significantly larger quantities.

Hashish can be sold at most vendors outside of the United Cities, Holy Nation, and Shek Kingdom, though mark-ups are neglible. The only normal locations where you’ll see a significant profit are Flats Lagoon, Mourn, and the Manhunter Base, which have a 400% markup. These settlements are also conveniently located near The Swamp. This is great early game, as it doesn’t require joining the Shinobi Thieves. Hashish can be sold to Shinobi Traders in the Thieves Guild towers, provided you pay the ~c.10,000 fee to join the Shinobi Thieves. While hashish can be sold at other towers, the most profitable locations in the entire game are the central United Cities cities of Heft, Heng, and Sho-Batai.

To produce hashish from raw materials, hemp can be farmed at your base using Hemp Farms or Hydroponic Hemp Stations. This is the recommended method, as it provides the largest quantity of hemp for hashish processing. However it should not be done if your base is located within United Cities territory, where hemp is contraband. Hemp can also be purchased from all vendors except those in United Cities or Holy Nation territory, even though it is not considered contraband in the Holy Nation.

After acquiring hemp, it can be turned into hashish at a hemp processor.

Each farm can station up to 4 characters and requires and input of 1 water. *Scales based on characters' farming stat. Must be placed indoors.
*By using hemp in a Biofuel Distillery to produce fuel, you can make hydroponics self-sufficient.

Gatekeepers of the United Cities and Holy Nation can randomly force your character into a bag check, becoming hostile if they find contraband. This can be bypassed in numerous ways.

• Unequip your backpack and place it in your inventory
