How to beat a brown bear in a 1vs1 fight

A brown bear can be taken down by delivering kicks to it up to nine times.

The brown bear attacks you in a pretty simple way: It chases you in a one-directional way with very slight drifts towards your direction and it uses its face or arm to harm you during its initiated attack.

In order to safely land the hits, you'll first need to evade its attack. Simply let the brown bear chase you, as you evade the brown bear's attempts of assault by moving either diagonally away / diagonally towards the brown bear or in a half circle around the bear. It most likely doesn't change the direction of the attempted attack.

Never go in a straight direction towards or against the brown bear, since it increases the risk of receiving damage as it outspeeds you in terms of running.

Pressing the [Action Button] when prompted, prevents the brown bear to swing its arm. That prevents you from receiving a serious injury.

Once the bear stops, you'll have the perfect opportunity to safely land a kick to the side or rear of brown bear. The kick will let the brown bear flinch for a moment, in which you can use the time to gain some distance between both of you in order to get ready to evade the next incoming attack. Alternatively, you could risk to deal another kick to the bear and immediately dive through him in order to evade the incoming atttack.

If you should sustain a serious injury, try to take some cover behind an obstacle and apply First-Aid, preferably once the bear has ended it's attack. Don't be afraid to take your time to take cover, as you'd still be able to evade the attacks even in such state.
