How to become a Diamond Dog

1. You have to be an adult soldier in 1984 working for the Soviets, CFA, Rogue Coyote, etc. Big Boss even accepts people working for XOF assuming you don't piss him off in combat.


2. Be a skilled soldier. You see, Big Boss will only accept the best people since he only has a limited amount of Fultons, and he is either too cash strapped to call a supply drop or he just doesn't care enough to hire on everyone in outposts. His Int-Scope will basically tell him everything about you while he's sneaking in outposts. Don't let Big Boss select the prisoner you're holding captive over you to get a free balloon ride to Mother Base all because he can build missiles and you can't.

1. Guard at any outpost. Specifically, you should be near the front of it or a position where you might be the first he sees if he attempts to infiltrate it. You can also be in a position that will force him to take you out in order for him to get to his objective, like being the guard of a prisoner or vigilantly guarding an entrance. Let's hope he doesn't just kill you when he finds you.
2. Let Big Boss take you out in a non-lethal way. Sadly he can't manually Fulton you if you're livid for some reason, so this is the only way. Getting shot in the head with a dart or having him come behind you and either choke you out or throw you against a wall are necessary pains in order for you to be a Diamond Dog.

If you have done the steps above, you should wake up in a mysterious helicopter and you'll soon be at Mother Base, where you'll be working for the legendary Big Boss until you kick the bucket or get dismissed.
