How to make the right choices in Walking Dead: Season 1
How Lee would Act
Given that Lee Everett woke up from a car crash on his way to prison in a brand-new world, with only Clementine left in his employ, it is best to understand Lee's role as an adoptive father figure for the girl. Be a good parent. This means subjecting her to as few traumatic situations as possible involving humans, while also making sure she's aware of the looming zombie threat the world faces.
As a few hypothetical examples-
-When given food items, always make sure to feed Clementine first and foremost. She's a growing girl, and is in need of nourishment for survival. She'll be appreciative of whatever you give her.
-Listen to Clementine's feelings. She's strong and capable, and you should be receptive of what she has to say about a situation. Usually, morally, she's in the right, and wise beyond her years.
-When given the option to be brutal, don't take it when Clementine is around, even if you think it makes pragmatic sense. You can swear around her all you want- it's a violent and crude world, but her psyche is young and in need of protection when it comes to human threats.
-Keep Clementine safe. When there's an option to bring her along with you, take it. Not only is she safer with you, but you are also safer with her. She's resourceful and can get you (or others) out of a bind.
-Don't be afraid to be affectionate sometimes. Clementine needs someone for emotional support, and right now Lee is more or less the only person she has to count on to confide in or ask for assistance on a dilemma with. Clem is tough, but like any eight-year-old kid, she's sensitive about certain things and it's best to take a soft approach in teaching her something or telling her how to act.
If you follow these five rules and get into the character of Lee, you'll see a changed man. Someone who was once violent restricts himself to only the violence that is necessary to protect those in his charge. The concerns of others are irrelevant, what matters is a father's protection of his daughter's wellbeing and happiness.
