How to mod Hollow Knight: Updated

Before starting:
I strongly advice beating the game at least once before starting modding, so you get the original experience first.

this is only for PC version, modding is not possible with console and not developed at all for mobile emulators

mods don't work with the current patch of Hollow Knight. You have to downpatch the game in steam ->config of the game -> propieties -> 1.5.78.11833

this is only for hollow knight, wait for silkfly or something for silksong, if it's even in development.

open lumafly and ensure that the directory displayed is where your hollow knight is downloaded

open the game once trought lumafly. This is for lumafly to create a folder for the mods.

close the game

the main page allows you to launch the game with or without mods and also contains some links suck as the official website, fireborn's modding tutorial, the discord server for modding, and create your own mod among others

go to mods and look for the mods you want to download.

all mods have additional information by clicking on the arrow at the right, and you can enable or disable mods that you have downloaded with the on/off switch.

by clicking open mods folder, you can see all the mods you have installed.

7. after you have installed some mods, you can just launch the game and play. There will be a loading bar right after th game launches, it's normal.
8. play the game modded

randomizer 4 and tools. Literally just the randomizer mode.

hollow knight multi player (HKMP). Address the common issues sector for further information.

enemy HP bar: to see HP bars

debug mod: to make silly stuff and cheat at the game play the game in an unconventional way

charm changer: to alter the stats of charms and stuff like that. You can make bad charms op or make compass cost 12 notches.

you can also explore more stuff by just looking at the mods they have.

if a skin in custom knight doesn't work, try reloading all skins. If it still doesn't work, go to "advanced" and select fix skins. If this doesn't work, IDK, try with another skin or downloading the skin again, or make sure the folder is unzipped.

hosting a private HKMP can be complicated, you should adress their github for further information. One way of doing it is via Hamachi, with the following link: https://geroyuni.notion.site/hkmp-hosting-hamachi. All the people should have hamachi installed in order to join the server.
