How to run the game more stably

You can use Jagulars' "Fixers Vanilla Patch" or "Hirao's One More Turn" to eliminate bugs in the game code. These are not compatible, however.

• Stability is increased when Fixers Vanilla Patch is installed and graphical settings are set as minimal as you can bear. Disabling combat effects is particularly recommended.
  
• Avoid Reloading. When reloading, it is preferable to restart Eador to clean the memory.

The game can not recognize dual graphics cards at all, even if you set your preferred graphics cards. The "Access Violation” error will more likely appear if the game runs with an integrated graphics card. Here is the solution:

1.Delete or move away "eador_mbw.exe" in the game folder.
2.Rename "eador_mbw.dll" to "eador_mbw.exe".
3.Set the default graphics card for "eador_mbw.exe" to the high-performance one.

The game was built on an old engine and it lacks optimization for modern hardware.
If your PC had any overheating issue when the game was running, here is the solution(Win10 tested):

1.Open "Control Panel", then select "Power Options".
2.Select "Create a power plan". You can rename the plan, then use the default settings. Click "Next" and "Create".
3.Find your power plan and click "Change plan settings". Then click "Change advanced power settings".
4.Find "Processor power management" tab, click to open "Maximum processor rate" tab.
5.Set the percentage to 50%-70% alike.

Attention:
The power setting is global, so you need to change it to the default plan when necessary(for example, when playing modern games).
