How to use meitou fragment axe properly (strength training guide)
Disclamer
This guide is heavily inspired by reddit user FrankieWuzHere . Most of the facts come from his post/videos and his works are insanely helpful. Therefore I would like to give a credit to him. Check out his videos if you like.
This guide mainly focus on strength training pass level 80 on a large squad. If you play solo, just follow Frankie's guide on strength because it is faster. It is quite an end game goal that requires good stats/gears and a lot of times. So save the game often incase something go south.
^ Figure 1: Agnu at 145 str after training and robotic.
^ Figure 2: 240+ damage against black dragon ninjas, with 90 heavy weapon skill and 145 str.
Also I am non English user so apologize for trash grammar.
Principle
is:
- Not affected by SOL
- capped at 50% by walking encumbered
- start at 10% by fighting, and increased by 5% for each strength level missing for weapon, capped at 110%.
- multiplied by 0.4 for blocking
Therefore an ideal training condition:
- has a lot of potential opponent to hit.
- doesn't threaten to kill or eat your character.
- your weapon requires 20 or more strength higher than your current level, which is 40x the blunt multiplier.
- do not KO you very often and you can constantly attack.
Training location
- starving bandits in skinner's roam
- shrieking bandits in shrieking forest
- blood spiders in burning forest
- crabs in howler maze
I also tested other locations with dense spawn such as:
- fogmen in fog island
- beak things in gut
All of those above share a same issue. constantly fighting a very large squad creates corpses and severed limbs faster than they can despawn. These are all physical object and impact heavily on game's engine. After one in game day characters will stop to response to your order.
Also mentioned in Frankie's video is catlon's exile, which hosts 200 storm thralls with good armor and aggressive AI. But they do not respawns very soon once they are killed. In the video he used low grade fragment axe and starve the character to limit his strength to single digit. This is not available to skeleton character. If you use prototype economic arms you may not be able to wield heavy weapon because it requires both hands.
After some attempts I found out the best training location for a large squad: Leviathan Coast and obviously you will use leviathan as your training dummy.
The reasons are:- other than leviathans, all mobs have stats in 40s, the creatures that eats you are weak(beak things, cannibals)
- leviathans bandage cut damage automatically, and have high toughness, which can take a lot of hits.
- leviathans attack and run at slow speed, so you can choose to retreat to safe place
- high fertility, water and ores, if you want to stock up on food/medkit/repair kits you can easily make a bunch.
Main process
- at least 80 on def/atk
- a set of masterwork crab armor + samurai legplate + crab helmet
- at least edge 3 fragment axe
- 90 toughness
for melee defense part you can use this guide and for toughness you can use this guide having these below will smooth the process greatly:
- 2x masterwork skeleton arm(+25% dex each)
- 2x masterwork scout leg(+90% athletics combined)
- at least 90 base dex(+0.0022 attack speed for each level)
- farms to make food cubes
- beds& repair beds
- robotic workbench to craft repair kits
- turret& kill zone facing the cannibal plain
At the training session you would need to sperate your character, as leviathans do insane AOE damage. you can take out the pearls but not taking it by shift-left click it, as it weigh a lot and slow you down. young leviathan has about 1/3 health compared to adults, so it take less hits, but it is way easier to block. Also keep away from the water as you are not able to defend yourself while swimming, and avoid mountainous region as it break the pathfinding system.
When engaging, first you choose to "attack unprovoked", then you right click and "attack all" WITHOUT hold. because the large mesh, you will have difficulty attacking leviathans while hold.
