The More Variations Of Robotic Limbs mod has a lot to offer and I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to make a little guide.

I don’t think I discovered everything yet so until then this guide is by no means complete, nor am I claiming that my approaches are the best.

I will also preemptively apologize as to how some of the hastily cropped images look considering I use a Transparent UI mod.

Note: And for the few people who haven’t been to the Ashland’s yet, this will also contain spoilers about the Ashland’s.

New Research Artifacts - Buying

You need an abundance of new artifacts to advance your research that are both hard-to-come-by and very expensive.

Buying

Note¹: You may have a much more pleasant time doing this if you install a mod that allows shops to hold a lot more items.

If you have or don't mind repeatedly spending a REALLY large amount of cats, go to the Black Desert City Scraphouse located in the Deadlands.

Note²: There is acid rain and water everywhere, bring protection for your stay!

Quin the shopkeeper will sell a variety of the newly added AI Cores (including the regular base game one) and Skeleton Cookbooks.

Just wait for the shop to naturally refresh its stock or import your save to make it refresh instantly.

Note³: Personally, I would recommend to import your save, after each purchase of artifacts, since it would save you the most amount of time.

Quin doesn't have any new prosthetics replacing his limbs, he may have some Skeleton Cookbooks and a Rare AI Core in his inventory.

His partner Dack has new prosthetics replacing his limbs, don’t forget to grab them!

(both his arms and legs are the same type and quality just using one picture for each for simplicity's sake)

He may also be in the possession of a Military Grade AI Core.

New Research Artifacts - Looting

Note¹: Whatever you do I highly recommended that you import your save, after every looting, to make the Ashland Domes refresh their loot instantly.

WARNING: This also respawns all enemies inside the domes!

Looting

Good places to grab a bunch of the newly added artifacts are the Ashland Domes in the Ashland’s.

Note²: Building a little storage base in the middle of the Ashland’s would ease your progress a lot. Nothing crazy just a single Stormhouse with a bunch of storage; a regular bed; a small wind generator and a skeleton repair bed would suffice.

Note³: Base raids can still occur in the Ashland’s, so having a tiny storage base instead of an entire research outpost might be more manageable.

I would recommend a stealthy approach by not engaging the enemies at all and focusing on your Thievery and Athletics skills.

And after you steal everything, you make a save and import it. And then you repeat everything until your tired of it or done.

The roaming Cleanser Units usually have a Rare AI Core; regular AI Core; Robotics Components (High Quality); CPU Units; Skeleton Eyes; Skeleton Muscles; Iron Plates; Copper Alloy Plates and Electrical Components on them.

Note⁴: The surrounding zones have acid rain, bring protection for the journey!

Note⁵: Don’t forget that the Ashland’s have moving gas clouds, so bring Gas Masks!

Crafting or Looting / Importing?

Note¹: Short version? Looting and Importing is easier; faster and better.

Looting and Importing

You only possess one pair of [Masterwork] Ancient Security Strong Arms that you got from the new skeleton Subordinate Failure in the Spider Factory but need more? (Example)

If you didn’t kill him, you just need to import your save without changing anything.

If he’s dead, you need to import your save with the Import Dead NPCs unchecked.

WARNING: This means all NPCs that you killed will be back, even the important ones!
e.g. You killed the Holy Lord Phoenix and collapsed the Holy Nation? Both are back.

You can then kill him again or knock him unconscious, and repeat this as often as necessary with any NPC.

Note²: This would also allow you to get multiple [Model # Meitou] weapons of the same type (e.g. an entire [Model # Meitou] Falling Sun squad).

Crafting

If you want to produce prosthetics of comparable quality you will need someone with a Robotics skill of at least 80 to consistently make [Specialist] prosthetics with a chance to produce [Masterwork] prosthetics.

You will also need to research and then construct the two new crafting benches.

Depending on what new prosthetic you’re crafting with the Skeleton Limb Bench Extended you will need either Robotics Components; Electrical Components or the new crafting materials.

Both can be crafted with the new Robotics Bench Extended, while Robotics Components (High Quality) may also appear in locations where the new research artifacts appear (e.g. Ashland Domes).

Note³: So far I never found Motor (High Quality) as loot, not even in the Ashland Domes, so I think they can only be crafted.

The crafting material for Robotics Components (High Quality) are regular Robotics Components and the crafting material for Motor (High Quality) are regular Motors.

Note⁴: The location of new blueprints, that you can’t research yourself, or new and unique research artifacts that only appear on special NPCs are well documented within the other sections of this guide (e.g. Reminder of the Past; CPU of Rhinobot etc.).

But just as a reminder, you will need a ton of Books; Ancient Science Books; Engineering Research; regular AI Cores; Rare AI Cores; Military Grade AI Cores; Skeleton Cookbooks and a few miscellaneous items (e.g. regular CPU Units etc.) to finish all research up to and related to new prosthetics.

Note⁵: As you can imagine, this would take quite a bit longer to set up compared to the other method.

Another down sight of crafting the new prosthetics is that they will always be slightly worse than the looted original even if the quality is the same.

For demonstration I looted and then crafted the Arm of the Exile (right) that you get from Mad Cat-Lon in Cat-Lon's Exile - Ashlands.

These are the stats of the arm looted directly from Mad Cat-Lon's limbs section.

These are the stats of the same arm crafted from the Blueprint From The Exile that is in Mad Cat-Lon's inventory.

Note⁶: Still a great prosthetic but you would expect, after doing all of this much more time-consuming preparation, that you would get the same quality of stats as the original.

Drowned Ruins - Wend

Neither the Armour King or the Armour King's Thralls have new prosthetics or new and unique research artifacts on them.

Note: Just saying so you don’t need to waste time swimming there.

And for those who aren’t aware, the Armour King is a special armor trader NPC that sells very high-grade armor that’s also very expensive (the majority of his stock being either [Specialist] or [Masterwork] grade).

Tower of Abuse - Venge

Note¹: New research artifacts can appear here as well.

Screamer the False

Screamer the False has new prosthetics replacing his limbs, don’t forget to grab them!

(both his arms and legs are the same type and quality just using one picture for each for simplicity's sake)

Note²: In my case Screamer the False also wore [Specialist Grade] Armoured Rags and Armoured Rag Skirt.

He may also be in the possession of a Skeleton's Cookbook and the [Model # Meitou] Heavy Polearm.

Ponk

Ponk has new prosthetics replacing his limbs, don’t forget to grab them!

(both his arms and legs are the same type and quality just using one picture for each for simplicity's sake)

Note²: Yes, Plank. Not the Exile Plank.

Reminder of the Past - Stobe's Garden

Probably the main reason why you searched for a guide in the first place :D

Location: Tower of Spiders - Stobe's Garden

It’s in the possession of a pretty strong and new skeleton called Mad Recluse.

Mad Recluse also uses new custom prosthetics that replace his regular limbs, don’t forget to grab them!

(both his legs are the same type and quality just using one picture for simplicity's sake)

Note¹: In my case Mad Recluse also wore [Specialist Grade] Ancient Samurai Armour and Ancient Samurai Legplates. He used a [Model # Old Refitted Blade] Katana.

The Reminder of the Past takes the appearance of the miscellaneous doll item and will be useful for further research.

He also carries a new blueprint so you can craft his Ronin prosthetics, not his Error : [c:0c:0]L - 1E or Error : N/A [n 0:U] prosthetic (those can only be looted).

He may also be in the possession of a Rare AI Core and Skeleton Cookbooks.

These are the prosthetics crafted from the Notes of an Old Warrior Blueprint that is in Mad Recluse's inventory.

(both arms and legs are the same type and have the same stats just using one picture for each for simplicity's sake)

Note¹: In my case the Upgraded Watchbots also wore either [High] or [Specialist] Armoured Rags (colored) and Armoured Rag Skirt (colored). They used either [High] or [Specialist] Eagle's Cross.

Note²: Personally, I would say that it's not worth reenacting D-Day for this loot.

Closing Words

Roaming skeletons or thralls in certain zones sometimes have new prosthetics but these are usually of really bad quality (some exceptions are zones like the Ashlands).

A big chunk of the new prosthetics are buyable from Robotics Workshops etc., though these are usually toned-down combined or worse versions of existing prosthetics.

Note: I suppose to have more early game variety in terms of prosthetics.

In case the creator updates their mod, I might update these pointers too.

At the very least I hope these guided you somewhat :D
