Proper Usage of Dark Ritual
The Method
So, lets get into the method. For this guide, we will assume that you have already leveled up Vaagur to his maximum effective level (Level 1440). However, you do not need to have Vaagur to pull off this method, but it does make it infinitely easier
In fact, to make full use of this guide, you only need Abaddon and Aphrodite. Shinatobe's 'Reload' ability is also helpful, especially since it halves the waiting time of Dark Ritual. Anyhow here is the simple, elegant 2-step method in which you can increase the efficiency of your Dark Ritual by a factor of itself!
STEP ONE [VERY IMPORTANT]: Activate Aphrodite's 'Energize' Ability. It is very important that you do this step first, otherwise the method won't work, and you will lose efficiency!
STEP TWO [SUPER IMPORTANT]: Activate Abaddon's 'Dark Ritual' Ability.
Congratulations! You have just improved the efficiency of your heroes far greater than what you normally would've accomplished. Well Done! As a side note, make sure none of your mercenaries are working towards a skills quest. There is a slight chance they roll Dark Ritual and mess up your efficiency. Now, lets get into the numbers.
The Proof
Well that is a fine and dandy method you got there, but does it even work? I am glad you asked, anonymous straw-man! I will prove that this method works using the trusty, ol' reliable, MATHEMATICS! If you have taken any basic algebra or statistics class, you will be able to prove for yourself that this method does, in fact, work. But first, we will need example data taken from my own game. You can follow along and do this with me, and see for your own eyes that works!
Figure 1: Initial DataHere is our initial data set before our 2-step method has taken place. For all intents and purposes, you can ignore the exponents or labels, as this could cause confusion during the calculation(unless the two exponents are NOT THE SAME, in which case you better know scientific notation, but if you are able to do algebra, this shouldn't be a problem). This calculation works just as well with Click Damage, Critical Click Damage, and not just DPS, but for sake of brevity, we will only calculate using DPS. Figure 2: Experimental Data
Here is our experimental data that we are measuring. Again you can ignore the labels. Now we will get into the calculation. Note that the amount of Dark Rituals used has increased from 2 to 3. This is because I used the aforementioned method. Figure 3: The Calculation
Alright so what the hell does this equation mean? Well, this is a simple %error equation, in which normally in a laboratory setting you use this equation to see how far off you were from the accepted value after an experiment. Our first value, our experimental value, is subtracted by our accepted value(initial value). The difference of the two values is then divided by the initial value, and the resulting quotient is then multiplied by 100 to get our % deviation from the accepted value. And as you can see, the final value is about 10.02%
WOOHOO!! THAT MEANS WE PROVED IT RIGHT? Well... not exactly. This value needs to be peer reviewed, which is an exercise I leave to you, dear reader. But what do our findings even mean?
Practical Applications
So, how can we apply what we learned earlier to the actual game? Well, it's simple. Start using the method. If you aren't using the method you will fall behind, slowly. If you don't use the method, we can use the following exponent to calculate the multiplier increase above normal DPS:
1 * 1.05^20 = 2.635
Choosing not to use the method will give you about a 2.6x damage multiplier once you use up all your Dark Rituals.
However if you instead decide to use the method, we can calculate the multiplier increase above normal DPS using the following equation:
1 * 1.10^20 = 6.727
Should you decide to use the method, you will get a 6.7x damage multiplier once you use up all your Dark Rituals. We can go one step further, however, and really show you how much more efficient this method is compared to not using it using the following quotient:
6.727 / 2.635 = 2.553
So, what does this mean? It means that the method I discovered is proportional to the efficiency of not using the method multiplied by itself! (y is proportional to x^2) So theoretically, if you were allowed an infinite amount of Dark Rituals per ascension, using this method would get you where you need to be much MUCH faster than not using the method.
TL;DR:
USE THE METHOD. IT'S MORE EFFICIENT.
