This is my own interpretation of the lore of Ravenfield. It falls in line with the Vanilla+ universe but it goes down a different path. Most of it is about the second eagle-raven war, but has the war of 2042 between the eagles and ravens. And this is just my interpretation of the Vanilla+ lore and branching it further into 2042. Enjoy.

Introduction

I have always been interested in Ravenfield due to the amount of fun and joy it brings. Watching soldiers clash and see who comes out on top. But sometimes, a game may need a base story line for the player to know what is going on.

I created this story with purpose and effort. I hope you enjoy the story and like it.

CHAPTER 1: Overview

Overview
It has been years ever since the first conflict broke out in 1981 and ended in 2000. The eagles pushed forward through the plains to try and stop the Ravens from taking the peninsula next to the KITE island on the coast, but the ravens are now near the island on the coast, and th eEagles have failed with their goal.
[This political map shows the territory of the birdcage in 2010. In the middle to the north, we see the KITE island near the raven occupied coast. RAVEN: Red, Light red | EAGLE: Blue, light blue | KITE: Teal | KESTREL: Green]
(Map by wayne)
The island next to the Raven mainland on the left side of the map was mainly occupied by the kestrels but were expelled in 2001 during “Operation: Common enemy” when the full island was occupied by the two forces, on which they sit landlocked between the two. Yet the superpowers still struggle against the endless rebellions occurring there. It is unknown for their reason to rebel but no one will ever know why. It was until the International Peace Coalition entered the area; they wanted to interview the leader of their reason to rebel against the superpowers. He told the interviewers they had 15 minutes to leave or they would be punished by their laws. The IPC was then forced out 10 minutes later. After the incident, Ravens and Eagles make a temporary alliance to keep the kestrels in check by sending bombardments in the area. But civilians and children were often caught in the cross-hair.

Another incident occurred when the Ravens tried to lead a coup in a KITE occupied area with Magpies. The Magpies were terrorists, criminals, crooks, and dangerous people that bring nothing but destruction to the people that seem foreign to them. When the ravens supplied the Magpies to lead a coup on the island to try and establish a pro-Raven government, the Eagles intervened with the Falcons. The Falcons are a special operation group that are hired to do tasks that are able to be brought down, these soldiers also fought during the Halcyon crisis of 1999. But know this, they also have a country, so the eagles hired mercenary falcon troops from the falcons to try and stop this coup from happening. The Falcons intervened in the coup and sent the magpies running with tanks, armored vehicles and more. The Ravens then retaliated by sending a satellite into space to send a massive EMP to tear the technology on the island apart. Everyone was safely evacuated and the EMP was not near eagle mainland

CHAPTER 2: Second Eagle-Raven War [2012-2021]

Then in 2012, a nail in the worlds coffin would be placed when an assasination of a Raven leader on July 23. The government immediately blamed the Eagles for this, but it was the Magpies that did this when they were double-crossed by the Ravens for not helping in the coup. The eagles then prepared for war, as they advanced through the plains of KITE territory. The ravens then had the first conflict with the eagles at the battle of Austere Moor. The plains were filled with grassland and hills. The battle lasted for 5 days and the Eagles came out in victory with losses of 4,000 men while the ravens sat at 6,000 casualties.
[This photo taken in 2012 shows an eagle fighter jet flying towards a Raven position during day 5 of the battle of Austere Moor] The ravens, enraged by this defeat, began to counter attack at the battle of the Border Highlands. It had large numbers of aircraft, infantry, and land vehicles. The total count of men was nearly 40,000 men. The ravens won the battle with 7,000 losses while the eagles sat on 5,000 losses.
[This shows an eagle tank driving towards the enemy through the mountains, with this photo taken in 2013 during day 3 of the battle of the Border Highlands.] Despite this defeat, it showed how Eagles were able to use their men carefully and not risk heavy losses. The eagles then shifted their focus onto the Kestrel territory that bordered the Eagle kingdom; the place was rich in resources and the eagles knew that they needed those materials to win the war against the Ravens. The kestrels had no time to prepare for the eagles' relentless speed. There were multiple battles after that in this period, like the battle of the dust bowl when the eagles led a land and air assault on a kestrel air base, the battle of archipelago of when the eagles invaded a raven occupied island, and the battle of the citadel of when the eagles invaded the Kestrel capital and thus ending the kestrel rule, and etc. It was the final battle on December 31st of 2021 that changed the Birdcage history forever between the eagles and ravens; The battle of Oblast Highway.
The battle was a draw, with the total count of troops estimated to be almost over 100,000. The battle was devastating, as hundreds of civilians were caught in the crosshair and many homes were destroyed. The casualty report of troops combined is nearly 60,000 troops with eagles losing 30,000 while the ravens lost 30,000 also.

SECTION 2.1: The Desert March

Jake looked out the window of the aircraft, daydreaming about his family. This war has made him worn out already.

"Hey. This war bothering you?"
A soldier asked him.

"Uh, no. No it's not."
Jake straightened, trying to sound brave

"Alright then. I heard that there is loads of enemy troops on the ground with AA guns."

Jake was struck with fear

"Wait... Anti-Air guns?"
Jake asked

"Yeah. Our radar caught glimpses of them in the Dustbowl just 2 miles away from now. We're going to parachute from here and take them out. Those pesky Ravens won't see it coming!"

Jake tried to speak but was then cut off by the speakers

ATTENTION EAGLE SOLDIERS, THE COMMANDER IS GOING TO GIVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT. PLEASE WAIT FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS FROM HIM

The commanding officer then spoke through the speakers. Jake instantly snapped back to reality as this is from his superiors.

"Hello fellow Eagles. We've fought long and hard to try and keep our nation safe. I know that most of us on board are tired, but please listen to me clear and listen to me well. I am fully aware some of the losses after the Citadel. But we need to stick together."

The commander took a deep breath.

"Let's try and finish this war as fast as we can, try not to lose our brothers in arms, and stay alive."

The crew entrance door opened. Air rushed into the room as bright light came in from the sun.

"Stay strong troops. Let's get us home."

Just as he finished, the cargo bay shook violently and a explosion ripped through the wall, air sucking anything and anyone near it out the plane and to their demise.

"What's going on?! The Ravens shouldn't have known we were coming!"

Jake shouted over the shrieking air, while griping on a handle near the entrance.

"Well, the only thing we have have to do is survive! We have to get out!"

The soldier shouted, leaning on the wall near the entrance as well with a parachute.

They jumped out of the plane, as it seemingly to spin towards the ground, whilst being on fire. Jake couldn't help but gaze at it, as it gracefully fell to the ground, as it burned with embers.

Minutes later, Jake and a handful of men that lasted landed on the scorching sand, as the sun beat down on them.

"Huff... Man, that was one hell of a escape..." Jake muttered, breathing heavily from the adrenaline and escape, as his head felt dizzy and out of place

But as he looked around the desert, along with the small mountains in the distance, he knew they were a long way from the base they were from.

With enough courage mustered, Jake and his comrades marched across the desert sand. They luckily had a map that led to the nearest base, but the maps details were rather unclear with the paint almost torn off.

"We head north to the HQ, they will be able to help us there." Jake said, squinting while pointing in the direction he thinks it is.

"Well, do you know which way is north, by chance" one of the soldiers asked.

"Well, it's obvious it's the one with the GUNFIRE!" Jake scowled, pointing to where the little clicks were coming from.

"O-okay..." the soldier muttered, quiet enough for Jake to not hear.

For a couple hours of walking, they made their way across the unforgiving sand, doing their best to not lose each-other and to not die from dehydration and sunburns. With the occasional Raven troop deserters coming their way, since the battle was not going in the favor of the Ravens.

Eventually, they made it to the front of the gate at HQ, skin dried and sand-kissed, dehydrated, and just straight miserable in short.

"Huff.... huff.... We're allies. Let us in." Jake said, looking at the camera beside the door. It eventually flickered from a red to a green, allowing passage into the HQ...

They were safe from the battle...

But not the war

CHAPTER 3: The Post-War era...

It is the postwar era in 2022, and the war left not only the two superpowers on their knees, but it also devastated other minor powers in the globe. The constant battle across the globe left the world in ruins. The Magpies are dissolved into smaller unrecognized factions after the battle of Austere Dunes, the KITE island was then in Eagle control after the battle of Oblast Highway. In the face of defeat, the ravens threatened to use nuclear weapons at the eagles if they did not pay for their tribute of 1,000,000$. Avoiding this, the eagles sent the falcons yet again to sabotage the nukes during the night of their launch.

On January 1st, 2022, the war ended in a Eagle victory, but historians say it was a draw due to the final battle of Oblast highway and the equal amount of losses in the war from both sides. People thought that a third war would come again and for the worst. But the worst was not from war, but from nature and climate change.

In 2030, the first EF6 tornado hit the eagle town of Wallace. Multiple people lost their lives, and the damage cost was 600,000$.

In 2032, massive lightning storms hit the Raven coasts and 1 billion people were displaced all around the world.

In 2035, the worst has finally come. The second great depression has begun. Following the market crash in December of 2034, millions could not afford anything, and inflation rates skyrocketed as more and more money became worthless.

In 2037, people began to bond together, forming the group No-pats, the non-Patriated. Stateless warriors fighting for survival. Viewing their potential, the two superpowers adopted them into their government system. People begin to adapt to the new norm. People begin to rebuild and adapt to the new world of climate change chaos.

In 2038, both nations signed a pact to not enter any war or proxy war to avoid further destruction and displacement.

In 2040, things took a dark turn. A satellite, first launched in 1999 by the eagles, malfunctioned and fired a global emp on the world. Tensions rose faster than you could imagine. Both sides pointed fingers, but some were skeptical that it was the no-pats that caused it. People braced for another war to happen again.

In 2042, the only way forward is war. No-Pats start picking sides of who to fight for, not for country or loyalty, but for survival. This war… Is their story.

CHAPTER 4: The War Of 2042

The first battle took place in Doha. The battle lasted nearly an hour and the Eagles lost 700 men while the ravens lost 900. The eagles won the battle, but the war is far from over.

The Battle of New Guiana, Code-name: Orbital, was an eagle experiment to launch a prototype weapon into space and orbit. The Ravens sabotaged the rocket and the explosion took out nearly half of the launch site. But during the battle, a storm came. A tornado was coming their way and the battle was a draw, though the sabotage was a success.

In the South Pole, a fight for oil took place as the Eagles won by taking out the research facility and setting dominance there. However, during the battle in the icy sea, the raven navy rained fire on the Eagle navy. The war was taking a drastic turn with technology and war. Drones and unmanned aircraft were being sent into battle with one purpose, to kill the enemy and stop them from winning.

This is the conflict that puts the world at the crossroads, no more nations are left, and there are only two superpowers left.

Eagle and Raven; No-Pats must choose between the two of them, or die alone.

[This photo taken in 2042 shows an Raven sniper in the blizzard during the Battle of the South Pole.]

By then during this time period, the old uniforms were getting out of style. It was then when the new uniforms for the No- Pats came in. Though both had different designs, they both had similar features. Each uniform was for a different class. Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon.

[An Raven No-Pat standard uniform pack shows four classes that the No-Pats can fill into, as seen here.]
[An Eagle No-Pat standard uniform pack shows four classes for the No-Pats to fill into, as seen here.]

It must be clear that no one is going to win this war due to endless conflict. The recent battle of the south pole devastated both sides enough that even a small country would forfeit. The Battle of Urdow Fields was once a battlefield back in the Leersog war, but it is now used as a fight to the death now in 2042. The total count of personnel combined by both sides were 2,400 men. Nearly 1,200 on each side.

The Battle of British Columbia, Codename: Exposure was a Raven victory as they used the mountains to their advantage. As it saw the first ever use of tunnel warfare when soldiers were making their way through the mountain, they often found themselves in tunnels, sometimes even lost in them. The ravens used this to their advantage.

On the third day of the battle, Ravens in the middle of the night placed C4 in the tunnels and took out Eagle patrol guards swiftly and quietly. When morning struck, they detonated it. What the Ravens did not expect however was for the whole cliff-side to collapse.

Eagle troops felt a rumbling. Rocks were falling, and the officers shouted at the troops to fall back out of the battle, the entire cliff-side was about to collapse on them. It was clear the Ravens won the battle, but some of their own troops were too caught in the collapse.

Only a few Raven and Eagle soldiers made it out alive in transport helicopters.

SECTION 4.1: The Experiments

Following the battle of The South Pole, many experiments were started by Eagle and Raven. One of the first major project by the ravens was their Boss battleship, an LCS class boat that could control autonomous MQ-101 drones. Though powerful, the Eagles launched a strike force and destroyed the Battleship, leaving it to sink into the blue of the ocean

After the attack, the Ravens had another project at the ready, the Arsenal Wing. Using their Hussar Fighter jets, the Eagles were able to take down the Arsenal Wing, with the loss of naval ships and fighters, in total the damage being over $200,000

But that was not all, the Ravens have been preparing a chemical weapon to use against Eagle positions and bases. This was called; Operation: Router. Although the name may seem silly at first, they gave it this because the second you breathe this deadly gas in, it causes you and your squad to route out of the base.

It's own first use began in 2042 in the month of November, for the Eagles used it in an on-going trench battle that was a stalemate. When used, the toxic and ill-yellow gas crept on the trenches of the Ravens; not expecting this to happen since they were busy celebrating their last assault at the Battle of British Columbia.

Once the gas reached them, their throats began to contract and feel like sharp needles piercing them. At the same time, the gas had a neurotoxin that caused the brain to enable a chemical that caused the person to flee, the the troops fled they did.

In the end, both of these experiments were used in the war, but both ended up being discontinued in December due to potential friendly fire counts.

SECTION 4.2: Peace

On January 1st, 2043, the war was nearing its end.

The losses were tremendous, nearing practically 200,000 losses in the war, including another 3 million civilian casualties involved; thus making it at least 3.2 million losses in the war.

After all the experiments, the battles, the bloodshed, this day had the world stand still...

Almost as if peace was here...

And at 12:00, January 1st, 2043, the war... was over.

The National Freebird Treaty stated that any other war caused that breaks the treaty shall result in all nations in the war being rid of their military assets.

And thus, the world rejoiced.

Family's were rebuilding, old and forgotten nations rose again, and one thing was true to everyone....

War... was no longer a thing
