Little introduction thingy...I guess.

So, you're here to learn about all of the newt altar locations...obviously.
Well this guide will teach you just that! If you somehow didn't know already.
Also, sorry for bad writing or english.
Oh and also, if I somehow forgot to put one of the altars, let me know!

Distant Roost ver.1

The first stage is Distant Roost (the first version).
This stage has only one newt that I personally HATE, and you're about to see why.

Yep, sometimes it can be locked behind a door, but don't worry...well...if you're playing as mercenary at least, because you can actually clip through the door with your dash (kinda cool), so as long as you're playing as merc this shouldn't be a problem.
Anyways.

If the door is unlocked, or you just nocliped through it, the newt can spawn behind this pillar.

The next newt is also kinda dogs*it because the bridge that leads you there can not spawn sometimes, but if you can fly, or if the bridge just spawned, the newt can spawn behing this rock.

The last, and certainly the most fair out of them all, is this one that can spawn in this hole, so as long as your brain is not seriously damaged, you should make it.
Getting out will result in taking some fall damage if you don't have a way out, so don't die you idiot.

That's all the newts for this stage (or at least for this variant of it).
I don't think memorizing 3 newts is that hard honestly, so I give this stage a 6.5/10 (when it comes to newts).

Distant Roost ver.2

Alright, here goes the same stage, except it's a little different this time, and its newts aren't as bulls*it and RNG based.
How exciting!

So the first newt is pretty simple, it should be under this little arch.

The next is another simple one, this time it's on the top of an arch.

The last (and worst) is again, behind a door, and guess what.

The door can be locked...again. So if you're not mercenary, and it's in there, then you're pretty much screwed.

Once you get in it should be pretty easy to find.

So this stage is deffinitely better than the last with it's newts, so for that I give it a score of 7.5/10 and a golden star!

Titanic Plains ver.1

Here goes my favorite first stage (outdated), Titanic Plains, this stage is pretty cool.
That's all I have to say about it.

The first newt should be pretty easy to spot, it's on that giant arch thing.
I guess if your survivor has no mobility or abilities that can get you up there then you can't get it but idk.

The next newt is under this bridge.

Another simple one is on the top of this hill.

And lastly, this one spawns all the way up there, so good luck getting it.

Beeg onion rings.

Titanic Plains ver.2

The worse version of titanic plains, or at least the one that i like less (it's still fu*king awesome).

This stage's newts require some more mobility, so if you're playing duos or trios (or more), and you have a loader or mercenary on your team then they should be getting most of the newts here.

So the first newt, and also the easiest, is right next to this arch.

The next is on top of this hill.

And the last one is at the top of this arch.

Beeg onion rings pt.2

Siphoned Forest [SOTV]

Siphoned Forest, my least favorite stage 1, and it's for 2 main reasons:
  1. The newts.
  2. Blind pests
I do like however how this stage looks, it doesn't beat rallypoint delta when it comes to a snowy area tho.
and I guess it's kinda fun to grapple around as loader here.

The first newt is in this little cave, and you guessed it.
It can be fu*king blocked off by some random s*it, AGAIN.
And idk if it's just me, but on this stage it happens more often than on the others.

If you do manage to get in it should be pretty easy to find tho.

The next one is on top of that tree.

And...well...good luck getting all the way up there, especially on stage one.

And the last, and least bulls*it out of them all is located right here.

2/10 FIRETRUCK YOU

Verdant Falls.

The new stage introduced in the devotion update, the update itself was pretty mid, but the stage is probably my favorite stage 1 so far
(oh, and we also got THE PRISONER SKIN for my boy MERC).

The first, and easiest newt to find is in the underground section of the map.

It should spawn right here.
It's also the first one that I found btw.

The next is behind this waterfall.

You can easily get there by walking on the big vine (or root).

And the last (and worst) is on that rock shelf.
Also good luck trying to get there as some survivors.

Also I wanted to say that this stage has a "guaranteed" scraper on the top of the broken ship.

But of course, it can sometimes be replaced by a large chest instead.

A pretty good stage overall, as I said earlier.

I give it a score of 9/10 ig.

Shattered Abodes [SOTS]

Shattered Abodes is one of the new stages added in the "Seekers of the Storm" DLC, it's also the first out of the two new stages you can find outside of the alt path (the other one being Hellminth Hatchery).

The first newt can spawn on the back side of the map behind this.... rock?

The next one can spawn down here behind this structure.

And the last one which is a guaranteed spawn is placed on the leaking roof (if you get the reference).

Overall, this stage is an amazing addition to the game, that I whish I actually got to see OMG I NEVER ROLL THIS ONE GOH DAMN.

Disturbed Impact [SOTS]

Disturbed Impact is the alternative version of Shattered Abodes, which you can find during a loop.
It's also the only stage variant with unique newt locations believe it or not.
However, the newts spawn in similar locations, which may or may not help.

The first one can spawn down here almost in the same exact spot as the one on Shattered Abodes.

The next one can spawn next to the big stone door (the door is behind me btw).

And the last one, which is a guaranteed spawn, should be up here.

I don't have much to say about this stage tbh...
It's cool that it has it's own newt spawns.

Wetland Aspect.

The first stage 2 we're gonna talk about is probably one of my favorites, Wetland Aspect.
Yeah I just like it, not gonna say too much again, cuz this guide is about newt altars, and not about my opinion on every stage (ACTUALLY NOW I THINK IT'S PRETTY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ LAME LOL).

The first newt is at the top of this tree.
And unlike siphoned forest, you can actually just climb onto it using the other tree next to it.

Next is this newt that's on top of this cliff.

And sometimes you can just use the bouncepad thingie to get on, but sometimes it's locked behind a wall.

And lastly, my favorite newt is in the water right here.

I land on his aspect 'till I'm wet.

wait what

Abandoned Aqueduct.

This stage is also very solid, but there's one problem, and that problem is that I don't like sand.

Anyways, the first newt is the easiest to spot, and also, from my observations, it spawns quite often.

Next newt, that has a guaranteed spawn, is this one in that giant skeleton.

And surprisingly you can actually get up here normally by just going along this path.

And lastly, the most forgettable newt of all, is this one up there. There's literally almost no reason to grab it ever.

Only 3 newts, but that makes this stage a lot better cuz you're gonna spend quite a lot of time looking for the 2 buttons and then pot rolling so...

Oh, and I give this stage's newts a 8/10 ig.

Aphelian Sanctuary [SOTV]

WHAT IS THAT MELODY

The first newt is down there in the wall.

The next one is under that bridge.

And lastly, we have this one, and do I really need to explain why this one sucks?

7/10 stage.
F#?!CK YOU BLIND PESTS

and vermin..

and clay templars...

Reformed Altar [SOTS]

The first stage of the path of the colossus is the Reformed Altar, it features sand, and GIANT STONE FEET

The first newt can spawn all the way up there, inbetween the FEET.

The next should spawn up there.

The next one is behind this rock.

And the last one, which is a guaranteed spawn (yes this stage has one of those newts) should spawn up there.

This stage is pretty cool, I like feet.

Pretender's Precipice [AC]

The new stage 2 added in the "Alloyed Collective" expansion, It's full of empty solus shells, now turned into bird houses for the vultures (spooky).

The first new can spawn in the crashed ship on top of the hill.

The second newt can spawn on top of this tree.

And finally, the last newt can spawn in this hidden cave on the edge of the map.
I'd like to note that in here you will always find a FREE drone

Overall, pretty cool stage, a very good addition to the game, considering how very few stage 2 options there were before (Wetland Aspect doesn't count btw it sucks. And Reformed Altar is unfortunately tied to the alt path :<).

Rallypoint Delta.

Russia?

So, the first newt is behind that tree.

And the second one is behind this rock, very simple, I know.

There's also this guaranteed newt up here for some reason. There's literally no reason to go for it EVER.

And also here's a second screenshot that I took, cuz I didn't know which one to choose.

Sulfur Pools [SOTV]

Next up, we have sulfur pools.
This stage exists to make you suffer, it smells like s*it in here, and don't get me started on those sulfur pods (just destroy them before anyone gets hurt, alr?).
AND THEY MADE IT EVEN WORSE WITH SOLUS DISTRIBUTORS WTF GUYS.

The first newt is on that platform under the bridge.

Next we have this newt that spawns on top of that rock with those kind of egg looking things.

And last, but certainly not least, we have this one under the platform.

The newts on this stage aren't as terrible as the stage itself, 8/10 (for the newts of course).

Scorched Acres.

Scorched Acres is the last stage 3 variant we'll be talking about (are you sure?).
And it might be the only stage that can spawn multiple newts at once (not including the guaranteed ones).

The first newt, and the one that has a guaranteed spawn rate, is located on that seemingly out of bounds but not really part of the map.

it should be right here.

Next one is on the edge of this cliff.

Right here.

And, surprise surprise, the bridge that leads to this part of the map can randomly decide to not exist.
Fun fact: no loot will spawn there whenever that happens (thank God).

Last newt spawns under this platform.

This stage's newts get a 6/10 from me, not bad.

Treeborn Colony [SOTS]

The last stage you're gonna go to before facing the False Son is Treeborn Colony.
HUGE SPOILER it has trees.

The first one can spawn on this ball looking structure.
ANOTHER ONE CAN SPAWN ON TOP OF THE SAME STRUCTURE ON THE PLATFORM TO THE LEFT

And just to make this shorter, most of the newts spawn under the platforms in almost the same spot
(only on the platforms with the half ball structure, excluding the middle one, you shouldn't have too much problem finding them)

Apologies for not providing every single screenshot, i just think that they were not necessary.

Oh yeah, and the stage is cool.

Also, in case you were wondering, Golden Dieback has the same exact spots.

Iron Alluvium [AC]

The new stage 3 added in the "Alloyed Collective" expansion, placed in an abandoned mine in the middle of a desert, with a big ass drill in the middle.

The first newt can spawn in the upper part of the drill (idk how to better describe it).

The second newt can spawn on this lil cliff.

And the last newt can spawn on this part of the drill inside of the cave.

Sick stage, kinda looks like Black Mesa or something idfk.

Sundered Grove.

MY FAVORITE STAGE 4 IT'S WAAAAAAAAY TOO OVERHATED.

The first newt is on a mushroom at the top of the tree.

Next one is inside this giant ass log.

And last one is right there in the underground section of the map.

Now..
Peek this sick organ guitar solo

Abyssal Depths.

Idk how our lovely UES crew got to hell, but im digging it.

The first newt is on top of that crystal hanging from the ceiling.

The next newt is in that cave looking area but guess what.
THE DOORS CAN GET CLOSED AGAIN BABY YEEEEEES WE'RE BACK TO THE FU*CKING CLOSING DOORS AGAIN LET'S GOOOOOOOO.

If you do stumble onto a closed door you can just jump onto the little platform above the door.

And the newt CAN spawn right here.

And if you get lucky and have the door opened, the newt is hidden in that crystal.

So, one RNG newt and two normal newts.
Not bad, I give it a 7/10.

Also I GUESS the ceiling one can SOMETIMES be tricky to get too but don't worry about it too much.
There's worse things to worry about on this stage.
oh trust me...

Siren's Call.

So now we're out of hell (if you're reading this guide in the correct order) and now we're onto the OTHER hell, a.k.a Siren's Call, a.k.a.The Ship Graveyard (spooky).

Did I mention that you can get a free red on this stage? I know. Sick af.
Tho with the inclusion of sale star, not having a red chest REALLY REALLY sucks.
And even if you don't have one, fighting the Alloy Worship Unit is way more ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying.

But anyways.

The first newt is under this ring thingy.

Next newt is all the way up on that metal box.

Did I mention that the path to it can sometimes...NOT SPAWN?????

The last newt is in that hole on one of the spikes.

If you have at least 5 working braincells and minimal experience in platforming you'll get it without a problem.

Those were the newts.

8/10 newts.
One Jeffrey Epstein/100 stage tho.

Repurposed Crater [AC]

The new stage 4 added in the "Alloyed Collective" expansion, it gives me strong Robo Quest vibes idk why.

The first newt can spawn next to the big robo door gate thing.

The second newt can spawn up here.

And finally, the last newt can spawn inside of this broken tube on top of the same big robo door gate thing from before.

Probably my least favorite AC stage, I don't really know how I feel about it.
The reason for that could be the fact that at the time of writing this I've only been there 5 times...

Sky Meadow.

The last stage in this guide is sky meadow, the only stage 5 in the game, or at least at the moment of writing this guide (that did not age too well).

The first newt can be found under this rock.

The next one is behind this rock.

There's another one here.

Another one next to that hole.

And the last one is next to another hole.

This stage may have the most newts out of all (yeah totally), but all of them are very easy to get, so this stage gets a 9.5/10.

Hellminth Hatchery [SOTS]

The new stage 5 introduced in the "Seekers of the Storm" expansion, it's the second stage in the DLC that you may encounter outside of the new path, the first one being Shattered Abodes.
You can also get sent here if you choose to continue your run after defeating the False Son (not anymore lol).

Let's start with the guaranteed newt on this stage, it spawns in the mouth of the giant Direseeker carcass.

The next one is in this building.

And another one can spawn in another building.

In this one to be more specific.

There's also this one here, under one of the bridges.

The next one can spawn on the bottom of the map.

And the last one can spawn at the top of this tower.

This stage is pretty cool.
BOTH THE SONGS SLAP.

Little outro thingy...I guess.

So, now you can say with all pride that you know all of the newt altar locations.
Or at least I hope so.

I also wanted to thank you for reading all the way through my guide! (or at least some of it).
It was a lot of fun to make, and I'd appreciate if you'd leave a like, comment, or maybe even an award if you're feeling extra generous today.

Rock and Stone!
wait wrong game
