Introduction

Why, hello there!

With the intention to help those having trouble finding the Secret Levels (and also those lazy enough to even look for them), I created this guide (and forced a friend to help me find and reach all of them in co-op; thanks, Ghost <3).

But why am I doing this? To help some guys find those, of course! Because they also give gems (9 of them per level if you get an "A++" in it, which is... well... kind of impossible to miss, I guess), and because I have really nothing else to do, aside irritating my dear friend Ghost. By writing this guide, I give myself something to keep my mind busy and also create a great opportunity to annoy my little friend, and everything for the sake of the community! Yay!

So, I hope this guide can be of use to anyone out there. But if it's not, Ghost will get even more pissed, and that is cool, too!

How to know if the Level you are in has a Secret Level hidden in it?

To those who doesn't know, Secret Levels can be found by stepping on a certain block that looks exactly like the other common blocks. But then how can you find them? Well, you can certainly count on luck... But if you don't trust yours, then be on the lookout for this little guy:

At first glance, you may think this strange creature is a mere stage decoration. But after playing at least one whole chapter, think again: why there's only one of it through the chapter? Because it's hiding something, that's for sure. What is this "something" it's hiding? Think: you can find six things in levels: gems, yarns, jetpacks, heli-packs, wings and golden hats, and all of them aren't signaled by this guy, so it must be hiding something else. If you thought of "Secret Level" as the answer, then you're absolutely right!

How can I enter a Secret Level?

Like I said before, you need to step in a certain block. Those blocks are camouflaged between the common blocks, usually hidden in some place that doesn't have any gem or yarn and looks like a totally useless place in the map, so, if you see the little pink thingy in the stage, be sure to look anywhere!

But if you're too lazy to do it by yourself, just keep reading this guide.

Chapter 1 [Solo & Co-Op]

The first one is somewhat easy to miss, mainly because it's in one of the first levels and you usually won't know about the flying pink eyeball with antenna, but as easy it is to miss, it's also easy to access.

In the co-op, it's hidden in the same level and place.

It's hidden in level 1-7, that is, Act 3, Scene 1.

Right at the start of the level, you should face the birdy thingy.

Just go up until you reach the very first laser and you should end up here:

Now, just wait for the laser to go out and then drop in the orange block.

You will fall right onto the entrance and will witness a Mario-like transition. Enjoy your very first Secret Level!

Chapter 2 [Solo]

Ok, so, for chapter 2, you might go looking in the second scene of the first act, or stage 2-2.

Just proceed to the level until you reach this point:

Now, go to this second exploding block and wait for it to detonate itself.

As you see, you will hit the magma block and will be launched into a portal to the start of the level. You will probably fall right into the entrance, but, if not, just walk to the far right block. Welcome to the second Solo Secret Level!

Chapter 2 [Co-Op]

Now, if you're playing co-op, you and your dear frienemy shall want to go looking into level 2-4.

Now, just proceed the level normally until you reach this checkpoint:

(Yup, my friend was, I mean, IS laggy. You simply have absolutely no idea of how much glitches this creates in games with her, I guess that's why I like to play with her. And yeah, it's a girl... Well... Sort of... I mean, if you ignore the boy-like appearance, the moustache, and the fact that she only uses boy clothes, I'm pretty sure you can find her girl side hidden somewhere beneath some testosterones. And yeah, I do know she'll kill me for this.) Push the block and make your friend jump onto the top of this small block stairs and then jump above their head to reach the higher platform.

Now give them a helping hand and then one of you should jump to the other side and press the button of the hardlight bridge. The other one must go to the very end of the bridge.

Now let it go of the button and the one on the bridge should fall right onto the entrance. Enjoy the funniest Secret Level of them all!

Chapter 3 [Solo]

Now, for the third solo Secret Level, go to level 3-9.

Proceed normally until you reach this point:

Ok, so, jump onto the magma block to get to the upper floor. Wait for the cat to fire a dart onto the wall and use it to climb to the white block above.

Now just jump to the white block to the right and you will enter the third Secret Level.

Chapter 3 [Co-Op]

For the third co-op Secret Level, go to level 3-8.

You may notice the pinky thingy right above you, onto the detonating blocks.
The entrance is actually to the right. One of you should prepare to judo throw at the very end of the little "island".

The other should just be thrown and don't worry, those are actually false blocks. You/she/he will end up in the entrance.

Chapter 4 [Solo & Co-Op]

This one is in level 4-7.

The same goes to the Co-Op counterpart

Right at the start, you will notice the bird and a not-even-suspicious place below.

(Yeah, my friend wanted the gem that much) Now, instead of going like my friend there and getting yourself killed by the laser down there, just jump to the magma blocks and you'll reach a higher platform with a rock (In the co-op, there's also a gem to the left between some white false blocks. I had already got it before I took this screenshot but you can still see its empty space there).

Grab the rock and go throwing it from treadmill to treadmill, but careful to not let it fall into the water, or else you will need to restart the level (or try your luck out and reach the entrance without it).

Now, throw it onto the lower treadmill and jump after it. It will protect you from the laser.

Now you're in the chamber. Go to the right and enjoy the Secret Level!

Chapter 5 [Solo]

The fifth solo Secret Level is hidden in level 5-8.

Proceed normally until you pass through the portal and reach this area:

Now wait for the blocks to disappear and drop down to the ice to get pushed by the fan until the other side. Instead of going up, return to the ice, and put yourself onto the last catapult. It will throw you to an isolated chamber above.

Just go to the block at the far left and you'll find the entrance.

Chapter 5 [Co-Op]

For chapter 5's co-op version, go to the level 5-1.

Just go all the way until you reach the second checkpoint (the one near the yarn).

Now, go to the right, dodge the sawblade and jump onto the magma blocks to reach the upper platform.

Ok, this will require timing and may be a little tricky, depending on your skills. Stay right behind the tree. Now wait for the cat to fire a Force Ball, and then jump and land directly above the Force Ball when it gets near the wall above you (standing above your friend might make things easier). The force created should be enough to push you to get to the upper platform, but careful not to hit the magma block on the wall.

Now drop into that hole and you will fall right into the entrance.

Note: There are five alternative ways to reach this entrance:
The first one requires luck and patience. One of you should just jump to the magma block, hold on to the bar and climb to the top, standing still at the platform, then wait there. The other one should kill themselves until they respawn onto the other platform, then they just need to drop to the entrance.
The second is pretty much like the original method, and you can do this if you killed the cat. To be able to do this, you or your friend must have the Force Ball. The one with that weapon then goes to where the cat was and shoots it. The other one must simply jump onto it to be thrown upwards.

The third method is similar to the second, but needs the Acid Bubble instead. Make your way to the top of the upper left platform and make your friend stay below you, where the cat was. Tell them to shoot an Acid Bubble and just jump onto it (The second screenshot shows you where the Acid Bubble should approximately be for you to reach the other platform).

For the fourth one you will need a Dart Gun and can be a little more frustrating. So, I guess it's pretty straight forward, but, just to fulfill the guide: One of you must climb to the top of the left platform, then jump and fire a Dart on the right wall for it to hook onto it. Now just get up there as fast as possible and use it as a platform (It helps if both of you climb up there before firing the dart, or if you move the block above the sawblade). This is the appoximate height the Dart should be:

Finally, the fifth method requires a little patience and glitching. Climb the bars as you normally would to proceed into the level, then go to your left and drop down. Enter the clouds to the right and grab the block from the right. Now push it near the clouds.
Ok, so position yourself into the cloud, near the opposite end from the block, but without getting out of it (like in the screenshot above). Now, without moving, grab it and it may pass through the clouds like this:
Now just pull it out from the cloud and take it to the gap.
Place it like in one of those screenshots below and you should be able to reach the other side now.

Chapter 6 [Solo & Co-Op]

It doesn't matter if you're in solo or co-op, for this one, you may wish to get to level 6-2.

It's hidden near the start of the level, just get to this spot (after being launched by the fan). In the co-op, you'll get the first checkpoint here.

Now get the heli-pack and fly to the far right, evading the second row of magma blocks, or else you'll get trapped in the upper floor. If you're solo, then careful with the spikes; if you're in co-op, wait for the laser to go out and kiss the wall, young sir. Wait for the character to drop down and pass through some false blocks.

Then go behind the "tree". In the co-op, the entrance is in the gray block after the little pool, with the "grass" in it. Welcome to the sixth Secret Level!

Chapter 7 [Solo]

This one is hidden in level 7-6.

To get to it, first you'll need to release the sawblade near the duckshark and, to do that, you'll need to drop the first boat onto the water and, to do that, you'll need to put your hands in the jetpack. So, at the start, go to the right and you'll face a branching point.

Go to your right, dodge the sawblade, then wait for the laser to go out and proceed by sliding beneath the second sawblade and jumping the third. You'll reach a magma block. Use it to reach the other one above and you stop on a regular block. Jump to the bar above and then to the right, using the slimy block above you to dodge the spikes, then pass some detonating blocks and jump to some slimy blocks to the right. Use then to pass by the sawblade above and reach the other side. Press the button to make the rocks fall and reveal a portal. It's your way back. Grab the jetpack and go into it.

You'll be at the branching point at the start again. Now use your jetpack to proceed upwards and pass by the sawblades. At this point in the game, you should know the jetpack has 3 uses. Spend them carefully. Once you're done with the blades, reach the slimy block and jump from one to another, avoiding the laser there. Now push the boat to drop it down. Jump down after the boat too.

Ok, so, as expected, you will fall in the water. Go to the right and push the block. Once you passed, grab the other side of the block and push it back to the wall it was. Hit or jump onto the duckshark egg to make it hatch. Now get out of its way and wait for it to stop at the spikes. Jump in its mouth to get launched to the other side. Now drop down and press one of the salmon/pink buttons. Wait for the sawblade to get out and jump back. Jump to the bar above, hidden by the salmon/pink disappearing blocks to jump to the detonating block by the right and get through the portal. You'll be at the start again.

Instead of going left, go right, to the first place you went to get the jetpack, but don't go all the way. Dodge the first sawblade and stop at the laser block before the second sawblade. You'll notice some disappearing blocks and a bar. Wait for them to disappear and jump to that bar and climb up. Go to the right and welcome to the seventh solo Secret Level!

Chapter 7 [Co-Op]

Co-op mode's seventh Secret Level is the only Secret Level to be hidden inside a level with a timer, and the only Secret Level to be hidden inside a finale. So... go to the seventh finale.

Now, the Secret Level is in the first finale of this chapter. Proceed to the left area, jump the water, climb the exploding blocks kill/ignore the cat in the ship, and then finally push the block onto the button. Evade the monster and climb up the stairs, reaching the rock being thrown by the catapult. Grab it and then put it away. Now go downstairs and get the other rock out of the way, then keep going through the corridor where this second rock was.

After the catapult, there's another false block, then there's a physical one, but there's a false block above it and one above the one after the catapult. Jump the physical block and keep going forward, you will see the bird.

Keep going right and you'll find the entrance right behind the "grass".

Chapter 8 [Solo & Co-Op]

The last Secret Level is hidden at level 8-3 and in the same place for both Solo and Co-Op.

Proceed normally through the level until you reach this part:

Pass to the other side of the wall through the teleporters. Now, if you're playing Co-Op, pass through the vanishing bridge; if you're in Solo, you'll face two laser beams. When you reach the end of the bridge/lasers, instead of going up, pass through the left wall – it's made of false blocks.

Now jump to the other side, onto the block with the "grass". Ta-da, Secret Level! This one is really fun and totally automatized. Enjoy!

FAQs

What is a Secret Level?
It's a hidden Bonus-like level where you can grab 7 extra gems and an extra yarn, and also 2 bonus gems by getting an "A++", but you don't need to worry about the timer stamp for those levels as they're very easy and made in a way that's supposed to easily give you an "A++", so just get the gems and the yarn and you're good to go.
How can I enter a Secret Level?
You can enter one by stepping on the entrance hidden in a normal level.
How can I find an entrance?
They look like a regular block, so you can't find them at first glance, but most of them are hidden in places where there's no gem or yarn and seem like a completely useless piece of the stage. Also, sometimes there's some "grass" and/or "trees" near them in a suspicious manner, making them obvious to spot. Usually you'll need to pass through some "false" blocks (you know, those that fade when you get through them) to get to them.
Does every level have a Secret Level?
Nope, only those with the pinky bird thing.
How many Secret Levels there are in a chapter?
Only one, for a total of eight Secret Levels.
What happens when I step in a Secret Level entrance?
Well... Ahm... You will be transported to the Secret Level, a whole new level, totally different from the one you were.
What am I supposed to do in a Secret Level?
Er... Grab the 7 gems and the yarn and then get out of it by stepping onto the exit block, maybe?
What happens if I finish a Secret Level?
Well, like any other level, you will keep the gems and yarn you got. You will also get 2 bonus gems for getting an A++, which is really hard to miss, unless you're willing to. You will then be teleported back to the chapter's main hub and the next level to that which the Secret Level was will be unlocked, like if you just finished it normally (e.g. you enter the Secret Level in level 6-2; once you finish it, level 6-3 will be available for you to play).
What happens to my rank of the level I was playing before entering the Secret Level?
As the game considers as if you just finished that level normally, the rank will be determined by the items you got in there before entering the Secret Level, like if you just stepped onto an exit block, but you can't get an "A++" by entering a Secret Level since you won't receive the timer stamp.
What happens to the items I got in the level I was playing before entering the Secret Level?
You keep them as you normally would and, like that, getting them again won't give you additional gems/yarn, unless you get one you didn't get before.
What happens if I enter a Secret Level while holding a Golden Hat?
Nothing different than if you finished the level with it: You'll keep the 10 gems. I don't know what happens in Co-Op if you're holding one and your friend enters the Secret Level. Probably you will keep it too.
Besides the yarns and the gems, what else can I get from a Secret Level?
When you first enters a Secret Level, doesn't matter if it's in solo or co-op, you get a secret achievement called "Secret Finder". Besides that and the gems/yarns, the only thing you can get is a satisfaction for finding and completing the Secret Level.
Is there any Secret Level hidden in an Encore?
Nope. The Secret Levels are hidden in normal, non-timed levels, except for the Chapter 7's Secret Level for the Co-Op that is hidden in the first finale.
