This is the ultimate guide to Salvaged Frigate Modules, where you’ll find all the best methods to get them.
The first three methods are, in my opinion, the most efficient, but I’ll let you decide which one fits your playstyle best.

Salvaged Frigate Modules can sometimes appear as rewards from guilds. In my case, I found them in the Merchant Guild, but this may vary: if you don’t see them, check the other guilds.
You don’t always need to reach the maximum rank, it depends on the guild and when you’re reading this guide.
The fastest way to increase reputation is to donate the requested items to the guild representative, who can be found in every space station.
Rewards can be claimed multiple times, but you need to wait about 72 hours for the reset.

Pros: free, good as an extra method.
Cons: slow, depends on reward resets.

Salvaged Frigate Modules are a fairly common reward for missions found either at the Anomaly (Nexus) or in space stations.
They won’t always be available, but sometimes you can find multiple missions at once that reward them.
In my opinion, this is the fastest method: once you start the mission, you’re guaranteed the module, unlike other methods where it’s only a possibility.

Pros: fast, guaranteed reward.
Cons: depends on mission availability.

You can find them by buying a locator from a Scrap Dealer (in every space station) for 5,000,000 units.
This device will lead you to a derelict freighter.
Once inside, loot as much as you can: sometimes you’ll find several Salvaged Frigate Modules, other times none at all.
After you complete your first derelict freighter, the NPC Helios on the Anomaly will give you the coordinates to a new derelict freighter once per week.

Pros: chance to find multiple modules, interesting method.
Cons: expensive (5 million per run), not guaranteed.

From your freighter, you can send frigates on expeditions.
The highest drop rate comes from industrial expeditions: the more stars the expedition has, the higher the chance of obtaining Salvaged Frigate Modules.
It’s a passive method, but quite slow.

Pros: doesn’t require direct effort, nice extra source.
Cons: low probability, slow results.

Probably the least efficient method.
In theory, you can find Salvaged Frigate Modules by scanning and opening the lootable containers around crashed freighters.
Personally, I’ve never found one this way, but some players online report that it’s possible.

Pros: free, worth checking when you find one.
Cons: extremely low chances, lots of wasted time.

While traveling through space, you’ll often encounter freighters.
You can approach their cargo pods and scan them to see what’s inside. If it shows “Salvaged Frigate Module”, you can shoot and destroy the pod to collect it.
Be careful though: destroying cargo pods makes you lose reputation with the freighter’s species. Since the latest updates, this also happens in pirate systems.

Pros: immediate way to get a module.
Cons: reputation loss with factions, risky.
