DID REP+ BREAK YOUR CONTROLLER ON LINUX? FIX IT HERE
DOES YOUR REPENTANCE+ CONTROLLER IS BROKE?
Did you try to open Repentance+, only to find your controller all bjorked on your Steam Deck or even your brand new Steam Machine? Directions swapped, you can't find the confirm button, and it overwhelms you before you can even get to the control settings?!
Have you looked EVERYWHERE for a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ solution but haven't found it, because it's PROBABLY only an issue with the Steam Controller on Linux SPECIFICALLY and EVERYONE else in that situation just rebound it to a keyboard because they have two braincells to rub together but YOU don't want that because it stops the face buttons from firing tears?!?
If you said all to the above; can i suggest selfcest?
I'm probably the only person in the world with this exact issue with this exact desire, so i doubt anyone else will need it.
However, if, by some miracle, someone other than me, needs an answer to fixing this problem, in THIS exact way, under these exact circumstances, the answer is as follows...

THE SOLUTION:
Just change the Compatibility option to Proton 9.0-4, under the "Compatibility" tab inside of TBoI's Properties inside of steam.
It's seriously that simple.
It's upsetting i didn't do this myself sooner.
