The Binding of Isaac – Full Boss Unlock Roadmap

🔹 STEP 1 — Early Game Progression

1️⃣ Kill Mom once

Unlocks:

Womb (Depths II → Womb I) progression
You must defeat Mom to progress deeper into the game.

2️⃣ Kill Mom’s Heart 11 times

Unlocks:

It Lives
Access to Sheol and Cathedral
Angel Rooms become more important
After 11 kills, Mom’s Heart permanently becomes It Lives.

🔹 STEP 2 — Sheol & Cathedral

After unlocking It Lives:
1️⃣ Kill Satan 5 times (Sheol path)

Unlocks:

The Negative
Access to The Dark Room

How:

Take the Negative after Mom
Go to Sheol
Defeat Satan 5 times

2️⃣Kill Isaac 5 times (Cathedral path)

Unlocks:

The Polaroid
Access to The Chest

How:

Take the Polaroid
Go to Cathedral
Defeat Isaac 5 times

🔹 STEP 3 — Final Floor Bosses

1️⃣ Kill ??? (Blue Baby) in The Chest

Unlocks:

Nothing major immediately
Required for later progress

2️⃣ Kill The Lamb in The Dark Room

Unlocks:

Key progression for Mega Satan

🔹 STEP 4 — Mega Satan

Requirements:

Collect 2 Key Pieces from Angel statues
Enter Mega Satan door

1️⃣ Kill Mega Satan once

Unlocks:

Chance to access Delirium
Begins Void progression

🔹 STEP 5 — Hush Unlock

1️⃣ Kill Mom’s Heart / It Lives under 30 minutes

Unlocks:
Blue Womb
Boss: Hush

2️⃣ Kill Hush 3 times

Unlocks:
The Void
Boss: Delirium

🔹 STEP 6 — Delirium

1️⃣ Kill Delirium

Final Void boss
Required for many completion marks.

🔹 Repentance Endgame (Final Route)

If you own Repentance:

Unlock Alt Path

Kill Hush 3 times

Unlocks:

Downpour
Mines
Mausoleum

Unlock Mother

Steps:

Collect both Knife Pieces
Open Flesh Door
Defeat Mother

Kill Mother once to unlock:

Tainted Characters mechanic

Unlock Dogma & The Beast

Steps:

Reach Mausoleum/Gehenna
Get Dad’s Note
Go Home
Fight Dogma
Fight The Beast

Kill The Beast to:

Unlock Tainted versions of characters
