How to Fix All Known Fixable Problems

+ Ability to configure and save options, some of which are not accessible in game
+ Movement with arrow keys will be possible
+ In game key rebinding will now save
+ Optional cheats
+ Tutorial will function correctly
+ Intro will play (sound only, but the file can be seen+heard in entirety)
+ Events will trigger properly
+ English dialog will trigger properly

- all music
(all sound effects and dialog work, just no music or ambience. Confirmed to never be fixed other than putting the music files in a playlist or keeping one on repeat.)
- all Steam overlay within the game
(Only seeing friends logging into games, seeing messages, and broadcasting function correctly. Confirmed to never be fixed due to lack of dev access to code.)
- Steam screenshots

- the inability to use windowed mode, even in windowed mode

The devs have been patching out as many problems as they can. They do not have access to the code, so their ability to fix things is a bit limited.

This will allow the arrow keys to turn your dragon, capability to change a wide variety of options, and optional cheats.

1. Download this file for English: http://deadmasters.home.t-link.de/Temple-Downloads-CIOTD1.2eng.html

2. Unpack file anywhere in “The I of the Dragon” directory.
3. Open “IOTD-Config-1.2-English”
4. Open “The I of The Dragon Config” (also, open “Readme – English” for more information.)
5. Click “Grafic 2” (yes, it is spelt that way, lol)
6. Click “VSync ON” and make sure there is a check there.
7. Change all other options accordingly.
8. DO NOT click the "Start Game" button in this configuration pannel. Doing this will corrupt how the game opens with a "Direct 3D Initialization Error". Some other options can also cause this and it is even possible to have this error from the point of game installation. The top file called "IOTD-Standard" can be used to reset your registry back to its original stable state.

This will remove the introduction that for some does not work properly and can even crash the game for others.

1. Open up your directory for this game

2. Find "The I of the Dragon\Data\Video"
3. Watch this file once if you want to see the intro
4. Delete the entire file “Video”

This will allow all in game key bindings to save.

"I put Dimap.dll from http://www.nfscars.net/underground2/file/17510/ into IotD folder, and my key bindings are (seemingly) working.

key bindings stores in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\DirectX\DirectInput\User Maps"

This will fix the tutorial and all missions that previously would not trigger.

2. Unpack file in the file location of “The I of the Dragon\Data”
3. Delete the double script folder if applicable.
   * Requires the staring of a new game to work.

This will fix all English dialog in the game.

3. Delete the double English folder if applicable.
   * Requires the staring of a new game to work.

This will cause the intro to play whenever the game is started. Intro can be skipped with any action. Skip this step in entirety if you do not want the intro to play upon startup.
