You need this stuff to make the game work:

• Deus Ex in steam

• Windows (This doesnt work on Linux)

• Compression tool (7-Zip / WinRAR, 7-zip much better)

• You need to download some files here, download everything from this google drive link:

How to find the game folder:
"SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Deus Ex"

Alternative method through Steam:

1. Open Steam
2. Click the gear icon
3. Select Manage
4. Click Browse local files

Installing DeusExe v8.1 patch:

1. Move "DeusExe-v8.1.zip" to Deus Ex\System (SteamLibrary > steamapps > common > Deus Ex System).
2. Open the zip file and extract only "DeusEx.exe".
3. Replace the existing file and delete the ZIP file.

Installing DeusExV2 patch:

1. Move "DeusExV2.zip" also to Deus Ex\System (SteamLibrary > steamapps > common > Deus Ex System).
2. Open the ZIP and extract the file inside.
3. Replace the existing file and delete the ZIP afterwards.

Installing the Map fix Patch:

1. You can do two things, either use the patch you got in the google drive link itself or go to the website and download the patch yourself: https://www.dxm.be/navigator.php5?lang=en&content=202 and choose the 7zip version.
2. Open the ZIP and extract the file inside Deus Ex (SteamLibrary > steamapps > common > Deus Ex).
3. Replace the existing files and delete the Zip afterwards.

Installing Direct3D 10 Renderer:

1. Move "d3d10drv-v29.zip" to Deus Ex\System (SteamLibrary > steamapps > common > Deus Ex System).
2. Open the ZIP and inside the Deus Ex folder, extract the files ("D3D10Drv.int" and "d3d10drv.dll") and the folder ("d3d10drv").
3. Replace files if asked and Delete the ZIP.

Press the deus ex start button, the Kentie's Launcher will appear:

2. Under UI:
   • Enable raw input
   • Enable widescreen cinematic subtitle fix (disable if your playing at 4:3)
   • Enable Use Custom GUI Scaling: if you are playing in 1080p/1440p use 1x, if 4k then 2x, if lower than 1080p then disable it.
3. Under Video Options:
   • Set Renderer to Direct3D 10 Support if playing on modern devices, if playing on older use Direct3D Support.
   • Set FPS limit to 120
4. Under View Port:
   • Use Borderless Fullscreen window, if having any issues like the menu screen not loading then use Fullscreen window but this mostly happens if you have choosen another renderer
5. Under Resolution:
   • You can only use this if you have Fullscreen or Windowed version activated, in the borderless one it will adjust to your monitor resolution
6. Under Audio:
   • Put Latency to 80, if you got any problems then at 100.
   • Enable DirectSound
7. Under Misc:
   • Leave the box uncheck.
8. Under Quality:
   • Enable 32 bit colour and detailed textures.
9. Field Of View:
   • Use Automatic. If you want it smaller or larger adjust it as whatever you like, but dont go below 80 or above 100.

How to Install:

1. Download the Renderer and open the DirectX 11 Renderer.7z archive. Navigate to the DirectX 11 Renderer\1.6.1 folder.
2. Unpack both the Common and DeusEx folders to your desktop and merge them into one folder.
3. Copy all files and folders from the merged folder into your Deus Ex\System folder.
4. Navigate to "SteamLibrary\Steamapps\Common\Deus Ex\System\deusex.ini"

I discovered this recently, i tested it a few minutes and works fine but i havent played the whole game with it, so there might be some issues since im not the creator of this patch for xbox controllers:

1. First go to here[github.com]
2. Then go to the download part and click on the "releases page" link
3. Download the last version and put "DeusEx.exe", "DeusEx.u" and "DXController.u" to the system folder (Steam\steamapps\common\Deus Ex\System)

• Revision Mod: Revision is a comprehensive overhaul of Deus Ex that pushes reinterpretation far beyond a simple modernization. Entire maps have been redesigned, some characters feature new voice actors, the iconic soundtrack has been changed, and many textures have been replaced with other asset, the mod is honestly really good, but as a result, it feels more like a fan-made remake than an enhanced version of the original game so i recommend playing it after playing deus ex vanilla.
