Light Armor

Light armored vehicles, including armored personnel carriers (APCs), infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs), and self-propelled anti-aircraft guns. All vehicles listed are amphibious.

BRDM-2
The BRDM-2 is an four-wheeled amphibious armored scout car. It is equipped with a 14.5 mm KPVT heavy machine gun and a 7.62 mm PKT coaxial medium machine gun. It has a crew of 2 (driver and gunner) with room for 2 passengers. The BRDM-2's armor is light enough that it can be defeated with .50 caliber machine guns or 40 mm grenades.

In lieu of its turret and machine guns, the BRDM-2 can also be equipped with an array of wire-guided anti-tank missiles. Some versions may also feature anti-aircraft missiles (not pictured.)

BMD-1
The BMD-1 is a tracked airborne amphibious infantry fighting vehicle. The turret is equipped with a 73 mm 2A28 "Grom" gun, that can fire HEAT and HE-FRAG rounds, as well as a 7.62 mm PKT coaxial medium machine gun. There are also two PKT machine guns on the front left and right of the BMD-1. The BMD-1 also has a 9M14 Malyutka wire-guided anti-tank missile mounted to the top of the cannon. Because the BMD-1 is designed to be transported by aircraft, it has exceptionally light armor that can be defeated by either .50 caliber or 40 mm fire. The BMD-1 has a minumum crew of 2 (driver, gunner) but also has 2 seats for PKT gunners. There are only 3 passenger seats, but many more personnel can ride on the outside of the vehicle.

Some versions feature 9M113 Konkurs wire-guided anti-tank missile instead.

BMD-2
The BMD-2 is the airborne amphibious infantry fighting vehicle designed to replace the BMD-1. Like the BMD-1, the BMD-2 is also amphibious. The BMD-2 is slightly larger than its predecessor and features a 30 mm 2A42 autcannon that can fire either AP or HE rounds. It also has an improved anti-tank missile system. Many features of the BMD-2 are identical to the BMD-1. The BMD-2 has a crew of 3 (driver, gunner, commander) and has one hull gunner seat. Similar to the BMD-1 there are only 3 interior cargo seats, but many more personnel can ride on the exterior.

BTR-70
The BTR-70 is an eight-wheeled amphibious armored personnel carrier. It is equipped with a turret similar to that of the BRDM-2, featuring a 14.5 mm KPVT heavy machine gun and 7.62 PKT medium machine gun. The BTR-70 has a crew of 3 (driver, gunner, commander) and seating for 7 passengers. The BTR-70 has relatively light armor and may be penetrated by .50 caliber machine guns.

BTR-90
The BTR-90 is an eight-wheeled amphibious armored personnel carrier. It is significantly larger than its predecessor, the BTR-70, and has a turret similar to the BMP-2. The BTR-90 is armed with a 30 mm 2A42 autocannon, a 7.62 mm coaxial medium machine gun, a 9M113 Konkurs wire-guided anti-tank missile, and a 30 mm AGS-17 grenade machine gun. The BTR-90 uses a crew of 3 (driver, gunner, commander) and room for 7 passengers. The BTR-90 has much stronger armor than previously mentioned vehicles, likely requiring anti-tank weapons to defeat it.

BMP-2
The BMP-2 is a tracked amphibious infantry fighting vehicle. The BMP-2 is equipped with a 30 mm 2A42 autocannon (HE and AP rounds), a 7.62 mm coaxial medium machine gun, a 9M113 Konkurs wire-guided anti-tank missile. It has a crew of 3 (driver, gunner, commander) and can hold up to 7 passengers. The BMP-2 is armored and requires anti-tank weapons to defeat it.

BMP-3
The BMP-3 is a tracked amphibious infantry fighting vehicle. The BMP-3 is equipped with a 100 mm 2A70 gun, a 30 mm 2A72 autocannon, and a 7.62 mm PKT coaxial medium machine gun. The 100 mm gun can firing the 9M117 Bastion laser-guided anti-tank missile as well as HE-FRAG rounds. The 30 mm autocannon can fire HE and AP rounds. There are also two 7.62 mm PKT machine guns on the front left and right of the BMP-3. The BMP-3 has a crew of 3 (driver, gunner, commander), 2 hull gunners, and seating for 7. The BMP-3 is heavily armored and requires anti-tank weapons.

ZSU-23-4 "Shilka"
The Shilka is a self-propelled anti-aircraft gun. It is equipped with quad 23 mm 2A7 anti-aircraft autocannons. It has a crew of 3 (driver, gunner, commander.)

2K22 "Tunguska"
The Tunguska is a self-propelled anti-aircraft gun and missile system. It is equipped with two 30 mm 2A38M anti-aircraft autocannons and eight 9M311 anti-aircraft guided missiles.
