MGO3 Handbook
Callouts, teamwork and communication.
Callouts, teamwork and communication, are the key to all success on MGO3 matches.
-------------------------------------------------
RADIO
--------------------------------------------------
Holding Q will give you communication on what you need to say to your teammates.
Use this to your advantage.
If you are grappled or being fultoned by a enemy, tapping Q repeatably will make your character say "I need help!" indicating that you are in danger, and need to be rescued.
Don't like your preset radio? You can change it by pressing ESC, OPTIONS and then Preset Radio customization. You're able to setup a more helpful radio preset with changing your presets.
Hold F, then look to the top left. You're able to place a marker. You have 3 marker types, a enemy spotted marker, a attack marker or a defense marker.
You are able to place down a enemy marker, attack marker or a defense marker. Your teammates can only see this, so use the marker often to make your teammates understand what you need help with.
Press T to switch the marker types.
Want more communication options? Hold Q then press G to switch modes.
With that being said, use this preset radio for serious callouts, teamwork and communication to win your MGO3 matches.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
VOICE CHAT
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Voice chatting is a alternative and the best way of communication to MGO3, because you are able to talk alot more freely, and be able to plan your strategy with your teammates alot easier.
If you have a microphone you can use it to play MGO3 and use the voice chat system for callouts, teamwork and serious communication.
The keybind to voice chat is B, Set by default.
"What is this buddy link thing? What are wormholes? What are buddy spawns?"
Buddy spawning allows you to wormhole to your teammate if you die. However, this will drain your buddy gauge.
E-RB WORMHOLE GEN
-----------------------------------
Using the wormhole generator when it fills up can either be used for traveling to your buddy's location or attaching a wormhole to the hostile. Using wormholes to travel to your buddy's location isn't recommended in bounty hunter, while using wormholes to extract the enemy is recommended.
(Note: If you stay close to your buddy, your buddy gauge will fill up more.)
If you use wormholes on a enemy player, wormholes cannot be interrupted. Refrain from using the wormhole Fulton if the person has a minimum recommendation for wormholes is when the enemy has a +5 bounty. Anything over +5 is recommended for wormhole.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Buddy Spawning
-----------------------
Buddy spawning is typically common for new players as they have no idea what that is.
Buddy spawns are not recommended in bounty hunter. Any game modes other than bounty hunter is ideal. Use the buddy spawn feature to your advantage by buddy spawning to your teammates location just to get a objective easier or help your teammate kill their enemies.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Buddy Gauge
-----------------------
The Gauge is displayed on a gray box on your buddy. The blue circle will indicate on how much progress you made for the gauge. The more close you are to your buddy, the more your buddy gauge fills up.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Buddy Link
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is your teammate being a dipshvit?
You can press V to do a "Appeal Action". In order to buddy link with your other teammate, press E to switch buddies. Your other teammate must start the link request in order for the buddy link to be successful.
MGO3 Gamemodes
Ah yes, the gamemodes.
--------------------------------------------
Bounty Hunter
--------------------------------------------
Bounty Hunter is like a team deathmatch, but with a twist.
2 teams will start with tickets displayed by blue (or red) color next to the radar to the top left.
You will notice a yellow text with a skull and also contains numbers, this indicate your bounty.
If you fulton someone with 5 bounty, and the fulton is successful, this will reset the enemy's bounty and give you the tickets depending on how much the bounty was worth. Note, your bounty will decrease depending on how many low to high bounties you fulton extract.
Non-Lethal will be recommended in this match.
--------------------------------------
Cloak and Dagger
--------------------------------------
Cloak and Dagger is a no respawn, stealth paced gamemode.
Defenders objective: They must prevent a data disc from being stolen, and prevent the attackers from delivering it to the evac point.
The Defenders will only carry lethal weapons.
Attackers: You're armed only with camouflage, a combat knife and non lethal weapons. If you do play the story mode of MGSV then this is a perfect gamemode for you.
All to success needs heavy teamwork.
This applies to the attacker and the defender teams.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Comm Control
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Comm Control is a "Stand Your Ground" gamemode that features 3 comm links.
The Attackers Objective is to hijack the comm links and download the enemy's data.
The more comm links you capture, the faster the data downloads.
The Defenders Objective: Prevent the comm links from being hijacked and defend them at all costs.
TIP: Captured Comm Links can be used as respawn points.
Anyone near a enemy captured comm link will have their radar scrambled.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sabotage
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Attackers must hack the terminals to disable the EM Barriers, allowing them to destroy (or fulton) the missile.
However the defenders won't give up their missile that easily. Plan your attack and strategies accordingly.
The Defenders must keep watch of the terminals and missiles to prevent damage and prevent attackers from fultoning the missile.
Just like the attacker information, plan your defenses and strategies accordingly.
how do i use fulton balloons, and how do i identify between a friendly or a hostile balloon?
-----------------------------------------------
Fultoning
-----------------------------------------------
You will need a tranquilizer weapon, and know how to use it.
Shoot the enemy with your wu pistol (or any other stun/zzz weapon) until they fall over with a ZZZ or a knocked out indication.
Now, you are able to fulton the unconscious enemy.
However this can be interruptable by another enemy. If your buddy gauge is filled up completely, you can use the wormhole on the unconscious enemy. The wormhole cannot be interrupted by a another enemy.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Knowing the difference.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are two seperate colors for fulton balloons, there is a blue and a red colored balloons.
If the balloon is colored red, shoot at the balloon until it pops.
If the balloon is colored blue, don't shoot it.
Cheaters, and how do I deal with them?
If all procedures fail you can leave the game and hope he doesn't join your next game of MGO3.
