1. Introduction & Missable Roadmap

The Golden Rule of the RDR2 100% Run
Red Dead Redemption 2 features 51 achievements. To get them all in a single playthrough, you must pay strict attention to 4 specific achievements tied to Camp Activities, Item Requests, and Optional Honor Missions. Once you leave Chapter 6, these achievements are gone for good!

---

⚠️ The 4 Highly Missable Achievements

1. Friends With Benefits
* Objective: Complete a Companion Activity in each camp (Chapters 2, 3, and 4).
* Tip: Check your camp map frequently for white icons labeled with names like Charles (Hunting), Javier (Home Robbery), or Lenny (Five Finger Fillet). Complete at least one per chapter before advancing the main story.

2. Errand Boy
* Objective: Deliver 5 camp companion item requests.
* Tip: Walk around camp in Chapters 2, 3, and 4. Companions will casually ask you for items (e.g., Jack wants a comic book, Sadie wants a harmonica). Deliver 5 total items to secure this.

3. Give to the Poor
* Objective: Donate $250 to the gang tithing box.
* Tip: Do this immediately in Chapter 2, 3, or 4. The box breaks later in the story, locking you out. You can donate it all at once or in small chunks.

4. Lending a Hand
* Objective: Complete all optional Honor story missions.
* Tip: Keep your Honor meter on the positive (high) side. Some critical side missions from Mary Linton, Brother Dorkins, and Edith Downes will only spawn if your Honor is high enough, and they must be played before completing Chapter 6.

The Optimal Order of Play
1. Chapters 2-4: Take your time. Spend money to unlock the "Pony Up" achievement, play all 4 mini-games for "Hobby Horse," and finish your 4 missable achievements listed above.
  1. Chapter 5: Enjoy the story. (Note: None of the animals on Guarma are required for the Zoologist or Skin Deep achievements).
  2. Chapter 6 & Epilogue: Complete the story, find the 9 fallen companion graves for "Paying Respects," and wrap up the massive "Best in the West" (100% completion) grind.
  3. Cleanup: Replay missions from the main menu to secure 70 gold medals for "Gold Rush."

2. Story Progression Achievements (Unmissable)

Main Story Achievements
The following 11 achievements are completely unmissable. As long as you play through the main campaign and watch the credits roll, you will unlock all of these.

Back in the Mud
* Objective: Complete Chapter 1.

Just a Scratch
* Objective: Complete 'Enter, Pursued by a Memory' (Chapter 1).

To Greener Pastures
* Objective: Complete Chapter 2.

Settling Feuds
* Objective: Complete Chapter 3.

Washed Ashore
* Objective: Complete Chapter 4.

No Traitors

Third Time Lucky
* Objective: Complete 'Goodbye, Dear Friend' (Chapter 6).

Automated Story Milestone

Trusty Steed
* Objective: Reach max bonding level with a horse.
* Tip: You will naturally get this during the story just by riding the same horse, brushing it, feeding it, and calming it when it gets spooked.

3

Cash, Crime, & Camp Upgrades
These achievements focus on your interactions with the game's economy, honor system, and open-world activities.

Bountiful
* Objective: Survive 3 days holding a $250 bounty in all states.
* Tip: Get a $250 bounty in Lemoyne, New Hanover, Ambarino, and West Elizabeth. Then, camp out in the wilderness or hide in a safe house for 3 in-game days. Sleep as much as the game allows to pass the time quickly.

Pony Up
* Objective: Spend $5,000 across all shops.
* Tip: This tracks cumulatively across your entire playthrough. Buying customized guns, high-end horses, and camp upgrades counts toward this.

Extreme Personality
* Objective: Reach maximum or minimum Honor level.
* Tip: It is much easier to go for maximum positive Honor. Note that you cannot hit the absolute max rank until you reach Chapter 6, where the Honor cap is unlocked.

Self Sufficient
* Objective: Craft 30 unique items in Story Mode.
* Tip: Rest at a campfire and craft different types of split-point ammo, cooked seasoned meats, tonics, and hunting baits. They must be 30 *different* items.

Hobby Horse
* Objective: Play all 4 mini-games.
* Tip: Play at least one round of Blackjack, Poker, Dominoes, and Five Finger Fillet. You don't have to win, just sit down and finish a match.

Breaking and Entering
* Objective: Recover the stash from 4 homesteads.
* Tip: Rob 4 specific houses with hidden loot. Excellent choices include Chez Porter, Lonnie's Shack, Watson's Cabin, and Catfish Jacksons.

Take From the Rich
* Objective: Loot $250.
* Tip: Always loot the bodies of enemies you kill during story missions. You will easily hit $250 total early in the game.

Collections, Hunting & 100% Completion

The Ultimate Completionist Grinds
These achievements require patience, exploration, and a lot of hunting.

Best in the West
* Objective: Attain 100% Completion.
* Tip: This requires completing the in-game 100% checklist found under Pause Menu > Progress > Total Completion. It includes finishing the story, finding specific collectibles, maxing out your stats, and completing challenges.

Gold Rush
* Objective: Earn 70 Gold Medals in Story missions.
* Tip: You can replay missions at any time from the Progress menu. It is highly recommended to do this during your main playthrough if possible, as replaying from the menu locks you into a default horse and basic weapons.

Zoologist
* Objective: Study every animal across all states in Story Mode.
* Tip: Use your binoculars to "Study" every new animal you see. There are 178 animals required. Note: The unique animals on the island of Guarma (Chapter 5) are NOT required for this.

Skin Deep
* Objective: Skin every species of animal in Story Mode.
* Tip: There are 104 skinnable animals. Keep track of what you have skinned in your Compendium. Like Zoologist, Guarma animals are excluded.

It's Art
* Objective: Find a permanent home for the squirrel statue.
* Tip: You must complete all 5 stages of Mrs. Hobbs' Hunting Requests. Once you place the statue above the fireplace at Beecher's Hope, it will be stolen multiple times. You must find it 6 times total to unlock this.

Collector's Item
* Objective: Complete one of the Collectible strands.
* Tip: The easiest strands to complete are the 20 Rock Carvings ("Geology for Beginners") or the 30 Dinosaur Bones ("A Test of Faith").

Paying Respects
* Objective: Find the graves of each of your fallen companions.
* Tip: There are 9 graves total to visit. This can only be completed after finishing the main story and reaching the Epilogue.

Red Dead Online Achievements

Multiplayer & Online Progress
These achievements must be completed in Red Dead Online. You can complete them solo or with a group of friends.

Breakout
* Objective: Complete the Red Dead Online Intro.
* Tip: Unlocks automatically after completing the initial story mission "Honor Among Horse Thieves" and returning to your camp.

Notorious
* Objective: Reach Rank 50.
* Tip: This is the longest multiplayer achievement. Earn XP quickly by completing Role missions (Collector and Bounty Hunter roles give excellent XP), playing Showdown series, and resetting your in-game Awards.

Series Major
* Objective: Take part in a Series.
* Tip: Open your quick menu, select "Quick Join," and launch into any Showdown, Race, or Elimination Series match. You just need to complete the match.

Gun for Hire
* Objective: Accept 10 Free Roam missions from characters around the world.
* Tip: Look for orange icons on your map representing strangers (like Alden, Sean, or Bonnie MacFarlane). Interact with them and complete 10 missions total.

Eventful
* Objective: Play 5 Free Roam Events.
* Tip: Every 45 minutes, a purple invite will pop up on your screen for a Free Roam Event (like King of the Castle or Master Archer). Accept and complete 5 of these.

All's Fair
* Objective: Successfully counter a rival Posse's Free Roam mission.
* Tip: When a nearby rival player starts a Free Roam mission, the game will alert you that you can attack them. Destroy their supplies or steal their wagon to unlock this. (Can be boosted easily with a friend in a separate posse).

Buckle Up
* Objective: Achieve 5 gold Award Belt Buckles.
* Tip: Check your progress under Pause Menu > Progress > Awards. Pick easy challenges to repeat, such as selling items to a doctor, spending cash at shops, or headshotting enemies with specific weapon types.

The Real Deal
* Objective: Achieve MVP 3 times in a match with at least 4 players.
* Tip: You need to be the highest-scoring player at the end of a multiplayer match. Races or capture-style Showdown modes are often the easiest places to secure MVP status.

Posse Up
* Objective: Form a Persistent Posse.
* Tip: This requires spending $200 of your Red Dead Online cash. Open the Pause Menu > Posse > Form a Posse, and change the type to "Persistent."

Master Craft
* Objective: Craft 20 items (excluding ammo).
* Tip: Rest at any wilderness campfire and craft items like split-point ammo, special horse medicines, or cooked seasoned meats.

Butcher's Hook
* Objective: Sell 20 items to the Butcher.
* Tip: Hunt animals in Free Roam and bring their pelts, carcasses, or meat to any town Butcher. Sell 20 items total.
