Tip to unlocking 5th/6th weapon easily
Introduction
Get two good halberds
You can unlock the Soul Crusher on Xiapi Defensive Battle by playing as Lu Bu on Hard or above difficulties and stopping Hou Cheng, Song Xian and Wei Xu from defecting by defeating their respective enemy officer fighting them at the start. The recommended order to rescue your allied officers are the same as listed.
Abusing the halberds
Unlocking level 5 weapons in Dynasty Warriors basically boils down to killing officer(s) X within Y minutes in each character's unique weapon unlock battle on hard and above. You can find the requirements in other steam guides or online.
So what this means is that you're good to go as long as you select the corresponding officer for the weapon you want to unlock. (e.g. Choosing Dong Zhuo on Chase at Hulao gate for the level 5 bomb). You DO NOT have to use the character's ex weapons. You can use any weapons you please regardless of the "compatibility" stars
This brings us to the halberds. What you want to do during a 5th weapon unlock attempt is to pack loads of offensive skills such as Attack Boost, Mighty Roar and Musou Springs on your character and equip the two halberds you acquired earlier.
When you perform a weapon switch with the halberd, you gain a massive burst of attack and move speed as well as having a "shadow" fight with you. What this means is that when you switch to a halberd, you gain double damage and become able to attack roughly three times as fast. Besides that, the weapons switch itself will stun or crumple the enemy officers (depending on their weakness) allowing you to hit them with a full normal 6 hit combo (if you crumple them you can normally get about 4 hits in as they fall due to your bonus speed).
What you want to do is to switch between your halberds as you approach a officer you have to kill to stun him, smash him with your regular 6 hit combo, move behind him when he is on the ground with the bonus move speed and repeat as needed. The level 5 Halberd already has a monstrous amount of damage so you can basically kill any unbuffed officers in a couple of regular combos and buffed (they have the red/black aura) officers in about 2 to 4. This lets you spend less than 15 seconds on each officer if executed correctly allowing you plenty of time to finish the criterias for unlocking weapons.
