Disclaimer

The Phasma Files (this and mine magazine) originally was written in Russian. I know English on +-C1, so, with the help of Wiki, I have tried to translate it as correctly as possible. I hope you appreciate my efforts

Mandatory evidence

Some ghosts in Phasmobhobia have a mandatory evidence: Goryo (D.O.T.S Projector), Obake (ultraviolet), and Moroi (Spirit Box). This means that if you're playing without one or two of evidences and you don't have any of them, you can safely eliminate the ghost who must have that one
For example:
You're playing on a nightmare, the ghost walks on salt, you use ultraviolet light and see that there are no traces. Obake will definitely have them, so you can immediately remove him from the journal

Spirit

Does not attempt to initiate a hunt for 3 minutes after using incense during hunt or not

Wraith

  1. Never steps into the salt
  2. It can teleport to you and create an EMF out of nowhere, without any interactions

Phantom

  1. It is invisible for longer than other ghosts during the hunt
  2. If you take a picture of the ghost during a ghost event, it will immediately disappear

Poltergeist

  1. It throws items more often and harder than the other ghosts
  2. If you put a bunch of things in one place, there's a small chance he might use the Polter Blast ability on them and scatter them all over the room

Banshee

  1. It can come to the player across the entire map to interact with something
  2. Ghost can't have male name
  3. You can hear the Banshee's scream through a parabolic microphone or record it on an sound recorder

Jinn

  1. Accelerates in a straight line
  2. Never turnes off the fuse box

Mare

  1. Never turns on the lights in the room. Neither TV, lamp or computer
  2. The average sanity to attempt to start a hunt in light is 40%, and in darkness it is 60%
  3. Can immideately turn off the light in the room, after you turn it on

Revenant

Much slower than the normal speed of ghosts, until it notices the player and instantly accelerates to huge speed

Shade

  1. Not active, doesn't even start a hunt, as long as there's at least one player in it room
  2. Does not make singing ghost events. More likely to make a mist form or shadow ghost event
  3. Shade can't blow out the firelight while it's following you during the hunt
  4. The average sanity to attempt to start a hunt is 35%

Demon

  1. The average sanity to attempt to start a hunt is 70%
  2. It has the ability to attempt to start hunt at any time, regardless of players sanity percent .There is even an achievement for death from its ability in the first minute of the game.

Yurei

  1. Since recently, all ghosts can close doors to the end, but only it does it always and can even slam the front door without a ghost event
  2. Yurei doesn't leave the room for a minute and a half after using the incense. Place salt pile or set a motion sensor at the entrance(s) to his room and watch: if there were no ghost events in other rooms after which he could have returned, and he did leave, then it's not Yurei.

Oni

  1. It is visible longer than the other ghosts during the hunt
  2. Never does a ghost event "Form of Fog" (it's like a white haze)
  3. Reduces sanity by 20% when it touches a player during a ghost event (other ghosts by 10%)

Yokai

  1. When a player speaks near it, the limit of sanity to attempt a hunt increases to 80%
  2. During hunt, it can hear players only at a distance of 2.5 meters

Wait for the ghost to get away from you and start shouting into the microphone. If it doesn't pay attention and doesn't approach you, it's a Yokai

Hantu

  1. Temperature

    12–15°C (53.6–59°F)

    < 0°C (32°F)

  2. Never turns on the fuse box
  3. Creates steam from the mouth during hunt in cold rooms

Goryo

  1. He never changes rooms
  2. The D.O.T.S projector is a mandatory evidence (read the second section)
  3. The D.O.T.S projector is only visible on the camera

Myling

  1. The quiet one
  2. It becomes audible at the same time as the electronics start to lag

You can stand at the end of the corridor, turn on the flashlight, and listen. If you start hearing the ghost when the flashlight starts to lag, it's Myling

Onryo

  1. Every third extinguished firelight will lead to an attempt to start hunt regardless of sanity level
  2. For Onryo, the fire source takes precedence over the crucifix, so if a ghost burns the crucifix without blowing out the firelight, it is not an Onryo. Important: The radius of the firelight is 4m
  3. The average sanity to attempt a hunt is 60%
  4. It seems that the other ghosts can't extinguish multiple firelights in a row, but Onryō can, according to the attached video

Strategy:
Take a crucifix, a firelight and a igniter. Place the crucifix, light the firelight and keep an eye on it. If the ghost blows out the firelight for a third time and attempts to start a hunt within six seconds, it is an Onryo
Onryo puts out three firelight in a row in the video

The Twins

  1. There is a main ghost who lives in his room and behaves like other ghosts, and a fake ghost who lives in a 16-meter radius, interacts and can attempt to start a hunt, but does not give any evidences. If you have two long-distance interactions at the same time, it means that you have the Twins
  2. The speed of one ghost is 10% more than normal, and the speed of the other ghost is 10% less

If you have any suspicions about the Twins, just listen:
  1. If there is interaction in the ghost's room and at a great distance, and there is very little time between them - this is the Twins
  2. If the ghost starts hunts in different rooms - this is the Twins
  3. If the ghost's speed is different in different hunts - this is the Twins

Raiju

  1. Near electronic equipment, its speed increases by almost 2 times
  2. The average sanity to attempt to start a hunt when there are electronic equipment nearby increases from 50% to 65%

Obake

  1. Can change appearance during hunting
  2. The madotary evidence is ultraviolet
  3. It can create any type of fingerprints with 75% chance
  4. When Obake creates ultraviolet prints, there is a ~16.7% chance that he will create a unique print pattern:
    • Two fingerprints on the light switch instead of one
    • Five fingerprints on the keyboard and on the doors of the cells in Prison instead of four
    • A fingerprint with 6 fingers instead of the usual 5

The Mimic

  1. The Mimic's ability is to copy any ghost, including itself. In this case, it will stop showing any activity for 2 minutes. It never copies anyone in the first minute of the game.
  2. The Ghost has 3 evidences: a spirit box, freezing temperatures, and ultraviolet. If you notice another evidence besides these - ghost orb, it's a Mimic. Even if you play without any evidences, it will always show you ghost orb

Moroi

  1. The lower players sanity, the higher Moroi's speed
  2. Has a binding evidence - spirit box
  3. He can curse you through a radio receiver or a parabolic microphone, and your sanity will drain twice as fast. Use sanity medication to break the curse.

During the hunt, you can use a cursed item to make your sanity lower, or take a sanity medication to make rise it. If the ghost's speed changes, it is Moroi

Deogen

You can't hide from him. The ghost always knows where you are, so he rushes to you at high speed, but when he reaches you, he slows down to a snail's pace

Thaye

Only by entering the house, the average sanity to attempt start the hunt will be 75%, and the ghost's speed will be furious, but after spending a long time in his room, he will grow old and become slow like a snail. Age can be checked using the Ouija Board
