Fix rebirth crashing immediately / not starting

If you still experience crashing after reinstalling the game or verifying integrity of the files/deleting all of the additional folders under Documents > My Games and My Mods, you may need to download the latest microsoft visual c++ redistributable from this link[learn.microsoft.com] as the version included with the install did not work for me.


Click the x86 download option (as rebirth is a 32-bit application) and ensure you run this and complete the installation, then try launching the game again.

If you're try to play co-op, you must have every DLC purchased (currently cheapest through the bundle on the rebirth repentance steam page linked here) and enabled inside of the properties.


If you try to launch the game with just Repentance+ installed & enabled it will not work. Go into Properties > DLC and make sure each one is ticked.


Some additional troubleshooting you can try:
Untick every DLC and try launching the game one time, then tick each and try to launch it again.
