Introduction – How to Identify Every Ghost

Note: don't try memorise everything all at once, just learn as you play with this guide
  • This guide will help you recognise:
    • Individual ghost abilities
    • Ghost speed and sanity thresholds
    • How it interacts with players and the environment
    • Forced and optional evidence
    • Audio and visual cues

  • By observing carefully, tracking events, and using the journal effectively, you can determine the ghost type quickly and confidently.

It will not tell you what evidence is require for each ghost, just check using the journal, this is so you know how to identify a ghost without having to use evidence. Even useful in lower difficulties when getting evidence is tricky or the ghost is not cooperating

    All this information is factual

  • Hunts at 50% sanity

Conclusion

  • Keep track of ghost behaviours carefully. Timing, location, and player proximity often reveal the ghost type.

  • Combine observations over multiple rounds if needed, as some things only appear under specific conditions or may take a while for the ghost to do them

  • Always double-check with the journal to ensure your evidence matches the ghost before making your final identification. If you have evidence.

  • If any mistakes are made or there have been changes, let me know by commenting
