How i fixed the Binding of Isaac from (supposedly) lost data after downloading DLC

How??

I was trying to go from Afterbirth to Repentence today, but i found out that my save data was gone, so i got scared and removed the DLC just to find it's still there! What i found out is it doesn't delete the data, but just cant be recognized by the newest DLC. Just turn the DLC off and check if its still there on <whatever DLC or base game you were playing on before>. If you see it there then you can still fix it, if not i pray for you.
What i did was go to here (Steam\userdata\<USERID>\250900\remote) and copied all of these files to back them up.

Read the second to last line if you are deciding on doing this

You should see files like: persistentgamedata1 or ab_persistentgamedata2 (it doesnt have to be exact. Then after backing up, I found out that when i was importing, it was grabbing my data from my old Rebirth save instead of my Afterbirth save i was already playing on (It says what verison the save came from when you press the import button). :celeste_strawberry: So what i did was I deleted everything except for Afterbirth in the file location i sent, then launched the game and all my save data was there.

:aurip: Hope this can help out someone else like it did for me figuring it out. Btw they are coded so ab = afterbirth saves, abp = afterbirth+, rep = repentence, rep+ = repentence+, and for the base game rebirth it doesnt have one. :repoop:

ALWAYS back up the files in the directory i sent every step of the way and when you are testing TURN OFF STEAM CLOUD then when you are finished and it is working when you turn steam cloud back on make sure to hit LOCAL so it's the same across other devices.

If y'all need any other help feel free to comment, i think i've got it down. Also for repentence once you have your game working for rep just delete everything except the rep files and also delete the rep+ files if you opened the game beforehand and it should work and carry over no problem. :csgoa:
