How to acquire forgotten

first off, you need to unlock the permanent path to shoel, the place where you defeat satan. this is achieved by killing mom's heart 10 times (i could be wrong and its 11, but im SURE its 10. feel free to correct me if im wrong). Make sure to kill satan 5 times to get the negative. it makes you go down farther after killing satan which is where the lump of dirt room spawns

I, personally recommend azazel, achieved by making 3 devil deals in one run. he has flight and high speed, which is good for evading the feet stomping down when you get the first piece of the shovel.

I've heard tainted maggie is better, also you could use tainted keeper cause he spawns hp on kill, but this guide is going to use azazel.

first off, start a normal run. its a lot easier than hard mode to get it due to the floors being smaller and you need to be fast to even get the first piece.

Step 1: kill the first boss in under 1 minute. the high dmg of azazel makes this quite easy. if done correctly, you will hear mom shout "ISSAC!".

Step 2: go back to the starting room, you will see a large shadow moving around. bomb anywhere in the room to get it. (TIP! if you get a sac room while doing this, a bomb is guaranteed to drop if you do the quest.)

Step 3: grab the shovel piece and go to the next floor. DONT STOP MOVING, EVER, DURING THE STEP. also make sure to not grab ANY active items.

Step 4: kill mom normally, grab the negative, then go to boss rush. (the first shovel piece removes the time limit for it)

Step 5: complete boss rush (great tip! you can grab an active item and stop mom's feet from raining down since the way it disappears is when you leave and re enter. make sure to pick back up the first shovel piece on wave 14 - 15 to get the secondary piece.)

Step 6: grab the second piece and exit boss rush. when you get both pieces, mom will stop trying to smush you. kill IT LIVES! and go down to shoel. kill satan and then go into the chest.

Step 7: somewhere on the floor, will be a room with a lump of dirt in the middle. fly/walk onto it and use mom's shovel. IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!! WAIT FOR THE SOUL TO LEAVE THE ROOM BY FLYING UP AND DISSAPEARING. NOT DOING THIS WILL NOT UNLOCK THE FORGOTTEN!!!

Step 8: rejoice! you have gotten forgotten.
