The Method

When getting your opponent into a combo it is natural that your opponent will substitute the attack if he/she has enough blue bars to do so. When predicting this movement is it quite easy when facing off against either a new player or someone that doen't know much about PVP in general. All you need to do is count from 1 to 2 in this manner:

1 .. 2

Sometimes adding a 3 will help but in all reality the count to 2 will work most of the time.

1 .. 2 . 3

The dots are a quick pause.

How do you turn around during a combo? Turn your LEFT ANALOG downwards, if you want to turn around again turn it again upwards.

When predicting someones movements it is essential that you study them as well. If you do so, it'll save you from death more times than you can count. If a player substitutes essentially the very first attack every time then you turn around after your first hit. If they catch on and only substitute during the second hit then you turn around every second hit and so on.

It is essential that you don't do the rookie mistakes yourself to keep yourself being hypocritical on yourself. Try and substitute at random moments of the combo, or better yet substitute when your opponent is leading into a heavy attack. Heavy attacks leave the player stun locked into the animation longer than regular attacks.

When someone uses a teleporting ability like instant transmission or the movement at which allows you to basically teleport via short distances it can be a little unpredictable but mostly leaving them open for big attacks. If you see them do it short range, back up then charge forward for either a heavy attack or a regular one. The regular one will get them into a combo, the heavy one will likely miss but if it does hit it will make them fly back, if it does miss you'll still have enough time to get them into a combo.
