How To Level Efficiently (UPDATED METHOD)

For new players to Xenoverse, leveling your first character from 1 to 99 is going to be a bit of an exhaustive slog. Since it's your first character, you probably won't have access to the tons of zenni and TP medals needed to simply buy your levels from the NPC they added until you've already finished the main story.

Fortunately, when it comes to alternate characters, you can expedite the process significantly.

After completing the main storyline, you will be able to find a secret society member inside the gazebo area on top of the time patrol terminals. Talk to her to receive the 40 Ton Weights super soul. This will double the amount of any experience you receive from missions, and it stacks with the bonus XP events that seem to happen quite frequently in this game.

Now you might be trying to say that everybody knows about this super soul already, so why would I bother mentioning it in this guide? Well, the answer to that question is because I've figured out some new tricks you can do.

During one of the previous patches of the game, they included the option for you to use your alternate characters as fighting partners in missions. Unlike the official characters in this game, who will be scaled to the level of whatever character you are currently playing as, your alt characters will fight at whatever level you managed to build them up to.

This means that you can use them to tackle DLC missions which are vastly beyond your actual level! Even better, if you choose one of these alts as your main fighter, and they are equipped with the 40 Ton Weights super soul, you will receive the benefit of using it.

After completing the initial tutorial mission, you should have any DLC PQ's immediately unlocked, without having to reach a certain point in the story mode. Most of this DLC is intended for end game content, and thus is made for players who are close to, if not above level 80. If you follow the advice up above, while running a mission that gives over 100k experience, you can see your brand new character flying upwards of around level 40 something before they even attempt to take on the Saiyan saga!

But here's the catch: the 40 Ton Weights super soul is only a viable leveling strategy until you reach level 80. After that point, the amount of experience needed to increase your level increases tremendously, upwards into the literal 10's of millions once you hit the level 90 range. Even running the high level quests that give 100 to 200k EXP, with the 40 Ton Weights and the bonus XP event, you would have to run these missions dozens of times just to get a single level increase.

This, of course, is bull crap! So how do we go about handling this?

Well, you could just buy your levels from the Namekian NPC hanging around Conton City, but after hitting level 80, he charges TP medals instead of Zenni, and grinding those is always a long, boring process. So instead, we shall use the dragon balls!

But wait, before you start using Shenron to just give you free power ups, like Granola, you may want to keep an eye on Guru's House. Yes, these missions are a pain, but there are benefits to doing them.

The first time you get to meet Guru, he will give you the ability to increase your attributes to 125 points. That's cool, but it's not what we care about for this guide. What we care about is the second time you meet him, where you unlock the ability to make some new wishes.

The wish we want to get access to is "I Want to Grow More!"

This wish is the upgraded form of "I want to grow," and it increases your character level by 3, instead of 1. This is a godsend once your level reaches the 90's, because purchasing levels runs you upwards of 80 TP medals just for a single increase.

And there you have it, folks. All the ways I've learned about how you can quickly level up your characters in the most efficient manner possible!

UPDATE: While all of the previously mentioned tips still work, I have discovered a new method which is even faster than the previous ones. It relies on the use of the super soul "My Hobbies are Reading and Sports."

As with 40 Ton Weights, this super soul sacrifices zenni rewards in exchange for more EXP. But while the 40 Ton Weightsd merely doubles the amount of EXP you get, this one triples it!

There's just two problems... this super soul is neither sold in stores, nor dropped by PQ's. It's a reward for participating in the Supreme Kai of Time Raid, meaning that you have to wait until whenever the game's developers choose to launch the event.

Not only that, but they BROKE THE GAME FOR WINDOWS 10, making it impossible to play multiplayer with other people. Meaning you can't do raid missions, meaning that even when the event does happen to drop, you still can't get the reward.

BUT don't give into despair just yet, for we have a work around option for this! That being in the form of Partner customization!

A few of the canon characters (Base Goku, SSG Goku, and Pan) have access to the 'My Hobbies are Reading and Sports' super soul. You just need to pay the TP medals to unlock it.

Once you do so, go into a mission of your choice and select the customized partner as your primary character for that mission. You will get the benefits of the super soul as if it were equipped to your CAC.

Another perk of this method of leveling, is that it becomes available much earlier than the 40 Ton Weights method. This is because with 40 Ton Weights, you have to beat the main story to get access to the super soul. While this new method becomes available as soon as you have Goku and Pan available as customized partners.
