Star Wars: Battlefront II — The Complete Mod Compendium
Welcome
Star Wars: Battlefront II (2005) has one of the most dedicated modding communities in gaming history. Nearly two decades after its release, modders continue to expand the game with new factions, maps, eras, mechanics, and total conversions, many of which rival the quality of commercial releases.
This guide compiles what are considered the most complete, polished, and content-rich mods available for the PC version of the game. Each entry has been selected based on the depth of content it adds, its stability, and the overall quality of its execution.
Before You Begin
Version 1.3 Patch — The unofficial 1.3 patch is required for most mods to function correctly. If the game continues to display version 1.1 after installation, that is expected behavior (the patch is still active).
→ Download the v1.3 Patch
Mod Loader — This mod loader is an excellent tool for managing your currently installed mods, and I highly recommend installing it.
→ Download the Mod Loader
Warfare Sounds Enhancement — This mod enhances the game’s overall warfare audio, improving sounds for vehicle engines, weapons, movement, and explosive ordnance. It also adds more immersive background effects, such as distant explosions and battlefield ambience, resulting in a richer and more realistic combat experience.
→ Download the Warfare Sounds Enhancement Mod [www.nexusmods.com]
Mod Limit — You can run multiple mods simultaneously. However, do not exceed 500 total missions, or the game will become unstable.
Source — All mods link to their official ModDB, GameBanana or GameFront pages.

These mods overhaul the game at a fundamental level: new HUDs, campaigns, mechanics, and multiple content additions across the board. They represent the most ambitious work in the SWBFII modding community and are a significant time investment.
SWBF3 Legacy
The most ambitious mod in the SWBF2 community.
SWBF3 Legacy is a large-scale reconstruction of Free Radical Design's cancelled Star Wars Battlefront III, built inside the Battlefront II engine using assets recovered from a pre-alpha build of that unreleased game. The goal is straightforward: deliver the game that never came out.
The mod introduces two fully reworked eras (Clone Wars and Galactic Civil War), converted maps including Coruscant, Cato Neimoidia, Bespin, and Dantooine, a rebuilt HUD based on Free Radical's original interface, new heroes for both eras, and the series' signature space-to-ground combat where players can board a fighter and travel from the planet surface into orbit mid-match.
Note: This mod requires a higher-spec PC than the base game. It is still in active development; check the ModDB page for the latest build before downloading.
→ Download SWBF3 Legacy
Dark Times 2: The Rising Son
The most content-rich singleplayer mod ever made for Battlefront II.
Dark Times 2 is built around singleplayer. Set in the period before and during the early Galactic Civil War, the mod draws from both the films and the expanded universe, introducing over 20 new heroes, each accompanied by a dedicated AI hero support unit.
The mod includes 16 new maps, 105 distinct missions, new weapons, new Force powers, a revamped lightsaber combat system with light attacks, heavy attacks, and Force Finishers, and a wave survival mode. Its centerpiece is a full campaign played through the Galactic Conquest interface. Randomized unit loadouts and skyboxes give each match a different feel, extending replayability significantly.

Battlefront Ultimate Commander
The largest-scale unit overhaul mod available for Battlefront II.
Battlefront Ultimate Commander is a total overhaul built around depth and scale. It adds over 200 new playable unit classes across three eras: The Clone Wars, Imperial Civil War, and The Old Republic, along with approximately 10 custom maps, 5+ new game modes including Red vs. Blue, Order 66, and an XL mode, a new HUD, significantly improved AI difficulty, and custom visual and audio effects throughout.
Every unit class is purpose-built: Clone Legions have distinct skins that rotate per match, CIS units are individually characterized, and the AI is tuned to be considerably more aggressive than the base game. The mod supports all Battlefront (2004) maps and prioritizes compatibility with that game's content.
Note: Due to file conflicts, this mod is best run without other mods installed alongside it. The ModDB page has been archived by the developer; use the download link below.
→ Download Battlefront Ultimate Commander
Saga Edition
The most polished all-in-one overhaul of the base game currently available, and the easiest to install.
Saga Edition is a total conversion with its own dedicated installer and launcher, meaning it configures itself on install rather than requiring manual file placement. It ships with 2 fully rebuilt eras, 60+ playable unit classes, 40+ heroes, 50+ vehicles, 15 game modes, and 18 converted maps. New game modes include Supremacy (Clone Wars era), Order 66 (GCW era), and an expanded Campaign. AI heroes are functional across all modes. New lightsaber hilts were added for all heroes in v3.0, alongside in-game skin changing, high-quality weapon models in campaign, and stability improvements allowing multiplayer to function correctly.
Note: This mod is best treated as a standalone installation rather than a layer on top of other mods.

Battlefront II: Reforged
An overhaul that reworks the base game's maps, sides, heroes, and visuals and that offers
unparalleled immersion.
Battlefront II: Reforged by DoctorAnsem is a long-in-development project built around a single design philosophy: improve and expand the vanilla experience without fundamentally breaking it. The mod ships with a self-extracting installer and includes over a dozen maps spanning three categories: reworked versions of official maps (redesigned layouts, improved props and lighting), recovered Xbox DLC and prototype maps (Bespin: Cloud City, Geonosis prototype), and completely original new designs.
Both Clone Wars and Galactic Civil War eras are present with thematically reworked sides: new and improved hero models, new unit types, vehicles, and weapons throughout. Particle effects have been significantly expanded via a custom engine cap increase, resolving the invisible explosions and clipping effects that affect most other mods. Custom AI hero scripting handles hero deployment independently, giving AI teams much more active and combat-effective heroes than the base game.
Note: Disable AI Heroes in AnakinGT's Remaster settings before launching Reforged. The mod uses its own custom AI hero scripts, and leaving Anakin's AI hero option enabled will cause AI units to stop spawning entirely. Known crash maps include Space Coruscant and Geonosis Spaceport, avoid these in the current release. v2.1 is the current release and includes all three previous patches.

Era Mods
Era mods introduce new playable factions and time periods built on top of the existing game. Most are compatible with stock maps and many work alongside other mods in this guide.
DEV's Clone Wars Extended Era Mod
The most content-dense Clone Wars era mod available.
Created by Deviss, this mod adds a new era called "Clone Wars Extended" across all stock maps, introducing a large roster of Clone Legions, each with accurate armor, commanders, and unit configurations, alongside CIS factions and a range of non-standard sides including Mercenaries, Mandalorians, Bounty Hunters, Mon Calamarians, Umbarans, and Talz. Custom maps include Felucia, Christophsis, Kalee, Pantora, Ryloth, and Muunilinst, among others.
Several non-standard game modes are included: Deathwatch, Order 66, and a Bounty Hunter mode. A classic conquest variant pits a 50x Legion side against opposing forces for large-scale matches. Two additional campaigns (Teth and Christophsis) were added in later patches.
Note: Some maps and modes may still have stability issues. Check the ModDB page for the latest patch before installing.
→ Download DEV's Clone Wars Extended Era Mod
Battlefront Extreme
A focused unit overhaul that significantly improves the quality of every base-game faction without replacing the maps.
Battlefront Extreme (BFX) overhauled all four stock factions into two new eras: BFX Clone Wars and BFX Galactic Civil War. Rather than adding new factions or maps, the mod's intent is to make the existing sides more distinct, better balanced, and more lore-accurate, with a standardized class layout that adds Jet Trooper, Spy, Commando, and Commander classes across all factions.
Higher-resolution unit skins, new weapon models (including new grenades, rifles, and lightsaber hilts), increased AI counts on larger maps, faster laser speeds, and a restored awards system round out the changes. The mod is fully online compatible and works alongside the Conversion Pack.
Note: Requires the v1.3 patch. Some custom maps contain BFX support. This is the final release (v2.2).
→ Download Battlefront Extreme
Ultimate Battlefront: The Clone Wars
A Clone Wars era mod built around variety and replayability through randomization.
Ultimate Battlefront: The Clone Wars adds a custom era to all stock land maps and five included custom maps. Its defining characteristic is randomization: Clone Legions, commando units, and heroes are all assigned randomly each match, ensuring no two sessions play identically. Both sides field AI-controlled heroes who actively participate in combat rather than waiting to be unlocked by the player.
The mod features an enhanced unit layout, new lasers and sound effects and characters drawn from The Clone Wars animated series. Game modes include Conquest, Hero Assault, and several custom modes.
Note: Compatible with the v1.3 patch. AI heroes cannot be disabled through in-game settings.

DEV's Side Mod
A large Clone Wars era mod by Deviss with a dual-era structure and strong unit diversity.
DEV's Side Mod adds two Clone Wars eras to every stock map: one using a global 50x Legion side for large-scale battles, and one using recognizable named Legions (501st, 212th, etc.) for more specific match compositions. Each unit class across both Republic and CIS sides features a detailed layout with 9 distinct unit types, including Medic, Assault, Technician, Sniper, and more, all with purpose-built weapon sets.
A Mandalorian era is also included. Several maps from the Conversion Pack are supported, and the mod is compatible with the Mass Effect Unification era if installed alongside it.

Battlefront Zero
A large custom map pack with original Mandalorian-themed sides, unique game modes, and strong map variety.
Battlefront Zero by MandeRek and the Battlefront Zero team adds 12 fully custom maps to the game, each built from scratch by the mod's team. Custom Republic and CIS unit rosters are included alongside the Mandalorian-themed sides, with new weapons and sound design throughout. Two standout original game modes ship with the mod: Jedi Business and Mandalorian Affairs, both exclusive to specific maps. Notable maps include Dantooine: Base which features a dedicated Jedi Affairs campaign mission where the player controls Nahdar Vebb from The Clone Wars animated series, and Mustafar: Burning Platforms, a platform combat map set above a lava lake with Hero Assault support.

BATTLEFRONT-1035
A multi-era overhaul inspired by DICE's Battlefront II (2017) from the creator of GCW: 1035.
BATTLEFRONT-1035 by Delta-1035 is the direct successor to GCW: 1035, also listed in this guide, and represents a significant expansion of that mod's concept. Where GCW: 1035 replaced only the Galactic Civil War era, BATTLEFRONT-1035 adds a completely new custom era across all stock ground and space maps spanning all three Star Wars eras with units, weapons, vehicles, and starfighters designed to evoke the aesthetic and gameplay feel of DICE's 2017 Battlefront II.
Units are randomized per match across Clone Legions, Imperial units, and Resistance/First Order forces. New custom animations give movement and weapon handling a noticeably heavier feel than the base game. Game modes supported include Conquest, Space Assault, Heroes vs Villains, and Hunt. An expansion pack adds 75 additional missions covering community-made maps. A separate Christmas-themed expansion is also available for the Christmas in Jinglin Town map.
Note: v4.0 is the developer's stated final release. The expansion pack (Z35 folder) requires the core mod (D35 folder) to be installed first. Does not work with the main Conversion Pack (KotOR era version) so use Marvel4's BF1 Conversion Pack for custom map compatibility. If using AnakinGT's Remaster, enable award weapons in Remastered options menu before playing.

GCW:1035
A Galactic Civil War overhaul mod inspired by EA's Star Wars Battlefront (2015).
GCW: 1035 replaces the stock Galactic Civil War era entirely with a new one, adding new units, vehicles, and turrets designed to evoke the aesthetic and feel of EA's 2015 Battlefront reboot. Both the Campaign and Galactic Conquest modes are modified to reflect the new faction configurations. It is one of the few era mods to touch Galactic Conquest directly rather than limiting changes to Instant Action.

The Mandalorian Wars Project
A lore-accurate Mandalorian Civil War era mod drawing directly from the Jango Fett: Open Seasons comics.
The Mandalorian Wars Project by Commander Fett adds a new era called "Mandalorian Wars" to every stock land map. The mod is set during the Mandalorian Civil War, the conflict between Jaster Mereel's reformed Mandalorians and Tor Vizsla's Death Watch faction, as depicted in the Jango Fett: Open Seasons comic series. Both factions are fully playable with purpose-built unit classes and weapons. Heroes include Montross, Jango Fett, and Jaster Mereel for the Mandalorian side, and Vizsla for Death Watch.
The mod uses a self-extracting installer and requires the v1.3 patch. Unit models and weapons are drawn from community assets by RepSharpshooter, Silas, DarthD.U.C.K., and others. Version 2.0 is significantly smaller in file size than v1.0 due to heavy compression, but contains updated unit loadouts including a rapid-fire blaster carbine for the Mandalorian Elite Trooper replacing the heavier rifle from v1.0.
Note: v2.0 is standalone and does not require v1.0 to be installed first. Conquest mode only, no Hero Assault or other game modes are supported. The mod creator is no longer active; the mod is preserved via archive uploads on ModDB.
→ Download The Mandalorian Wars Project
Pax Empiricae
A Galactic Civil War era mod that fully rebuilds the Rebel and Imperial rosters.
Pax Empiricae replaces both the Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire unit rosters from the ground up, introducing new units, abilities, and a new era across all stock maps. Unit ability design is a particular strength of this mod, classes feel distinct and the new sides add considerable depth to otherwise familiar maps.
Note: Some maps and modes may still have stability issues or may not show up in the instant action screen at all. Check the ModDB page for more details on this bug.
→ Download Pax Empiricae
Battlefront Republic Commando
An era mod based on the Republic Commando game, with a rebuilt first-person perspective and HUD.
Battlefront Republic Commando adds a new era centered on Delta Squad and the Republic Commando unit class, drawing directly from the 2005 LucasArts game of the same name. The mod includes the Commandos' signature DC-17m Interchangeable Weapons System, new game modes, a modified HUD, and an improved first-person view designed to better reflect the original game's visual style.
→ Download Battlefront Republic Commando
The Old Republic Remastered
An era mod built from scratch around the cinematic trailers for Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO.
The Old Republic Remastered adds a fully custom Old Republic faction and Sith Empire faction, both designed entirely from the ground up based on the cinematic trailers produced for BioWare's MMORPG. Heroes include Satele Shan, Jace Malcom, and Darth Malgus. All unit classes for both sides were created specifically for this mod and are not reused assets from other mods.
The era is playable on all stock land maps and supports Hero Assault on Mos Eisley. New weapons, animations, abilities, and characters are included throughout.
→ Download The Old Republic Remastered
TORfront
A map pack and era mod set during the Great Galactic War and surrounding Old Republic conflicts.
TORfront focuses on the Old Republic era of Star Wars lore, specifically the Great Galactic War, Cold War, and Second Great Galactic War time periods drawn from The Old Republic MMO. The mod includes five custom maps: Alderaan: Treefall, Belsavis: Icebound, Makeb: Broken Paradise, Dromund Kaas: Labyrinth, and Coruscant: The Works, each with custom sides and sound design appropriate to the setting.

Star Wars: A New Frontier
The definitive sequel trilogy era mod: bringing The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi into Battlefront II with full Galactic Conquest support.
A New Frontier by Zero Studios (Calrissian97 and LitFam) adds a fully custom sequel era to all stock maps, the full Conversion Pack map list, and a number of individually supported community maps including Tatooine at War, Alzoc 3, Honogh Crash Site, Corellia Mountain Top, and Virmund City. Factions are the First Order and the Resistance, each with purpose-built unit classes, vehicles, and starfighters. A fully scripted custom Galactic Conquest is included with the First Order campaigning for control of the galaxy from a starting position at Chandrila.
Heroes include Kylo Ren, Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron, Captain Phasma, General Hux, an older Luke Skywalker, and Admiral Ackbar. Jakku is included as a custom map exclusive to the mod. Hunt mode features Porgs. The mod is fully online compatible via a multiplayer patch included in the download.
Note: Requires the v1.3 patch for the Galactic Conquest to function. Geonosis is a known crash map with ANF's GC installed so remove the custom_gc file temporarily if you want to play that map. Does not work with the main Conversion Pack (KotOR era version) so use Marvel4's BF1 Conversion Pack for map compatibility instead.
→ Download Star Wars: A New Frontier
Galactic Civil War 2
An era mod set in the sequel trilogy era, with weapons mechanics inspired by EA's Battlefront.
Galactic Civil War 2 brings the First Order and the Resistance into the game as fully built factions. Each side has four standard unit classes (Rifleman, Rocketeer, Sniper, Pilot), two special units, and two hero units available on every map. Weapons use an overheat system rather than ammunition with some weapons requiring a charge before firing at full effectiveness.
New heroes include Kylo Ren, Finn, Poe Dameron, Captain Phasma, an older Han Solo, a post-Return of the Jedi Luke Skywalker, and General Hux, among others.

Clone Wars Era Mod
A highly detailed Episode III-accurate Clone Wars era mod with unique heroes per map and Galactic Conquest support.
The Clone Wars Era Mod is dedicated to recreating the Clone Wars as depicted in Revenge of the Sith, with authentic Republic and CIS unit models, weapons, sound effects, and visual effects across all stock land maps. Version 3.0, the current release, expands the era to all remaining stock maps and introduces Galactic Conquest support for the first time since v1.0. Each map features fully reworked sides, with the Republic roster varying by planet, featuring the 212th on Utapau, the 501st on Coruscant, ARC Troopers on Geonosis, and Mandalorian Mercenaries on Kamino, among others.
Hero design is a particular standout: each new hero has unique abilities rather than reskins of the same base template. New additions in v3.0 include Oppo Rancisis, Plo Koon (with Force Judgement), Kyle Katarn, Boba Fett, and Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, with several existing heroes receiving new appearances on specific maps. A 7-class unit layout provides distinct roles for both Republic and Separatist sides. Optional crosshair and hitmarker sounds require AnakinGT's Remaster to be installed.
Note: Requires v1.3 patch. AnakinGT's Remaster is required for the new crosshair and hitmarker sound effects but is not required for the mod itself. Remove any previous version before installing v3.0 to prevent conflicts.
→ Download Clone Wars Era Mod
Rising Conflict
A compact era mod with three original maps and broad stock map compatibility.
Rising Conflict adds a new era of the same name that functions across all stock maps except Hoth and Endor, alongside three original maps: Dantooine: Settlement, Yavin IV: Arena (ported from the original Battlefront), and Bonadan. The era mod is lightweight by design and installs without conflicts alongside most other mods in this guide.
→ Download Rising Conflict[www.swbfgamers.com]
Star Wars: Homefront
A gameplay-first era mod that makes the base game feel significantly more intense and tactical without replacing its maps.
Homefront adds two custom eras named "Homefront CW" and "Homefront GCW" across every stock land map and all SWBF1 Conversion Pack maps. Its primary design goal is intensity: the AI has been tuned to be far more aggressive than the base game, unit classes are more distinctive, and the overall difficulty is noticeably higher. Heroes include Kit Fisto, Grand Admiral Thrawn, and a number of others not available in the base game, with custom hero music for each.
Game modes include Conquest, Hero Assault, Campaign, Order 66, and Jar Jar's Revenge. The mod draws unit models from Improved Sides Mod if it is installed, and from the base game if it is not, making it one of the few era mods that visually upgrades automatically alongside ISM3 without any additional configuration.
Note: This is the final release of the mod. Some maps have reported CTD issues, particularly on Clone Wars era. The mod is best run without too many other conflicting addon files in the same directory.
→ Download Star Wars: Homefront
Battlefront Legends
A multi-era mod drawing from the Star Wars Legends expanded universe: books, comics, and non-canon games alike.
Battlefront Legends consolidates three earlier mods (Legends Reboot, Mixed, and Core of the Galaxy) into a single release. It adds four playable eras: KotOR, Clone Wars, Galactic Civil War, and Second Imperial Civil War. Supported game modes include Conquest, Classic Conquest, Campaign, Order 66, Survival, all stock Space Assault maps, and Hero Assault for both CW and GCW eras.
The mod draws its unit roster from Legends-canon material such as characters, weapons, and vehicles that exist in the books and comics but were not featured in the films. A separate Elite Squadron map pack is planned for a future update.
Note: Version 1.4 is the final release. The KotOR era may not appear in the standard era selection, select "Custom Mode 1" from the game mode list to access it.

ReWorked Sides
A cut content restoration and hero expansion mod: the most actively maintained stock era overhaul currently available.
ReWorked Sides takes the existing Clone Wars and Galactic Civil War stock eras and rebuilds them with restored cut content, new heroes, custom Force powers, custom saber combos, and additional game mode support. Version 4.0 introduced full compatibility with Heroes of the Galaxy II via 9 optional expansion packs, adding 24 additional heroes to the stock eras, all custom-built, with their own Force powers and saber combos where applicable.
Heroes added through expansion packs are actual additions to the roster and do not overwrite stock heroes. Expansion packs are optional and modular. Notable additions include Sora Bulq, Serra Keto, Clone Assassin, Gizor Dellso, Royal Guard, and Queen Apailana.
Note: To use expansion packs, Heroes of the Galaxy II must also be installed. v4.1.0 is the current release as of February 2026.

Heroes of the Galaxy II
The largest hero roster expansion mod ever made for Battlefront II.
Heroes of the Galaxy II adds 122 new hero characters to the game, bringing the total available hero count to 131 including stock heroes, across 201 unique skin variants. Heroes are randomly selected each match from grouped pools organized by franchise origin: Prequel Trilogy, Original Trilogy, The Clone Wars (animated), The Bad Batch, Star Wars Rebels, Rogue One, and Solo. Individual groups can be disabled by moving their side file into a provided "Not in Use" folder, allowing full control over which franchises contribute to the rotation.
Hero Assault is added for Coruscant, Kashyyyk, Mygeeto, Felucia, Naboo, and Yavin 4. Two new game modes are included: Gun Fight (Hero Assault with blaster-only heroes) and Inquisitor Hunt (a Hunt mode pitting Inquisitors against their canonical opponents). AI hero support is optional and configured via a user_script file.
Note: If using AnakinGT's Remaster mod, select the Non-AI Heroes Version user_script to avoid conflicts. This mod was nominated for ModDB's Mod of the Year 2025. The original Heroes of the Galaxy (2022) is fully superseded by this release.

Reign of the Old Republic
The most complete and actively maintained KOTOR/SWTOR era mod available.
Reign of the Old Republic adds two custom eras: the Great Galactic War (based on The Old Republic MMO) and the Jedi Civil War (based on KotOR I and II), across all stock land maps and approximately 45 community-made maps. GCW heroes include Sith Emperor Vitiate, Darth Malgus, Darth Vindican, Bastila Shan, and Jedi Revan. Jedi Civil War heroes include Darth Revan, Darth Malak, Darth Nihilus, Darth Sion, Darth Traya, the Jedi Exile, and Calo Nord.
Galactic Conquest is deeply integrated: two full GC campaigns are included, and a skin changer with infantry appearance options is available in-game. A companion Mandalorian Wars DLC adds a third era. The mod is part of the Battlefront II Expanded Conflicts project, which also includes Reign of the New Republic as a separate download.
Note: v3.3.4 (April 2025) is the current stable build. Place the ZJS folder in addon, and custom_gc_7.lvl in GameData/data/_lvl_pc. Remove previous versions before updating.

The Clone Wars Revised
The most faithful animated-series Clone Wars era mod.
The Clone Wars Revised is built around accuracy to the 2008 animated series, with show-accurate unit models, textures, vehicles, and hero designs for every Clone Legion and CIS faction represented in the show. A Deathwatch faction is included. The mod supports SWBF1 Conversion Pack maps and uses role-based class design where each class has a defined purpose intended to encourage team-based play. Bundled maps include Umbara: Shadow Forest, Coruscant: Modern Warfare, Attack on Venator, and others.
Note: Development has ended. Beta v1.2 Demo is the latest available build. Check the ModDB comments for known compatibility issues before installing.

The Exile's Voyage
A compact but highly creative era mod introducing the "Extended Civil War" era across a small selection of stock maps, with strong unit design and a unique narrative framing.
The Exile's Voyage by AQT adds a new era called "Extended Civil War" to five stock maps: Endor, Naboo, Mustafar, Kashyyyk, and Tantive IV. The Imperial faction is replaced by the fictional "Inquisitorium" or "514th Pathfinders Regiment". Each map has its own narrative framing delivered through custom loading screen tips and story content, giving the mod an unusual degree of storytelling for its size.
Game modes vary per map: Endor supports Conquest and Hunt (514th Katarn Armored Jet Troopers vs Death Watch B2 Droids), Naboo supports Conquest and 2-Flag CTF, and Kashyyyk Conquest may occasionally crash at random — noted in the mod's readme. The mod features an Orbital Strike Beacon with a deliberate long delay between uses to prevent abuse and instability.
Note: Do not spam the Orbital Strike Beacon or the game will crash. Place the TEV folder in the addon directory to install.

Dark Space
A large map pack with two custom eras, built around randomization and compatibility with the Dark Times mod.
Dark Space is a 14-map pack that ships with two fully custom eras: the "Last Days" era and the "Dark Times" era by Maveritchell. Each era features new gameplay mechanics not present in the base game such as deployable command posts, poison grenades, enhanced melee combat, and expanded Force powers. Both eras use randomized unit compositions per match: elite units, heroes, and Clone Legions are drawn from a pool each time a map loads. The "Last Days" era ships with 7 clone legions, 14 heroes, and over 30 distinct unit types. Maps from Dark Space are also compatible with the Dark Times II: Rising Son mod when both are installed.

Republic Commando: Battlefront
A 2026 era mod and map pack based on Republic Commando, distinct from the earlier Battlefront Republic Commando entry, with a gameplay-first design approach.
This is a separate project from the 2005-era Battlefront Republic Commando mod listed earlier in this guide. Released in early 2026, this mod approaches the Republic Commando source material as a gameplay overhaul rather than a cosmetic one: unit classes, weapons, and mission design are all redesigned around the feel of the original game's squad-based mechanics. A custom map pack is bundled with the era.
Note: v1.7 is the current release as of February 2026. This mod is in active development, check the ModDB page for updates.

Batttlefront II: Expanded — The Post-Endor Era
An ambitious post-Return of the Jedi era mod drawing from both Legends and Canon, originally conceived around X1's Imperial Remnant and expanded into a full multi-faction release.
The Post-Endor Era by bk2modder began as a project to introduce the clone X1's Remnant to Battlefront II using assets from Free Radical's cancelled Battlefront III, and grew into a general post-Endor mod covering the fragmented Imperial period after the Battle of Endor. The initial Alpha release features four major factions: the New Republic, X1's Remnant, the Zsinj Dominion, and the Corporate Sector Authority. Minor factions including the Black Sun Crime Syndicate, the Mustafarian Mining Guild, the Banking Clan, and Felucian Natives appear on specific maps and modes.
Four bundled custom maps are included: Saleucami, Mustafar: Laboratory, Kashyyyk: Jedi Enclave, and Chandrila. The era draws on a wide range of community assets and ported models, with several factions using vehicles and weapons sourced from both Legends material and Free Radical's pre-alpha SWBF3 build.
Note: Alpha 1.0.0 is the current release — the mod is in active early development and is not yet feature complete. Requires v1.3 patch or AnakinGT's Remaster. Install the two core folders (zBF2ExpandedX1W and zBF2ExpandedUniverseCorpSec) alongside the four custom map folders into your addon directory.

The Battlefront Project
A deep unit and gameplay overhaul mod that rebuilds every unit class in the game from the ground up with 9 distinct roles per faction.
The Battlefront Project takes a fundamentally different approach from most era mods. Rather than adding new factions or time periods, it replaces all stock unit classes for both the Clone Wars and Galactic Civil War eras with a redesigned 9-class layout built around distinct battlefield roles: Medic, Assault, Technician, Sniper, Demolitions, Mobile, Stealth, Heavy, and Commander. Each class has a purpose-built weapon set, and every stat in the game has been adjusted to bring the game closer to Star Wars lore accuracy, increased challenge, and greater tactical depth.
New models, revamped weapon interfaces, improved AI behavior, improved lightsaber combat with new combos, new first-person perspectives for mounts such as tauntauns and speeder bikes, and recovered SWBF3 models added in later patches round out the package. A companion Story Mode Remastered release adds an overhauled 501st Campaign with recovered original voice lines.
Note: Best run as a standalone mod without other era mods installed alongside it, as it replaces the stock era side files. Patch 2.4 is required on top of the base 2.0 release. The Story Mode Remastered patch is a separate download.

The Sith Wars II
A singleplayer-focused era mod set thousands of years before the Battle of Yavin, with a custom Sith faction and a free-for-all game mode.
The Sith Wars II by Darth Magnus/Kingpin is set in the open Star Wars timeline prior to the Prequel era, in a period the mod treats as the "New Sith Wars" space, thousands of years before the Battle of Yavin, following Disney's removal of the original Legends canon. The mod is the sequel to The Sith Wars and shifts focus from multiplayer to singleplayer, integrating blaster unit classes alongside the signature Force and saber hero combat that defined the first mod.
The mod adds a new Sith Wars II era to most stock land maps (space maps excluded), a custom Korriban map (a reskin of Rhen Var: Citadel), a reskinned Naboo: Theed, new weapons including a flamethrower, disruptor rifle, and Force Rapid ability, and a unique game mode called Sith Legends: a free-for-all mode where players score points by eliminating enemies, requiring careful target selection. Six unique heroes are included across both sides. Unit assets draw from Darth Khan, Icemember, and the Conversion Pack team among others.

Bow to Mandalore
A self-contained Mandalorian vs Empire era mod set in an original non-canon scenario, with strong unit design and a unique "Protect the Child" game mode.
Bow to Mandalore by S1thK3nny adds a new era pitting a Mandalorian faction called the "Mauldalorians" against the Galactic Empire. Each faction fields 6 distinct classes with purpose-built weapons and abilities: a Soldier class, Heavy, Sniper, Jetpack Trooper, and a Droid class for each side: the Mandalorian Reprogrammed Super Battle Droid with wrist blaster and flamethrower, and the Imperial Dark Trooper with an enhanced blaster rifle and high durability. Heroes are Gar Saxon for the Empire and the Mandalorian (from the Disney+ series) on select maps.
A companion game mode called "Protect the Child" is available on the Arvala-7: Compound map (a separate download by BK2-Modder), a scripted mode where the player controls the Mandalorian and must retrieve Grogu while surviving Imperial forces. Custom sounds are included throughout. The mod does not add new maps of its own beyond the Protect the Child mode.
Note: Version 1.0 is the first and likely final release. The Arvala-7: Compound map must be installed separately for the Protect the Child mode to function.

End of the Republic Era
A detailed transition-era mod covering the fall of the Republic and the early years of the Empire, blending Canon and Expanded Universe.
End of the Republic Era by NB20026 is set between 19BBY and 0BBY. Version 2.0 is a full remake of the original v1.0 release, with substantially higher quality models and a greatly expanded faction roster that combines Canon and Legends material. New factions available on specific maps include Death Watch Mandalorians, Mercenaries, Felucians, Wookiees, the Separatist Remnant, the Zann Consortium, Naboo Traitors, and the Jedi Order alongside the transitioning Galactic Republic/early Empire.
Notable map assignments include Order 66 sequences on Coruscant, Utapau, and Mygeeto, an assault on Kashyyyk set in 18BBY, Tying Up Loose Ends on Mustafar set in 17BBY, and a Prison Break mission on the Death Star set in 0BBY. Unit models include a ported Force Unleashed Clone Trooper with custom textures and a Purge Trooper with a notably well-received original rifle model.
Note: Hoth is not supported in v2.0. Several minor known bugs exist: the Z-6 rotary gunner loses the weapon on secondary weapon switch, and the Purge Trooper electrostaff plays a persistent ambient sound until the player switches weapons.

Battlefront II: Mandalorians
A three-era Mandalorian civil war mod pitting different Mandalorian factions against each other across all stock land maps.
Battlefront II: Mandalorians by keldeanne adds three distinct eras to all stock land maps, each featuring different Mandalorian factions fighting among themselves rather than against Republic or Imperial forces. All Mandalorian models are custom-built by the original author and credited contributors. The three-era structure allows for variety in faction compositions and unit loadouts across different matches, while the all-stock-map support means the full map roster is available for each era.
Note: Space maps are not supported.

Republic at Conflict
A Clone Wars era mod that assigns a different Clone Legion skin to every stock map.
Republic at Conflict by BusinessBILL replaces the stock Clone Wars era with a new one called "Republic at Conflict" across most stock land maps. Its defining characteristic is per-map Legion assignments rather than using the same Clone skin on every map, each map has a specific Legion or unit variant assigned to it. Geonosis, Kamino, Kashyyyk, Naboo, and other maps each field a different Clone force, giving the mod a sense of lore-appropriate specificity that rewards players who move between maps. CIS sides are also updated throughout.
Note: v3.0 is the current release, originally named Evolved Clone Wars Era Mod. The mod is best run as a standalone since it replaces the stock Clone Wars side files. Some crash reports exist.
→ Download Republic at Conflict
Battlefront II: Order and Peace
A three-era mod covering the final Clone Wars, the Dark Times, and the rise of the Empire, blending Canon and Legends with randomized Legion assignments and strong mod map support.
Order and Peace by Grand_Max covers three distinct periods through three separate eras: Fall of the Republic (the final year of the Clone Wars), The Dark Times (the early Empire period), and The New Order (the later Imperial period). Each era features reworked Republic, CIS, and Imperial sides that reflect the evolving state of the galaxy across those years. CIS Militia units appear alongside or in place of droids on certain maps, reflecting the mod's intent to make the Clone Wars feel less black-and-white ideologically. Clone Legions and heroes randomize on many maps between appropriate variants, and a growing list of approximately 12 community custom maps are supported.
The v1.2 "Cold War" update added Clone Snowtroopers and Commander Keller to the Republic's winter roster, added Clone Wars and Dark Times eras to Hoth, and introduced the Clone Wars AT-AT alongside the AT-TE for winter planet scenarios.
Note: Requires AnakinGT's Remaster v1.5 or the Remaster map portion of Harrisonfog's installer. Install the ZDH folder into your addon directory. Several known era mods are incompatible, check the compatibility list in the readme before installing alongside other mods. The New Order era has reported crash issues on some machines.

Star Wars: The Battlefront Unleashed
A Force Unleashed-themed era mod set during the period between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, with units, heroes, weapons, sounds, and music from the 2008 LucasArts game.
Star Wars: The Battlefront Unleashed adds a new "The Force Unleashed" era to a selection of stock maps with custom units, heroes, sounds, and music sourced from Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (2008). Units include Evo Troopers and Palpatine Guards alongside other faction-specific TFU assets. A companion custom map called "The Homer Zone" is required for its associated map mission and must be installed separately.
Note: This is a small demo release, the developer did not want the mod to be lost, but it remains in early/demo state with limited map support. The Homer Zone map must be downloaded and installed separately.

Map Packs
These mods primarily add new maps and environments. Most support multiple eras and game modes, and several are compatible with other mods listed in this guide.
Marvel4's BF1 Conversion Pack
A faithful port of every Battlefront 1 map into Battlefront II, the lightweight alternative to Maveritchell's Conversion Pack.
Marvel4's BF1 Conversion Pack ports all 13 original Battlefront (2004) maps into Battlefront II: Bespin: Platforms, Bespin: Cloud City, Geonosis: Spire, Kamino: Tipoca City, Kashyyyk: Islands, Kashyyyk: Docks, Naboo: Plains, Naboo: Theed, Rhen Var: Harbor, Rhen Var: Citadel, Tatooine: Dune Sea, Tatooine: Mos Eisley, and Yavin 4: Arena. Each map is converted as faithfully as possible to the original Battlefront layout, with minimal changes beyond what the SWBF2 engine requires. Kit Fisto and Asajj Ventress are included as playable heroes on applicable maps, and several new unit variants are added across all factions, including the IG Assassin Droid Commander for CIS, Sandtrooper for the Empire, and a Jungle Rocketeer and Desert Sniper for the Alliance.
Where Maveritchell's Conversion Pack is a large-scale content expansion with its own KotOR era, custom sides, and over 40 new units, Marvel4's pack is a focused map restoration with a significantly smaller file size and lower performance overhead. It is the compatibility target explicitly referenced by several era mods in this guide (including A New Frontier and BATTLEFRONT-1035) making it a practical alternative to the full Conversion Pack for users who want BF1 maps without the added complexity.
Note: Requires the v1.3 unofficial patch. Remove any side mods before installing to prevent conflicts. This pack and Maveritchell's Conversion Pack are not designed to be run simultaneously — pick one as your BF1 map source and use the other mods accordingly. v1.1 is the current and final release.

Conversion Pack
The foundational map pack for Battlefront II, widely considered a baseline install for any modded setup.
The Conversion Pack, developed by Maveritchell and the Gametoast community, was originally built to restore every map from the original Battlefront (2004) that was cut from Battlefront II. It has since grown into one of the most comprehensive content additions available for the game.
The pack adds 25 new maps including all Battlefront 1 maps absent from SWBF2, alongside 5 new game modes, a complete third era (Knights of the Old Republic), over 30 new heroes, over 40 new infantry units, over 30 new vehicles, and map-specific Clone Legion assignments for Republic sides. A "Classic Conquest" mode replicates the original Battlefront's gameplay style. The KotOR era includes Darth Nihilus, Bastila Shan, and Revan.
Note: Install Conversion Pack 2.0 first, then apply the 2.2 patch. Lowering lighting settings and raising LOD in the video options resolves occasional crashes on some custom maps.

Sol Map Pack
A technically impressive map pack set entirely within our own Solar System, with strong cross-mod compatibility.
The Sol Map Pack adds five maps to Instant Action: Earth (Pioneer Trails), Luna, Mars, Titan, and Venus. Each map features custom-built environments designed around the real geography and atmosphere of its setting, with unique ambient soundscapes replacing the standard music. New hero units include Rahm Kota and Asajj Ventress. Game mode support covers Conquest, 1-Flag CTF, 2-Flag CTF, and Hero Assault. Hero Assault uses a custom soundtrack drawn from Holst's The Planets, Op. 32.
The pack also supports the Mass Effect Unification era if that mod is installed alongside it, making it one of the few map packs with explicit cross-mod era support.
Note: The maps are visually demanding and may cause frame rate drops on lower-spec hardware.
→ Download Sol Map Pack
Battles of the Storm
A singleplayer-focused map pack built around large-scale, scripted battles with high unit counts and narrative structure.
Battles of the Storm adds five maps: Geonosis: Zero Battle, Kashyyyk: The Storm, Kashyyyk: Cataclysm, Mygeeto: Storm Force, and Mygeeto: Final Thunder, each designed around significantly higher unit counts than the base game, with 100+ vs 100+ engagements. The maps use custom scripted Advanced Assault and Advanced Conquest modes, which function as structured missions with objectives and AI-controlled allies that actively capture command posts. The pack is entirely singleplayer by design.
Note: Install each of the five map folders (GZB, KHS, KYC, MFT, MSF) individually into the addon directory.
→ Download Battles of the Storm
Trench War
An ongoing GCW-focused map series drawing from Rogue One, Rebels, Ahsoka, The Bad Batch, and Solo. 20 maps and counting, each built around intense ground combat and walker warfare.
Trench War is an actively developed map series rather than a single release. As of early 2026, 20 maps have been released spanning a wide range of GCW-era settings: Scarif, Jedha, Mimban, Lah'mu, Wobani, Lothal, Atollon, Seelos, Bespin Cloud City, and others drawn from Rogue One, Star Wars Rebels, The Bad Batch, Ahsoka, and Solo. Each map is designed around intense, asymmetric ground combat with custom units, vehicles, and heroes tailored to the setting: Scarif includes Jyn, Cassian, K2SO, Bodhi, Chirrut, Director Krennic, AT-ACT walkers, Shoretroopers, and Death Troopers. Bespin Cloud City includes the Bespin Wing Guard as a custom faction.
Maps are released individually and must each be installed as a separate folder in the addon directory. The series is designed for large-scale combat with high unit counts, and several maps are demanding on hardware.
Note: Compatibility with Harrisonfog's Remaster graphics mod is limited on some maps due to the high resource demands; lower LOD and shadow settings if crashes occur. The Remaster's sound mod specifically conflicts with some map audio. Each map is a separate download from the ModDB page.

XBOX DLC Content for PC
Official Xbox-exclusive DLC that was never released on PC.
When Battlefront II launched in 2005, four additional maps were released as paid downloadable content for the Xbox version: Bespin: Cloud City, Rhen Var: Citadel, Rhen Var: Harbor, and Yavin 4: Arena. These maps were never made available for PC players. This mod, updated by Sleepkiller in February 2024, ports all four maps to PC with full game mode support.
The pack also adds Kit Fisto and Asajj Ventress as playable heroes, and enables Hero Assault on four maps where it was previously unavailable: Coruscant, Naboo, Mygeeto, and Kashyyyk. All content is faithful to the original Xbox release, so no gameplay changes or unit modifications are made.

Orbital Assault
A mod that adds space-to-ground Assault modes to every stock land map.
Orbital Assault adds a new Assault mode to all stock land maps that functions simultaneously as both standard Conquest and Space Assault. Players can fight on the ground, board a starfighter, and engage in orbital combat above the same map within a single match. The mod does not modify existing era content, meaning it stacks cleanly on top of most other mods in this guide.
Note: Full Release as of October 2025. Primarily a multiplayer experience, Assault modes are functional in singleplayer but are most effective with multiple players.

Tatooine at War
The single most detailed custom map ever made for Battlefront II: a full recreation of Tatooine spanning Mos Eisley, Jabba's Palace, the Dune Sea, and orbit.
Tatooine at War by El_Fabricio is a single map, not a map pack, but it earns its place here on sheer scale and ambition alone. The map combines Mos Eisley, Jabba's Palace, the surrounding desert, and a full space layer into one continuous environment. Ground combat transitions into space assault without loading, making it one of the few maps in the game to deliver true space-to-ground gameplay outside of SWBF3 Legacy.
Environmental detail is extraordinary by SWBF2 standards: Jabba's sail barge, Luke's homestead, functioning sandcrawlers, a carbonite display with Jar Jar Binks frozen inside, destructible buildings, and dozens of hand-placed props throughout. Several assets are sourced directly from the cancelled Battlefront III such as TIE fighter models, Rebel fighters, Boba Fett and Han Solo player models, and HD weapon models were all recovered from Free Radical's pre-alpha build. AI pathing on a map of this size is remarkably clean. Game modes include Conquest, Survival, and a Race mode using the T-16 Skyhopper.
Note: The award weapon bug (switching weapons causes the first weapon to disappear permanently) is a known issue in Survival mode — do not switch weapons in that mode. Compatible with A New Frontier, GCW: 1035, and Galactic Civil War 2.
→ Download Tatooine at War
Coruscant: Modern Warfare
The most technically accomplished Coruscant map ever made for Battlefront II, an original creation by El_Fabricio featuring a fully realized urban battleground with interior and exterior zones.
Coruscant: Modern Warfare by El_Fabricio (the_legend) is consistently cited alongside Coruscant Droid Invasion as the best Coruscant map available for the game, and is widely used as a companion map in multiple major mod packs including The Clone Wars Revised and Dark Space. The map features both interior and exterior combat environments, with a recreated Chancellor's Office featuring a breakable window.
Custom sides for Republic, CIS, Empire, and Rebels are all included, making the map compatible with both Clone Wars and Galactic Civil War era mods. Multiplayer scripting was contributed by Jedimoose32.
Note: If installing alongside Harrisonfog's Remaster sound mod, some audio effects may not play correctly on this map. Remove the sound mod's common.bnk file to resolve.
→ Download Coruscant Modern
Coruscant: Droid Invasion
One of the most praised Coruscant maps ever made for Battlefront II, a dense urban battle set during the CIS invasion of the galactic capital.
Coruscant Droid Invasion is consistently cited alongside Coruscant Modern Warfare as the definitive Coruscant custom map experience in the SWBF2 community. The map depicts the CIS assault on Coruscant's lower levels during the Clone Wars, with dense urban terrain, interior and exterior combat zones, and custom Clone Wars era sides. The map layout is considerably more vertical and tight than the stock Coruscant map, creating a notably different combat experience centered around close-quarters infantry fighting.

Kothlis: Sea Haven
A beloved tropical map originally created by GAB, one of the most atmospheric custom maps available for Battlefront II, with five distinct time-of-day variants.
Kothlis: Sea Haven by GAB is set on a tropical coastal world and is one of the most fondly remembered custom maps in the SWBF2 community, primarily because of its five map variants covering different times of day and atmospheric conditions each with distinct lighting and ambient audio. Custom Clone and Imperial unit skins are included. The map supports Conquest, Hero Assault, and other standard game modes across its variants.
Note: Some variants have minor known issues including a minimap alignment problem and flickering lighting in the night variant.

Saga of the 607th
A narrative-driven Clone Wars map pack built around an original fictional Clone Legion with its own lore, custom units, and a story that spans eight maps.
Saga of the 607th by Xavious is a map pack with an unusual degree of narrative ambition for its era. The 607th Legion is an entirely original creation: a group of Force-sensitive clone experiments produced in secret on Kamino, deemed too independent for standard deployment, and eventually taken under the wing of Jedi Knight Zhaus Hyaun. The maps follow the 607th across a series of Clone Wars engagements: Rhen Var, Sullust, Xagobah, Jandoon, Space Kamino, and others, each with a loading screen prologue establishing the mission context.
The final release, the Saga of the 607th Map Pack, compiles all maps from Map Pack 1, Map Pack 2, the separately released Jandoon: 607th Purge, and the previously unreleased Space Kamino: 607th Stand into a single download, with improved custom units, weapons, and sounds throughout, and bug fixes applied across all maps compared to their individual earlier releases. Community reception singles out Sullust as a particular standout among the eight maps.
Note: Requires v1.3 patch. Several known weapon switching bugs exist: Clone Trooper, Clone Sharpshooter, Battle Droid, and Assassin Droid units cannot switch back to their primary weapon after switching away from it: reselect the class at a command post to resolve. Officer, Light Commando, and Super Battle Droid units will freeze the game entirely on primary weapon switch: avoid switching weapons with these classes.

Utility & Visual
These mods improve or expand what's already in the game rather than adding new eras or maps. The first four entries in particular are recommended as a baseline install regardless of what else you run, most era mods and map packs will look and play noticeably better with them active.
Battlefront 2 Remaster (Harrisonfog)
The community-standard visual overhaul for Battlefront II.
The Battlefront 2 Remaster Project by Harrisonfog is a multi-year, ongoing effort to rebuild the game's visuals to a modern standard without altering gameplay. It operates as a suite of interoperable components: remastered maps (Rezzed and Realistic), the Improved Sides Mod 3 for unit and vehicle models, the Shaderpatch preset for engine-level post-processing, and an all-in-one installer that bundles the current state of the project into a single executable. Each component can also be installed individually.
The January 2026 installer is the current release. All components are fully online compatible. Many era mods and map packs explicitly list this as a recommended companion mod, and several (including Homefront) automatically use its improved models if detected.
Note: ISM3 installs to GameData/data/_lvl_pc, not the addon folder, follow the installation instructions carefully. Not compatible with Battlefront: Halation when the Remaster's new visual effects are active.

Improved Sides Mod 3
High-definition model and texture replacements for every stock unit, vehicle, and weapon.
ISM3 by Javitolo98 and Harrisonfog replaces the 3D models and textures of all stock infantry, heroes, vehicles, and weapons with purpose-built HD equivalents. New death animations, idle animations, cockpit models, and weapon models are included. A built-in skin changer allows switching between unit appearances in-game. The mod also replaces vanilla locals (Tuskens, Jawas, Acklays, Wampas, Gungans) with HD models via a standalone companion download.
ISM3 is bundled in the Remaster all-in-one installer but is also available as a standalone download.
Note: A known visual artifact (slightly translucent model edges) is resolved by installing Shaderpatch alongside ISM3.
→ Download Improved Sides Mod 3
Shaderpatch + Harrisonfog Preset
An engine-level graphics improvement that fixes broken visual effects and adds post-processing without the performance cost of ReShade.
Shaderpatch by Sleepkiller addresses visual issues that cannot be fixed through texture replacement alone, including broken water surfaces, missing effects on some community maps, and render quality limitations baked into the original engine. Because it hooks into the engine directly rather than sitting as a post-process layer, it has significantly lower performance overhead and does not break maps that use Shaderpatch effects for PBR materials.
Harrisonfog's preset configures Shaderpatch specifically for use with the Remaster Project, improving brightness, contrast, image sharpening, and bloom in a way tuned to complement the remastered maps and ISM3 models.

SWBF2 Remaster / Full HD Interface (AnakinGT)
A UI, widescreen, and AI overhaul mod, recommended as a prerequisite install.
AnakinGT's mod fixes the UI scaling for widescreen and 4K resolutions, replaces the main menu and loading screen artwork with HD equivalents, adds AI hero support across all eras, and includes a bundled copy of the v1.3 patch. A sound fix for several broken or missing audio effects is also included.
This mod directly touches the game's era configuration files, several era mods require the v1.3 patch and AI hero scripting to function correctly, and this mod provides both in a single install.
Note: v1.5 r2 is the current release. If using this mod alongside Heroes of the Galaxy II, use the Non-AI Heroes Version user_script in HotG II to avoid conflicts.
→ Download SWBF2 Remaster / Full HD Interface
In-Game Skin Changer
A utility mod that adds console commands for changing unit appearances mid-match, without altering gameplay.
The Skin Changer by Commander Awesome extends the v1.3 patch's fake console with commands that change the visual appearance of infantry, heroes, and vehicles on the fly, without affecting weapons, stats, or equipment. Commands change the entire team simultaneously, switching Clone Troopers between Legion appearances (501st, 212th, Galactic Marines, Kamino Security) or switching Imperial Stormtroopers to Snowtroopers, for example. A 2024 addon expanded available skins to include the 104th Wolfpack Battalion, 332nd Company, 187th Legion, and several others.
Note: Files go directly into the _LVL_PC folder, not the addon directory. Known to conflict with Harrisonfog's Rezzed Maps and several side mods. If you are utilizing the Remaster mod, then this particular mod is redundant.

Galactic Conquest
These mods overhaul or dramatically expand the Galactic Conquest mode — one of the most underserved areas of the base game. Both are complementary and can be used together.
'Choose Your Own' Galactic Conquest
The most expansive Galactic Conquest mod ever made: giving players complete control over which planets and maps appear in their campaign.
'Choose Your Own' Galactic Conquest replaces the fixed planet grid with a fully customizable one. Players select which planets to include from a list of 141 options, with support for nearly 300 community mod maps alongside all stock maps. Both Clone Wars and Galactic Civil War eras are supported. Anchor planets (Endor, Kashyyyk, Naboo, Yavin 4, Corellia) maintain consistent grid positions for structural continuity, while other planets fill remaining slots based on which maps are installed.
A "Classic Grid" version preserving the original GC layout is also included. An Excel document listing all 300+ supported mod maps is included in the download.
Note: The 2025 Edition is the current release. A maximum of 25-30 planets is recommended for stability. If using AnakinGT's Remaster, use the Classic Grid version to avoid a known CTD bug that can corrupt save data after several rounds. Always save between each round.

Crossover Mods
Mods that bring entirely different universes into the Battlefront II engine — with the same level of craft and content depth as the best Star Wars mods in this guide.
Mass Effect Unification
A crossover mod that brings the Mass Effect universe into Battlefront II.
Mass Effect Unification replaces the Star Wars setting entirely, adding a new Mass Effect era playable in Instant Action. Four factions are available: the Systems Alliance, Heretic Geth, Collectors, and Evolved Geth across six custom-built maps, all stock land maps, and all maps from the Sol Map Pack.
The mod ships with 25 playable unit classes, 9 hero classes including Shepard (class selectable via an external configuration utility), a fully custom HUD and menu interface, faction-appropriate sound design, and a new game mode. A configuration tool allows players to set faction combinations, difficulty, Shepard's class, and interface style before launching the game. Random side variations in singleplayer and preset combinations in multiplayer provide consistent matchups online.
Note: Mass Effect Unification is actively maintained and still receiving updates. R7, which adds Reapers and a Galactic Conquest mode, was in development as of late 2025.

Battlefront: Halation
The definitive Halo crossover mod for Battlefront II.
Battlefront: Halation replaces one addon slot with a Halo-themed era and map pack. Version 3.0, released in January 2024, is a standalone release that includes new UNSC and Covenant factions with fully custom unit classes and weapons, and several new maps set in Halo environments. A Halo Legends era assigns map-specific teams based on the Halo game the map is inspired by.
A wave survival mode is available on the Data Hive map, and the Pillar of Autumn map recreates the opening of Halo: Combat Evolved. Heroes vs Villains mode is available on select maps. All assets are original, no extracted game files were used.
Note: Not compatible with Harrisonfog's Remaster mod when the Remaster's new visual effects are active. A dedicated Discord server is available for installation support. Version 3.0 is the current release.

Prime Front
A Metroid-themed crossover era mod with 18 custom maps, 40 heroes, and 4 new game modes.
Prime Front by RED51 adds a new "Prime Front" era to five stock maps and 18 fully custom maps, building a Battlefront version of Nintendo's Metroid Prime series entirely within the SWBF2 engine. Factions draw from the Metroid universe: Space Pirates face off against Galactic Federation forces, with over 30 hero units all using blaster-class weapons rather than sabers, and four new game modes not found in the base game.
The mod is a community landmark not for polish but for ambition, created during the early era of SWBF2 modding when the tools were far more limited, it demonstrated what a non-Star Wars crossover could look like in the engine at a time when almost no one had attempted it. Asset credits include Fiodis, DarthRougeKnight, Wazmol, SkyHammer_216, and Maveritchell, among others.
Note: This is an early-era mod with rougher edges than more recent releases.
