Melee weapons
Melee
Melee means hand-to-hand fight among several people. The melee weapons occupy the slot 1, they are weapons of short range (some have long range abilities) and i do not recommend to use them against Terrorists or Rednecks because of their type of guns (Mainly shotguns).
Shocker
"The Shocker is another enjoyable melee combat weapon. It has the effect of administering a small (but effective) amount of electricity to the target, temporarily stunning it. The longer the fire key is held down, the more severe will be the effects. Keep in mind that after a target goes down, they can still get back up after a short time has passed and will probably immediately go find a cop. Some stronger people will not go down from the Shocker and will simply shake off its effects. The shocker recharges slowly, so if you’ve run out, simply wait a few seconds before using it again." — POSTAL 2 manual description.
Ammo max: 30
Damage: 1
Damage type: Electrical
Range: 100
The best way to use it is stunning enemies before killing them with another gun, i recommend shotgun. However, there are much better ways to stun enemies and you might lose health while trying to stun the (non-)hostile.
Shovel
"The Shovel, though usually regarded as a tool for labor, is handy in combat as well. The primary fire key will cause The Postal Dude to swing the shovel. You can also press the secondary fire key to thrust the shovel. When used on a target repeatedly, this weapon can do severe damage." - POSTAL 2 manual.
Damage: 12
The shovel is one of the weapons i like the most, but i dont consider it good for anything more than for killing randoms, such as polices and gangstars, but we are talking about the first weapon you can get.
Pressing M1 you can swing your shovel and by pressing M2 you stab your enemy. It takes 2-3 swings to kill a random npc.
Protest sign
OK, the most useless thing you can ever get. it is not a weapon you want to keep on your inventory considering the damage it does and that you need to kill protestants for it.
Damage: 10
Even worse than the first weapon you have access to. Just use it if you have accidently throw anything better away. (Does not have the ability to dismember).
Baton
"The Baton is useful in close combat. The damage dealt will be low, so you may find several strokes necessary when utilizing this weapon. Bash things with the secondary fire." - POSTAL 2 manual.
Damage: 10 (24 if multiplayer)
Overall it is pretty weak and needs several strokes to kill a npc. Pressing M1 causes Postal Dude to swing it while M2 makes you hit the butt of the baton on your enemy.
If you want to defeat as much polices as a pyscho would or if you want pistols, you shall find a lot of those.
Machete
"The Machete is the classic implement of choice for cannibalistic natives, hardy jungle explorers and hockey-mask wearing psychopaths. The primary fire key swings this bladed fattie in the traditional manner. The secondary fire key throws the Machete, which can kill things at a distance then return, boomerang-style. Most of the time." — POSTAL 2: Apocalypse Weekend manual
Damage: 50 (100 if multiplayer)
Okkkk, this is a weapon that honestly i love, its main ability is to dismember with one M1. The thing that makes Machete different from any other hitkill ♥♥♥♥, is that by pressing M2 you throw the weapon that must return to you after hitting a wall or going to far (You might lose if throw on spaces with too much props.)
It can be defend if the enemy has a shotgun or slot 4 weapons.
Sledgehammer
"The Sledgehammer is a wonderful thing whose effectiveness should not be underestimated. The primary fire key swings the hammer in the time-honored tradition. The secondary fire key throws the hammer for long-distance kills, but since a “Boomerang Sledgehammer” would be really stupid, you’ll have to chase it down and retrieve it yourself. Sorry. " — POSTAL 2: Apocalypse Weekend manual.
Damage: 100 (120 if multiplayer)
This weapon might look similar to Machete, but this thing is brutal. By pressing M1 you destroy the enemies heads, as i said, BRUTAL. By M2 you throw the hammer that will be hitkill to most of the (non)hostiles.
It is very useful against zombies and to stun soldiers, but can be easily replaceable by other hitkill weapons.
Scythe
"The Scythe is the unmistakable trademark of grain farmers and that 'Death' guy. The primary fire key swings the thing in the traditional manner. The secondary fire key hurls the implement for long range Ginsu action. However, unlike the Machete, there is no boomerang ability, so you’ll have to chase after it and reclaim it manually. This weapon is so much fun that it requires a closing sentence." - POSTAL 2: Apocalypse Weekend manual.
Damage: 70 (140 if multiplayer)
Ok, this one is a banger, it may be slow and the thrown ability a little ♥♥♥♥♥♥, but this thing is the best melee weapon. Firstly, it hitkills most of the npcs by decapitating them and it still does AoE. There is no much to talk about of the throw skill because it is just like the sledgehammer.
I do recommend using the scythe to kill soldiers on the bridge or whenever you need.
The first appearence of the scythe is after helping Vince on killing zombies, you will receive a quest from a npc where you have to kill elephants... bla bla bla.
Use it my dude, you will be happier.
Baseball Bat
This weapon is more unique than the others. However, easily replaceable, but it still have to receive credits.
Damage: 80
Alt Damage: 40
This weapon is very fun to use and very useful against zombies (it is a good option for those who dont want to waste bullets on randoms zombies). Pressing M1 makes you swing your bat, but differently from others swings, the baseball bat can throw the corpse to the side at the same time it kills (very useless, but funny ngl). The M2 ability is almost the same thing, you smash the npc, throwing them forward.
Dusters
Damage: 5 (Jab)
10 (Uppercut)
20 (Downward Punch)
100 (Head Punch)
25 (Eternal Damnation)
It is the one i found the coolest to use, but it is very hard to play if you are neither new to the game or has lag. You should learn how to use it because it may be important in some parts of the game (I know ♥♥♥♥ about how to use it.)
The Dusters are the best option to kill Krotchy if you don't want to pay him or whatever.
Im not going to talk a lot about it, they are pretty much ok.
Axe
Wow, the axe, do you like it little Jason?
Damage: 50 (100 if multiplayer)
This thing is pure gore, i do recommend using it in whatever part of the game you are (if you have the machete it is better to use it). Pressing M1 you make a vertical swing, M2 you make a horizontal one that is better for AoE.
The best thing about it is that you can tear limbs, that will be most of the times hitkill. However it can be defend by two-handed weapons such as the shotgun.
Bali
What are you? Spy from tf2?
Damage: 12 (62 if hit on back)
Bali is a knife, that's all.
This completely normal knife can give bleeding effects if used on npc's heads (Tougher the npc harder to make bleed effect). And as saw on the damage thingy, if you are a tf2 Spy main, you can backstab the npcs to kill them, but be careful, if you miss one backstab you shall lose a lot of health dealing with hostile npcs.
I find it very fun to use, but i had bad experiences with tf2 Spy.
Ranking
I will repeat, this is entirely my opnion and this can be different to you or your dog, dont hate on me for this ♥♥♥♥.
S Ranking: Scythe, Machete.
A Ranking: Sledgehammer, Axe, Baseball Bat.
B Ranking: Bali, Dusters.
C Ranking: Baton, Shocker.
D(ie) Ranking: THE STUPID SIGN.
Bye
