The tips

After a few playthroughs, these are the habits that helped me the most:

  1. Get comfortable with parrying. A well-timed knife parry can save both ammo and healing items.
  2. Don’t always go for headshots. Shooting enemies in the legs often sets up an easy melee attack and saves bullets. (try to remember this one)
  3. Spend your money on weapon power and inventory upgrades first. A few well-upgraded weapons are better than a backpack full of mediocre ones.
  4. Take time to explore and complete merchant requests. The extra pesetas and treasures make a huge difference later on.
  5. Use your crafting materials wisely. I like saving larger resources for shotgun and rifle ammo since they’re the hardest to come by.
  6. Always carry a spare knife if you can. Your main knife breaking at the worst possible moment is practically a Resident Evil tradition.

Hope these tips make your first run a little smoother. Good luck out there.
