alright, so what you want to do is find an enemy ship. royal navy or spaniard will do. it must be schooner and above(as in it needs a boarding ability) for this to work.
Next, attack the ship and cripple it, but don't sink or board it. just sail away.
Final, profit. once you are far away enough to despawn it, it will automatically give you 1 wanted rating. in its simplest form, you are crippling a ship and leaving them for dead.
