Why, what, wtf and rejoice

I found this fix on YT. Credit to them.

Before the fix, the 0xc000007b error plagued me, especially with the older Ubisoft games.
I couldn't run the following:

Assassins Creed: Brotherhood/Revelations/Black Flag/Unity. I do own Syndicate and AC1+2 but I reckoned they would give the same 7b error.
Newer titles ran fine: Origins/Valhalla/Mirage/Odyssey.

FarCry 3 & Sherlock Holmes - The Awakened - #also didn't load

All titles ran fine on Win 7&10. My guess, either a Win 10 update borked it, missing file or a corrupted file.

Stuff I tried:

Replacing xinput1_3.dll 86 & 64 to no avail. Also dumping the file in game dir - nope.
Re-installing DirectX/[dot]Net - Usually found in the 'Support' folder in Ubi games.
The symlink method - interesting method, but didn't work for me.
The compatibility win xp/7/8 way. Just no
Run as admin: Just triggers the error on screen. Without run as admin, I'd press 'Play', then it just stops with nothing -Steam. On Ubi it just sat there, being Ubislack.

The fix that finally worked was to replace the following .dll files in C:\Windows\

System32 mfc100.dll mfc100u.dll msvcp100.dll msvcr100.dll xinput1_3.dll SysWOW64 msvcp100.dll msvcr100.dll xinput1_3.dll

I know xinput is there to be replaced for the billionth time, but I didn't care it's all or nothing.
I'm not sure which of these files was corrupted, just replace all.

After this, ALL games with the error fired up immediately, no hesitation. OMG finally, rejoice!

What annoys me is hardly anyone mentions the mf/ms/dlls to replace. Microsoft or UBi have no clue - Just re-install game/windows etc. Those files are obviously needed to run these games so why not say?

If you're having similar problems, then this could be that fix, without having to re-install Windows. It's up to you, where you obtain these files: https://www.dll-files.com/ is a trusted place, I got mine from YT (bad advice) but no problems, it just works.

I have uploaded the zip to my google-drive IF you should need it. But it's at your own risk - always backup before replacing system files.

Extract to C:\windows\ you'll need admin rights to replace them too.

If this works for you, then I'm glad I could of helped.
