Resident Evil 5 | Installation

Steps

1° Start Installation
Once started wait until complete.

2° Start the Game
Once you start the game, some missing files will start to install and then Windows Live will give an error.

3° Attention - WINDOWS LIVE
DO NOT DOWNLOAD ANYTHING OUTSIDE OF THIS GAME FOLDER. What we must do to solve this error is to access the folder, in a dark window it will have a title saying "Games for Windows Marketplace", there will be three light blue boxes, we must click on the second "Log Folder" to go to the game folder.

4° Access the OFFICIAL FILES of the Game inside its folder.
Then we will have to click on "GFWLive" to later go to "Downloads", then we have to double click on the file that says "gfwlclient.msi" to install it (REMEMBER THAT THESE ARE OFFICIAL FILES PROVIDED BY CAPCOM FOR INSTALLATION ON STEAM) we must also install the next one that says "xliveredist.msi" (ALSO OFFICIAL).

5° Now you can play it :)
It is rare that it does not install on its own but hey, a long time game that has not been maintained by Steam and Capcom is disappointing but still worth 5 minutes to install.

I hope I have helped, good luck with the emblems !!

Extra Advices (not necessary)

Thanks to DeityUK for the advice below, also, thanks WESKUSSY for the advice too, maybe for those who can not download the game properly, maybe this is the missing piece for them.

Hi! For those who are unable to follow the method to get it working (it still works on Windows 10), and may be for @Brig1 to improve on the guide:
It is worth noting that the files required "gfwlclient.msi" and "xliveredist.msi" ONLY EXIST when the Window Live installation FAILURE screen is still on display. When you click Exit / Quit, the files would be deleted immediately by the system!
So basically in Step 3, when the Windows Live installation failed, you click on the "Log Folder" button, that will open File Explorer to the "Log Folder" folder. You need to go up one layer and visit the parent GFWLive folder. And then go to the sub-folder "Downloads". If the Windows Live installer is still running, then you will see the two files mentioned above. Run them as suggested in step 4

i was still having issues with RE5 after following this guide, my game would run but would minimise itself and i couldn't actually see the game if that makes sense? even though it was actually running. i had the same issue with RE6 and found that for some reason it didn't work properly in fullscreen mode and it turns out this was my problem with 5 too!
to fix this go to CAPCOM > Resident Evil 5 and open the "config" file with notepad. look for the FullScreen=ON line and change it to FullScreen=OFF
i don't know if there's anyone else out there with this problem but just in case, here's your solution :')
