Toggle Zoom

Are you tired of putting bind key toggle_zoom in your console o autoexec? Do you wish that the game gave you the ability to bind toggle_zoom right from the options menu? Well, today's your lucky day. Because I happen to have a solution to this predicament. Really, let me show you:

  • First, we need to go to the hl2 folder (use your search engine of choice to look up where it is. or just find it yourself through trial and error, doesn't matter)
  • Second, go into the scripts folder and scroll down until you see kb_act.lst. Click on it (open it in your text editor of choice if it tells you what app should open it) and look for either "+zoom" or "#Valve_Suit_Zoom"
  • Third, replace "+zoom" with "toggle_zoom" and save your changes.
Congratulations! You now have Toggle Zoom in your options menu. Enjoy your ability to shoot while zoomed in

8 Shells

Bonus: Shotgun with 8 Shells in chamber
Oh, your still here? You want a shotgun with 8 rounds in the chamber, you say? Well, I just so happen to know how to do that? And it just so happens to involve that same scripts folder we used before. Here's how I did it:
  • First, in said script folder, scroll all the way down until you see a txt file called weapon_shotgun
  • Second, Click on it and look for either "clip_size" or "6"
  • Third, replace "6" with "8" and save your changes

Again, congratulation! You now have a shotgun with 8 shells by default instead of 6. Have fun with your extra 2 shells.
