How to get Nestor Makhno as Commune of France 2025 (KX)

I wanted to make this because 1) the ingame path guide is incredibly barebones and is, in classic KX devs explaining their game fashion, essentially useless 2) all the stuff I found online is out of date, whilst the majority of the decisions are the same it is slightly more encouraging when the photos/phrasing is the same in your playthrough as the guide you are following and finally 3) it is fun to LARP as the makhnovshchina in a 9 year old video game

Step 1 is, somewhat ironically, to get the Sorelians (totalists) in power. In the event chain deciding members of government at the start of 1936 choose only Sorelians to gaurantee they get a large majority.
My advice is to immediately rush their focus tree until you get to 'Darkest of Days' which causes some anarchists to assassinate Valois (the Mosley of the Commune) and really gets the revolution going.

The next step is to do the 'Convene the Sorelian Council' focus which adds the Black Guard Insurgency national spirit (these are the guys you want.) (If that wasn't already obvious.)
This sets off a chain of events basically saying the Black Guard start attacking your industry. The general rule of thumb is to click on the option that says 'the threat of anarchy will increase.'
There are a few decisions which you HAVE to choose a specific option;
When Arthuys tries to unite the Sorelians you MUST pick 'Get off the fence and pick a side' This essentially causes the party to implode.
When the riots hit the streets, you MUST choose 'Brothers kill brothers.'








If you have done it all correct up to this point you should get the Black Guard Take Advantage of the Chaos - this is essentially the point of no return. The anarchists will then carry out mass executions of the Sorelian leadership.
The final decision which you MUST pick a certain option is the Black Guards Seize Paris! where you, obviously, choose dious nous sauve tous (God save us all.)

And there you go! You are now the Free Territory of France and a super cool black colour on the map (as well as the Third Internationale changing its colour as you are the faction leader.) You are now free to go down the Mother Anarchy; For Us! focus tree (although if I'm honest the rest of the game usually plays out about the same from this point. Oh well, at least you look cool as Germany marches on Marseille.
