For someone who is unable to avoid it, I have my own rule of thumb. I share it here. You can try. But be warned. I also lose several times until win.

My strategy is simple.
Check your opponent's next playable positions. Try not to give more opportunities to your opponent. Try to reduce your opponent's next playable positions.
At the same time, try to increase the number of your playable positions. Reserve your safe movements.
If your opponent has no place to play, but you have remaining positions to play, you finally win.
