Karen Jones was a clever scam artist with a taste for danger and the outlaw way of life. She joined the Van der Linde gang sometime before 1899, quickly proving herself as more than just a conwoman. Bold, charismatic, and unafraid to take risks, Karen often used her charm and quick wit to aid the gang in their schemes.

Between 1895 and 1897, she played a key role in a bank robbery in Tucson, Arizona, working alongside Arthur Morgan and Javier Escuella. Disguised as a nun, she smuggled pistols beneath her clothing and used the ruse to get close to the unsuspecting bank staff. The deception paid off, and the gang successfully pulled off the heist, further cementing Karen’s reputation as both daring and resourceful.
