📅 The Requirements

  • Timing: You must be in Chapter 2. (While some claim it's possible in Chapter 3, it is most reliable before rescuing Sean).

  • Window: The request can only trigger between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM.

  • Condition: Pearson must be standing behind his small side table (the one with the stew pot)drinking a beer.

  • The Signal: Listen for Pearson whistling. This is the ultimate sign that the request is ready.

🔥 The "Peaky" Trigger Trick

Pearson will only give you the request if he thinks you look "peaky" (unwell). You do not need to jump off cliffs, but you do need to be slightly "drained."

The Setup:

  1. Run around camp until your Stamina Core is flashing or empty.
  2. If you want to be extra safe, smoke a few cigarettes to lower your Health Core slightly.
  3. Approach Pearson while he is drinking and whistling.
4. Interaction: Greet him. If he says, "You look a little peaky, Arthur," the mission has started.

🧥 Getting the Jacket

  1. Pearson will ask for a Rabbit to make his special stew.
  2. Go hunt any rabbit (it can be 1, 2, or 3-star quality—it does not matter).
  3. Crucial: Do NOT skin the rabbit. Bring the whole carcass back to camp.
  4. Select Donate for Provisions at Pearson’s table. Arthur will say, "Got that rabbit for you.
  1. The Reward: There is no "Mission Complete" screen. After a few in-game hours, go to your Wardrobe > Coats to find your new Denim Scout Jacket.

⚠️ Troubleshooting

  • If he's chopping meat: He won't give the request. Walk away or sleep and try the next morning.
  • If the prompt won't appear: Try starting a game of Poker in camp, then immediately leave the table and check Pearson again. This often "resets" his AI routine.
  • Missable Warning: Once you move to Chapter 3, this request becomes nearly impossible to trigger. Get it early!
