Install newest AMD Catalyst Beta Drivers 14.6

You own an AMD Graphics Card like HD 6970, HD 7970 or R9 280 and having problems starting up the game or running it properly?

Check if you have AMD Catalyst 14.4 or less and upgrade to newest Catalyst BETA 14.6 from 27.05.2014

get from:
http://www.guru3d.com/files_get/amd_catalyst_14_6_beta_download,1.html

or later today from: (currently there is version 14.4 beta online, to be updated soon)
http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/latest-catalyst-windows-beta.aspx

Worked nicely for me.

I got a Sapphire R9 280X Toxic.

Could not play the first 5 minutes because of missing bodies (just head and arms visible) or the first trigger (go to position xy..) of the tutorial mission did not activate at all. I think because of the player character wasnt visible at all.

Runs stable. No more massive heat from GPU like before. No more errors so far. Have fun.

Important Notes

Please note also that AMD Catalyst 14.6 BETA only supports:

- Windows 8.1 (32 & 64-bit version)
- Windows 7 (32 & 64-bit version with SP1 or higher)

there is no support for Windows 8.0 so far in the beta which could lead to blue screens if you ignore this and install on 8.0.

Further:

- Running Watch Dogs with a R9 280X CrossFire configuration may result in the application running in CrossFire software compositing mode
- Enabling Temporal SMAA in the AMD Catalyst Control center under a CrossFire configuration when playing Watch Dogs will result in Flickering

All supported GPUs and APUs can be found on the AMD linked site above.
But as far i could see there are almost every actual chips from HD 5xxx to HD 7xxxx and R5 - R9, mobile versions and APUs included.

Also take a look at the AMD site again, as they have now refreshed it. Maybe it differs from an older 14.6 beta candidate we saw on 27.05.2014 afternoon. Just give it a second try if it didn't work before.

For me it runs stable for 10 hours now. Perfect smooth gameplay.
Just R9 280X and an older i7 Gen. 2 CPU here.

Also to be mentioned that i am not responsible for any damage or loss of data or other things related to this Guide. I just share my experience with you. Take a look at the AMD Catalyst BETA description for risc or known bugs and issues with it.
Just to know: 14.6 beta was a quick release for Watch Dogs and a few other serious issues with other games.
