Gear Up: The Medic
What is a Medic?
Other medics will equip both supports as repair guns and also their main weapon will be a repair gun. They will also be a small, light vehicle, meaning what they lack in armour they make up for with speed. This allows them to get around the map quickly to assist players.
What does a Medic do?
Alternatively, the medic may also follow you around for a while, or sit next to you if you are camping somewhere, ready to heal you as soon as the moment requires it.
How can I help the Medic?
Medics have to be very careful not to hit the enemy team when shooting their repair gun(s). So one of the best things you can do to help is to remain still when they are refilling your health. Of course this is difficult if you are being attacked, but if you are not then holding still will allow the medic to quickly refill your health so they can assist others.
2) Don't Shoot!
Do not shoot the medics. They have incredibly low health to allow them to be fast, so it doesn't take much to send them to the grave. Watch your fire around them!
3) Helping Hand
Some medics have a main gun that they can use in battle, but others will only have repair guns equipped and no weapon. This is so they can dedicate all their energy into keeping the team alive for as long as possible. Because they have no weapon, it makes them a very easy target. So if you see an enemy shooting at the medic, try to shoot that enemy! Keeping the medic alive means more chance of being healed when you need it the most.
That is all the medics require from you. No thanks are nessassary, the medic is just there to serve and to help the team.
How can I become a Medic?
1) Pick a Side
Do not heal the enemy team. Medics are loyal and selfless, therefore your duty is to help YOUR team. If you went around healing everyone, there wouldn't be much of a game to play. You also would make a lot of enemies, which isn't good when you have no weapon!
2) Be Selfless
Do not just use your repair gun to heal yourself. Whereas it can be useful, your no.1 priority should be to put your teammates first. With so little armour, healing yourself won't always help. But if your teammate with lots of armour and a good weapon needs healing, that would benefit the whole team, as they can keep getting the enemies. They might even save you!
3) Grudges
If you heal your teammate, and they respond by shooting you, do not hold a grudge against that teammate. The first time I played Gear Up, I didn't know about the repair guns and thought my own team kept shooting me. This may be the case for that person, they may not realise your helping them!
