How I go the Satsuki Yatoshi Mod working on Steam Deck
Directions
To get it working I, unfortunately, had to use another computer running windows and Warpinator(which is a file transfering program). This is what I did, and to be clear I'm sure there are better ways of doing this, this is just what I did.
- Install the game and warpinator on both Windows computer and Deck
- download and ran the Mod installer to install the game to my windows machine
- Change the name of the Mod manager to "FF7_Launcher"
- Open desktop mode on the deck, found the folder where final fantasy 7 was installed and erased the folder(This seems sort of backwards, but if you move a folder for a game and then have steam recognize it, it will overwrite files that have been modded with the vanilla files. This way, steam believes the game is there and won't see any issue once we've replaced everything)
- open warpinator on both machines and connect them. on the Deck, go to preference and change the save folder to the "common"folder where final fantasy 7 was installed.
- transfer the entire FF7 folder from the windows machine to the Deck.
- Double check if the game is in the exact folder that the Deck's original install was and that the folder as a whole is present. If it is incorrectly placed or name, Just move the folder to the correct place before attempting to run the game.
- switch back to the game mode on the deck and enjoy. Game works with all mods and will no longer ask you to make a square enix account. Enjoy.
