How to move. (Player only)
Hello! In this part you move on foot.
To walk you use the "W" key, this will allow you, the player, to move forward. To move backward you use the "S" key, this will not allow you to move the camera, but it will move the player. To move left you press the "A" key, this will move the player left, the same goes for the "D" key, which will turn you left.
To run you press the "W" key twice in a row, this will not work with the other "A, S and D" keys. This has always worked for me, if it doesn't work hold the "W" key and press "Shift". To sneak press the "Control" key, this will make you harder for most animals to see.
How to move (Horse)
To move you will again use the "W, A, S and D" keys to move your horse. (We'll assume you're walking forward.) Hold the "W" key to move, this will put you in a basic walk. Continue to hold the "W" key and press shift, for now you're not going to trot, but your horse will do a more extended walk (more forward). Now let's go a little faster than walking, press the shift key again and your horse will trot, this will again have two or three stages, normal, fast, extended, this also applies to canter and gallop. While galloping your horses stamina will drop, remember to let them gallop a bit, or you can trot. To slow down, press the "Control" key to slow down, you can also do this by releasing the "W" key, this will quickly slow your horse down (neither of these will slow your horse to an instant stop). (When you bond with your horse, you instantly stop galloping at level three of the bond.) If you want to back up, double-tap the Control key, this can only be done from a standstill.
How to Interact with Items.
You'll be interacting with a lot of things for most of the quest. So this is the best help I can give.
When picking up items, the game will have you using "R", sometimes "E". You can use the "R" key to pick up something as simple as a can of beans or a freshly killed deer. You don't have to constantly press the "R" button when picking up items, you can just hold the button down and it will pick them up as soon as you come across them. This will apply to almost all items. (More to come soon.)
How to Open Your Inventory (and Backpack).
When you get shot, you may need a weapon to get out alive. To open your inventory, press the "Tab" key, everything around will slow down, use your mouse to find your gun, lasso, bows, pretty much anything you can find. Another way to do this is to scroll with your mouse. Let's say you're a little further along in the game and you go AMO on one of your weapons to find another (you have to hold the tab key for this). You should hover your mouse over your weapon (without AMO or any other weapon you don't like.) and press "E" to go to the next weapon you can use. But let's say you don't like this one and want to go back, just press the "Q" key and you'll go back.
What are saddles for? You may notice that there is a saddle in your inventory when you're riding/alongside a horse. This will be your saddle weapon(s). If you hover over it and press the "E" key, you'll go to one of your guns/bows.
Now, while holding down the Tab key, if you press R, you will be taken to another screen, this will be your food/medicine inventory. You can do the same thing by hovering over one of the options, you can press E to find another item to use.
I almost forgot, if you press B, you can open your backpack. (It will look different.)
