To get 100% in Resident Evil 4 you will have to finish it six times.

0. Play Mercenaries DLC to unlock Handcannon - best gun in the game that can have infinite ammo
1. Standard or Assisted Playthrough getting collectibles and all the achievements that you can.
2. Assisted New Game+ with Knife and Handgun only and withouth talking to the Merchant
3. Assisted New Game+ withouth useing any healing items
4. Proffesional New Game+ with A Rank to get last weapon - Chickago Sweeper, that can be used later on.
5. New Game on Standard Difficulty with S+ Rank
6. New Game on Hardcore Difficulty with S+ Rank

Start by playing Mercenaries free DLC.
Finishing 3 maps with S Rank will unlock Magnum in the main game available from chapter 2.
In Chapter 7 you can buy infinite ammo for it for 30 Spinel, so be sure to save those.
If you're willing to spend some extra real money on this game you can buy DLC called Weapon Exclusive Upgrade Ticket to get the Infinite Ammo from Chapter 2.

First playthrough should be on Standard or Assisted difficulty.
In this playthrough get all collectibles, all achievements that you can and as many weapons as you can.

Don't sell gems, instead socket them in to treasures you find along the way before selling them.
For Astute Appraiser Achievement / Trophy you will need 3x Red Beryl and 2x Yellow Diamond as well as Elegant Crown that you can pick up in chapter 10 or chapter 9 with Expanded Map DLC.

Make a manual save before final boss fight in chapter 16. Last Clockwork Castellan in behind that boss. Once you get all 16 of them you will unlock Primal Knife in Extra Content Shop. So after you get that last one exit game, buy Primal Knife for 1000CP and load that save. Now upgrade the knife to the max with exclusive upgrade that makes this knife indestructible.
Also upgrade your handgun SG-09 R.
Second playthrough will be Handgun and Knife only with No talking to the merchant for Minimalist and Silent Stranger Achievements.

By folllowing my All Collectibles Guide you will get following achievements:

Revolution Wind-Up (Destroy all 16 Clockwork Castellans)
Bandit (Find all 39 Village Treasures)
Raider (Find all 41 Castle Treasures)
Burglar (Find all 24 Island Treasures)
Jack of All Trades (Complete all 19 Requests for the Merchant)
Gun Fanatic (Obtain all 29 Weapons)

Knife Basics - Parry an enemy with a knife.

Shield Your Eyes - Defeat 3 enemies at once with a flash grenade.

Harpoon Hurler - Defeat Del Lago.

Amateur Shooter - Complete a game at the shooting range.


First shooting range is in chapter 3. Refer to my all collectibles video for the location.
Completing a game there will grant you this achievement.

Talk About Near-Death Experience! - Rescue Ashley as she's being carried away by the enemy.

Grilled Big Cheese - Defeat Bitores Méndez.

A Masterpiece - Get the exclusive upgrade for a weapon.

Never Heard It Coming - Defeat a Garrador using only knives.

Overkill - Use a cannon to defeat a zealot

Astute Appraiser - Sell a single treasure for at least 100000 ptas.

Wave Goodbye, Right Hand - Defeat the Verdugo.

Hope You Like Thrill Rides! - Make it through both minecart sections in the underground tunnel without taking any damage.

Capacity Compliance - Reach the top of the clock tower without the lift stopping once.

You Talk Too Much! - Throw a grenade into Ramón Salazar's mouth.



No Thanks, Bro! - Defeat Ramón Salazar.

Two Bugs, One Stone - Kill 2 parasites inside a Regenerador with a single bullet.

Trick Shot - Shoot through and destroy 5 targets at the shooting range with a single shot.

You Used to Be a Good Guy - Defeat Jack Krauser.

Smooth Escape - Escape on the water scooter without taking any damage.

You're Small Time! - Defeat Osmund Saddler.

This playthrough is New Game+ on Assisted Difficulty.
We're going for

Minimalist - Complete the main story using only knives and handguns. (Excluding specific battles.)
Silent Stranger - Complete the main story without talking to the Merchant once.

You should have Primal Knife upgraded to the max makeing in indestructible and fully upgraded handgun.

You can kill enemies with:

- exploding barrels
- other enemies (enemies killed by other enemies are ok)
- mounted machone guns
- cannons in the castle
- wrecking ball
- you can kill final boss with Special Rocket Launcher

Anytime you can go to menu and in challenges check if you have 0 at the Minimalist Challenge.

This playthrough is rather easy, you should have plenty of ammo. Don't bother with No Healing, this will be our next playthrough.

This is another New Game+ playthrough on Assisted Difficulty.

This time we're going for

Frugalist - Complete the main story without using a recovery item.

In this playthrough we can talk to the merchant and use all the weapons.
In New Game+ there is a Merchant at the start of Chapter 1. Turn left just as you exit the building where the game starts.
You should have more than enough money to buy Infinite Rocket Launcher. It kills almost everything in one shot. It cost 2 000 000 gold but this can be reduced by 20% to 1 600 000 with Leon With Rocket Launcher Charm.

This rocket launcher plus handcannon and all the weapons make this run a breeze but you still should be carefull as rushing can get you hurt. If you get to critical state on Assisted you will be healed just above it every time you enter combat. But try not to get so low on health. If you get hurt tu much just reload a save.

This one is New Game+ Professional Difficulty with A-Rank.

Again this should be very easy with Infinite ROcket Launcher. Max rank you can get here is S by finishing the game in 5h 30min but you only need A so you have 7h window.

This playthrough will unlock Chicago Sweeper which is the last weapon you need for

Gun Fanatic - Obtain all weapons.

This will also unlock Armor for Ashley.

Standard Difficulty S+ Rank Playthrough

Mission Accomplished S+ - Complete the main story on Standard mode with an S+ rank.

Unfortunately getting S+ Rank on Hardcore does not unlock achievement for standard.
S+ Rank on any difficulty can be unlock only on Playthrough number 1, so you will have to start a New Game withouth any upgrades and Infinite Rocket Launcher.
On Standard you must finish the game under 5h. There is no save limit so thake adventage of this.

When you load a game don't do it from the game you're in as it will add time to that loaded game and this can ruin your run.
Instead exit to Main Menu and load a game from there but don't use Continue, load it manually.

Before you start equip Armor for Ashley.
Get as much treasures as you reasonably can in the Village section and do all Merchant requests.
All requests should give you 30 Spinels and that's just enough for Exclusive Upgrade Ticket that you can use on Chicago Sweeper or Handcannon for infinite ammo.

Few tips for S+

Use shooting range in chapter 3. Save before going there in case it's a waste of time. Get some tokens, preferably 3 gold. Go back and make a save on different slot.
Charms have set drop queue inside playthrough, so go back to shooting range, drop all combinations you can in to the machine, see what you got, load and see other combinations. If you get something worthy load again but this time from Main Menu so you don't get extra time. Get the charms you want and move on. If there is nothing good them load the save before you went to the shooting range.

Good charms to look after:

Rhinoceros Beetle - +100% Health Recovery Item Resale Value (the best one IMO as all consumables such as fish and eggs are healing items)
Leon w/ Rocket Launcher - 20% off the Rocket Launcher (more usefull on Hardcore)
Striker - Increases run speed by 8%
Merchant - 5% Off All Weapon Upgrades

If you didn't hit any of those then don't bother and just load first save and then skip shooting range.

You can grab a Golden Egg in Chapter 3 for Merchant Request and some gold but don't sell it. YOu can skip this request. Don't use it either.
Save it for chapter 12 where you can find another Golden Egg by sidetracking a bit although you will need only one.
Golden Egg can be used in boss fight with Ramón Salazar in Chapter 12. If you throw it at his exposed head it will reduce his health by 70% and stun him. It takes few shots with Handcannon to finish the job.
Through the game you can buy 2 Rocket Launchers. One will kill anything except unfrozen Verdugo in one shot.
I recommend buying those and using one on mutated Jack Krauser in chapter 11. As soon as fight on top of the tower starts hit evade button and shoot a rocket at him ending this fight instantly.
Use second rocket on the last boss. When the fight starts run away and wait for him to jump down. When he's above you he's invulnerable to damage. Once he jumps down shoot a rocket and this will instantly get you to the second, much easier phase.

Hardocre Difficulty with S+ Rank.

S+ Rank Investigator - Complete the main story on Hardcore mode with an S+ rank.

This run also need to be done on Playthrough 1 but this time you have 5h and 30 minutes to finish the New Game.
Overall strategy is exactly the same as for Standard so play thorugh chapter 1-6 collecting 30 Spinels for Exclusive Upgrade Ticket so your favorite weapon can have unlimited ammo.

To get all achievements in Separate Ways DLC you will have to play through it 3 times.

1. Standard or assisted playthrough to get all collectibles and to do all Merchant Requests. Merchant Requests will unlock unbreakable Elite knife.
2. Professional New Game+ tu unlock Chicago Sweeper
3. Professional New Game to get S+ Rank

In this playthrough get all the collectibles and do all Merchant Requests to get unbreakable Elite Knife.



Capable Operative - Complete Separate Ways on Standard mode or higher.

Giant Slayer - Defeat El Gigante in Separate Ways.

"It" Kept You Busy - Defeat Pesanta in Separate Ways.

Nothing interesting here.

Had Enough of Preachers - Defeat Osmund Saddler in Separate Ways.

New Game+ on Professional difficulty.
This playthrough is only to unlock Chicago Sweeper since we can't use Handcannon in Separate Ways.
Chicago Sweeper can be upgraded to have infinite ammo and this will help us get S+ Rank in the next playthrough.

The Perfect Mission - Complete Separate Ways on Professional mode.
Skilled Agent - Complete Separate Ways on Hardcore mode or higher.

Professional on New Game.
Third and final playthrough. This time we're going for S+ Rank for

Ada the "S+"py - Complete Separate Ways on Professional mode with an S+ rank.

To get S+ Rank you have to finish the game in under 2h and 30min on New Game.
Fortunately we can use Elite Knife with infinite durability from the start and in Chapter 4 we will get infinite ammo for Chicago Sweeper.
To get in you will need Exclusive Upgrade Token for 25 Spinel so you must do all Merchant Request along the way.
