How to properly save a Civ 5 multiplayer game

Whenever a new Civ 5 save file is created, it will save the game in the state it was in just as the current turn you are on was processing. You can verify this by watching the clock. If you make a new save file the time listed on it will be whenever the turn began not when you clicked save.
If you save over this file however; the time will be corrected. This is the key to correctly saving Civ 5.

TL;DR Saving into the same file twice will solve the problem. #doubletap
