Resident Evil 5 100% Save (Or Recover an Old/Corrupt Save)
~
*WARNING*
This will OVERWRITE your current save game! Resident Evil 5 only has 1 save slot! Back up your save game before performing this. This will also unlock a few steam achievements automatically.
- Please read the above warning first. There is no risk of VAC ban when using this. Many people have done these steps, and no one has received a VAC ban. But you will lose your current save game, unless backed up, and unlock achievements.
- Create your own save game. If you already have a save, you can skip this step. You just need to start a new game, get to the first checkpoint, where you meet the guy who gives you your equipment, then exit out of the game.
- Back up your save game, found in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\<user-id>\21690\remote" to a folder on your desktop, just in case you want it back.
- Download the 100% game file[drive.google.com]. If you are trying to recover an old/corrupt save. This is where you would use that save game instead of the 100% save game.
- Extract the file to your desktop.
- Download Resident Evil 5 Save Game Editor[github.com].
- Extract the save game editor to a folder on your desktop. Name the folder anything.
- Start the Resident Evil 5 Save Game Editor program.
- Find your save game, using the editor, located at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\<user-id>\21690\remote"
- Copy your "Steam ID" / "steamID64". It should be a long number, like "532180123". Highlight the number, press "Ctrl" + "C" to copy.
- Close the program. Re-open the same program. This time find your 100% save game you downloaded and extracted to your desktop (or your old/corrupted save). Open that save.
- Where it says "Steam ID", highlight that again, and press paste ("Ctrl" + "V") with your Steam ID.
- Save and close the program.
- Place the 100% save from your desktop (or old/corrupted) save into your save game folder located at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\<user-id>\21690\remote" . Overwrite if necessary.
- Start Resident Evil 5. If Steam asks which save to use, your "Cloud" or "Local" save, choose your "Local" save.
