setting up secureblue

make sure to use the distrobox version of steam or this will not work. flatpak has issues with mo2 for some reason.

ujust install-steam

login to steam, download skyrim, hit play to generate your config

download mod organizer 2 as a 7z from their github, not the exe which is an installer.
for STEP i've placed it in /home/user/modding/tools/mo2

download protonplus from flathub, install proton-ge latest or you'll have issues with no dialogue sound in-game.

add modorganizer.exe as a non-steam game. change it to run under proton ge. changing compdata path breaks things so we're just gonna use 1 mod organizer 2 for each game i guess.

download skse, place it in skyrim root directory. open mo2 in proton, create global instance. launching skyrim through the launcher probably doesn't work, and neither does nxm links because we're running this through proton. for now i'm just downloading mods manually.

if all of this is done, you should have mo2 setup to run skyrim. no installers, no scripts, just proton.
